Accepting her fate

Jean Mary had no time to deal with anything insignificant for her. She had a lot in her mind and after the incident, she was always lost in her thoughts.

Grand approached Jean. "Hey there my baby! I have been missing you for days. Are you sick? Come with me, let's go to the canteen. My treat." Grand winked at her.

Grand Kang is a SouthKorean man and an exchange student. Ever since Grand saw Jean, he instantly fell in love with her. Grand is a jolly person and always appear to joke around and flirt to any beautiful girl in school that's why Jean doesn't take him seriously. But Grand has genuine feelings toward Jean.

"Stop fooling around Grand. Your girls would be jealous. Come on, I don't want to be an enemy of your fans." Jean replied.

"Who dares to make you an enemy? I will be the one they would deal if they touch even a single strand of your hair." Grand declared as if he is declaring his love for Jean.

Jean laughed at Grand, and she thought Grand was just hungry to think of so much nonsense. "Come on Grand, I think you are hungry, you said you are going to treat me. Let's eat." Jean walked forward and left him behind.

Grand stared Jean from behind and wonder when will Jean Acknowledge his love for her.

"Jean, you're bad, wait for me." Grand hurriedly ran towards Jean who walked a bit far from him.

Beneath their knowledge, Jan Reynolds was around Jean and Grand, and overheard them. Jan recognized Jean, she was the one who bumped into him weeks ago. Jan is an introverted person, as much as he wanted to approach Jean and make friends, he always find it hard to approach people and make friends. He feels shy when people stared at him. As a matter of fact, Jan was often stared at because he is extremely handsome and Jan thought that there might be something wrong in him that people always "glared" at him. Jan is not accustomed to people since his family was an outcast in the society despite being so powerful and full of money. Jan was always alone because he never had a mother to take care of him and his father was busy managing their business. Mr. Smith was the one who practically raised him. In addition to his extreme shyness is the fact that he has someone to marry and being associated to other women is not a good idea. His reason for coming home was to fulfill his grandfather's wish.

The day when Jean Mary is going to get married is nearing.

She approached her parents and told them that she had already accepted her fate. Her parents cried so hard. Jean Mary was their only daughter, it was hard for them to let her go. But Jean Mary had already decided.

"Jean Mary, our daughter. It is hard for us to do this, but we cannot refuse. Our family's duty is to serve them all of our lives. It's just happened that their sudden migration saved your father from that fate, but you on the other hand cannot escape this." Her mom said.

"I am sorry mom and dad for getting mad at you. I feel so guilty to spend my last days with you with bad feelings. I may not understand for now, but I have already accepted what is happening to my life right now. But always remember mom and dad that I love you." Jean Mary told her parents.

"We can just accompany you to the outside of their house. Be good our daughter." Jean Mary's dad uttered.

Jean Mary took a deep breath and said, "Let's go."

Mr. Smith informed Jan Reynolds that today was the expected day for his fiancée to arrive. Jan just nodded his head and did not speak any word.

They heard the doorbell rang. "It must be them. I will welcome them." Mr. Smith left Jan.

At the gate, Mr. Smith saw the Caster Family bidding goodbye to each other. He approached them and told them that it is time for them to leave. Mr. and Mrs. Caster with heavy hearts hugged their daughter as if it were the last time they could hug her. But Jean Mary was determined. In her mind, she won't have the same path with the previous women who married into this family. She would end the "curse" and find out the root cause of it.

After the long farewell. Mr. Smith led Jean Mary into the mansion. The mansion looks creepy since it has a chilly aura, she feels like she is walking in a horror house. Maybe because the mansion looks too old and had been abandoned for many years. Though still one can infer that the people who lived here were rich people, still the feeling of abandonment is still present. The mansion is too quiet. Jean Mary thinks about her husband to be. Is he old? Tall or short? But then she remembered her dream of the scary-demon-liked face she was about to marry. Chill ran down to her spine and an extreme fear attacked her. What kind of family are them? She wondered. Jean Mary was drawn in her thoughts that she didn't notice about Mr. Smith.

"Ms. Caster." Mr. Smith called her. "Ms. Caster? Ms. Caster?" Once again, Mr. Smith called her.

"Hm? Yes? Yes, I am listening." Jean Mary was startled a bit, but she regained her consciousness immediately.

"Again, as I was saying, you will be staying here from now on, we will give you a month to adjust prior to your wedding with the young master. Also, you will be sleeping in a separate room because the young master doesn't want someone in his room. He is not comfortable sharing his room. I will lead you to the guest room. Please help yourself, I am the only helper in this house. Right now, only the three of us are occupying this mansion so please help yourself. If you need something beyond your capacity, you can call me." Mr. Smith explained.

"Uhhh. Yes Mr. Smith. Thank you for being accommodating. I will be taking care of myself for now." Jean Mary said to him and Mr. Smith knew that it was her subtle of way of saying to leave her alone.

"Okay Ms. Caster, I will be going." He bid her goodbye.

Jean Mary entered the guest room and sighed. Finally, she's alone. But she feels a bit scared.

Jean Mary however did not notice a pair of eyes that were watching her.
