Peace for the innocent

He had avoided Sterns house like the plague, he had never once been in his personal warehouse. He never needed to, Sterns was always in the Lab

But he will respect the little privacy his friend had left. He walked past the indoor swimming pool and heard a sudden footstep from behind.

He turned his body quickly and tensed ready to attack the intruder, only to stop in shock at who he saw infront of him.

The Ancient One.

He chuckled as he dropped out of his guard and faced the far older woman with interest gleaming in his eyes.

"I've seen into your head Tomura" her words alarmed the younger man "Your not in the best shape right now, I have some words of advice for you, if you wish to hear them that is?" She asked.

He was confused to be totally honest but he did almost trust the older woman. So he nodded.

She softly smiled "Well, simply put you surround yourself in your grief, your very home is a constant reminder of your departed friend" her words stabbed into him like a knife.

She wasn't lying.

"So I suggest while you wait for your friends birthday, to travel, now you may think travelling earth is not interesting as I do"

She turned around and opened a portal "However I don't think you'll find other dimensions or planets nearly as boring"

His interest was piqued, he followed the ancient one through the portal she opened and found himself in a realm of ice and snow.

He looked around him and felt the winters breeze blow past him and felt a shiver run down his spine.

"Where are we?" He asked the woman besides him who simply smiled.

"I think the question really is, where are you?" She said as she walked through the portal behind.

Before it closed he heard her speak "Your lab will be safe Tomura" and then the portal fizzled shut.

He looked around in slight shock, well she wouldn't just leave him here.

But doubt ran through his mind.

The wind blew into him with extreme force, he had to get moving quickly.

He trudged through the deep snow and spotted a faint light in the dark distance. He walked towards the light and ever so slowly made his way to the small settlement.

The settlement had no walls, only campfires and two large homes, covered in plant life instead of animal furs as he expected.

He trudged towards the small settlement, he wasn't sure where he was, who these people were or what the ancient wanted him to do.

He thought back to the fire demons.

He didn't think he wanted to do that again.

He watched as a 9 feet tall Yeti came out of one of the large huts. It had a large tree trunk in its hands about the same size as Tomura himself .

His palm itched as he prepared to decay this entire settlement.

The yeti looked oddly excited as it suddenly pointed towards Tomuras form in the snow. "Human! Ahahaha it's another human, father look" it's voice was surprisingly squeaky for a giant yeti with a beard.

It spoke English?

Had Britain colonised the Yetis too?

It's skin was blue and hair a similar colour to his own, it had three fingers and a single thumb on each hand.

"Really son?" A far older voice said as an even larger voice hobbled out of a nearby tent.

The older Yeti laughed when he saw Tomura and quickly approached the white haired human.

"Yi it even has white hair like us! Ahahahaha" the older yetis laugh was almost infectious as a smile grew on Tomuras cold face.

"Father my name isn't Yi" the younger Yeti whined petulantly.

The older one grunted "YiNe, it's a nickname." He then looked down at Tomura "You have a nickname human?"

"No, call me Tomura" the teenager said as he looked up at the large Yeti.

"Come Tomura let's eat!" The father shouted to the human who trudged after them.

He followed the odd duo to the large campfire.

They sat in a circle around the fire that flickered and blew in the wind surrounding them.

Tomura was suddenly handed as YiNe called it the human sized wooden bowl with a mix of odd looking fruits and berries.

He shrugged and started eating with the 'human' sized wooden spoon.

The father spoke up "So Toruma how's human life treating you?"

Toruma felt his small smile drop slightly, he looked into the fire and felt the strong urge to be honest not reply with the simple 'fine'.

"Uh, well to be honest. It's not been the greatest recently" he chuckled self depreciatingly "I mean I've had a friend pass, I'm constantly reminded of him"

"Ah, losing friends. I've lost a few in my time and it's never a fun thing my boy. But you must remember as much as you miss them, they are waiting for you" The older yeti said as he looked into the fire.

Tomura sighed "Yeah, but it's not just that I mean I just feel like the only reason I'm going to sleep is so that the day can pass by faster, before I wasn't wasting any time. I had a fire burning inside of me"

"Whether that fire was hate, anger it didn't matter. It kept me going, it kept me moving forward but now that fires gone, I'm just waking up, eating then going to sleep"

"I'm rotting away" he said as he looked down at his palm.

The older Yeti chuckled "It makes sense why, my boy your using powerful but short term emotions. Do you think it's possible to keep a fire made of anger and hatred lit."

The teenager looked up at the older yeti. "What?"

The yeti looked to the sky "That fire inside of you, your ambition, your drive. You must build that fire with a solid foundation. You cannot just decide you hate something and work off only that, you'll burn out"

"You need to find something you enjoy, you truly love" the Yeti met his eyes "What do you truly enjoy, what brings you a feeling of satisfaction?"

In that moment Tomuras life flashed infront of his eyes.

What did he enjoy? What made him happy?

His mind first jumped to killing Ultron, he enjoyed it but it didn't make him happy.

Then his mind jumped to money, it was useful but just a tool.

Then his mind focused on his strength, he wants to improve his strength, that is something he loves.

"My strength" he said to the Yeti who nodded.

"What else? You need to have a solid foundation" the older Yeti said.

His mind raced, he loved fighting, he enjoyed fighting.

"Fighting"

The Yeti nodded with a smile "What else?"

His friends Sterns flashed through his mind, then Logan and Jean.

"My friends"

The Yeti nodded "I can see one more in you"

Tomuras mind flashed to when he saved those mutant kids, the look of awe in the eyes of the kids.

He looked up at the Yeti and met it's ice blue eyes before he spoke.

"Saving people"

"That's not it" The Yeti said bluntly "what do you really enjoy, you enjoy saving people but what pulls to your soul."

Tomuras find flashed to Stryker, to Ultron, Blob, Kingpin.

"Look into the fire boy, what do you see?" The Yeti said.

Tomura did, he looked into the fire and saw himself.

"I see myself" he said

"Doing what?" The yeti asked.

"Hurting people, punishing them." He said with wide eyes as he stared as himself tear people limb from limb.

"No, who are you hurting, who do you want to hurt?" The Yeti asked.

"The guilty" his voice came out as a hushed whisper.

"I'm hurting the guilty and I'm enjoying it"
