Around

It was us. It was you. I was only looking at you.

I only surrounded myself with you.

I only wanted to be with you.

And when I was with you, nothing else mattered.

Then you left.

There was nothing but thin air right in front of me.

I didn't know what else to look at.

I didn't know what else I can surround myself with.

Until my friends greeted me with warm hugs.

Surrounded me with the love they always had for me since the beginning.

The warmth of their presence that had always been there.

The support that they had always given me no matter the situation.

And so I looked around in awe.

Around me are my friends and my family.

Around me are people who have always been there since the beginning.

Around me are the people who have looked out for me all throughout my life.

Around me are the people who have loved me even when I couldn't love myself.
