Inside the hospital, the sound of a baby crying fills the air.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Copper. It's two beautiful babies!" the doctor said with half-closed eyes, seeming to smile beneath the surgical mask.
"Let me see them," said Mary with a tired yet eager smile on her face.
Mary eagerly takes the twins from the nurse's arms and gazes at them tenderly. "They are my gifts from the Lord. George, come see them too!" Mary calls out to her husband, who had almost missed the birth of their children, catching his breath.
"They're beautiful, dear," says George, overwhelmed by the sight of his children. "They're so small." "Pick one," says Mary with a small smile.
George hesitates a bit, afraid of hurting one of the newborns due to their fragility. Despite his fear, he picks up the little girl. "Hello, little Missy," says George with a small smile.
"Little Sheldon is jealous," said Mary, watching her husband hold Missy. "Pick up Sheldon too." After leaving the two little ones with her husband, Mary turns to the doctor and asks, "When can I take them home, Doctor?"
"Mrs. Copper, you can return home within 48 hours after giving birth. You'll be on bed rest during this period, as your uterus needs to heal within 20 to 40 days with regular visits to the gynecologist to evaluate your physical condition," said the doctor with a sigh. "And during this period, the twins will stay in the hospital for observation."
"Understood. Thank you, Doctor," says Mary, then turns to her husband, who is holding the two babies, and says, "Give them to me, and call for little George and little Connor."
In the hospital waiting room, two boys sit anxiously. One stands with an anxious expression, while the other sits with a face full of confusion and helplessness.
Walking back and forth, the taller boy is worried about his mother and the newborn siblings.
"George, come see your siblings, and bring little Connor too," George Jr., five years old, hears his father call out his name. He takes Connor's hand, who is still staring blankly, and runs towards the room where his father's voice came from.
Entering the operating room, George Jr. looks at his smiling father, then at his mother, who holds their two newborn siblings, smiling happily.
"George Jr., come meet your siblings, Sheldon and Missy," says George to his son. "Come meet your cousins too, Connor."
As soon as his name is mentioned, Connor snaps out of his daze and looks around, apparently unsure of where he is and what is happening. "Sheldon, Missy, little George," whispers Connor to himself, recalling what he was doing before.
Earlier, in the waiting room, he had been staring blankly at the panel floating in front of him
