Falling Island

Bang!

The island couldn't support its own weight. It broke into two, as it fell. The two smaller islands broke several times after, creating several descending pieces of rocks.

On one of those rocks was Bian. He could jump towards the Ink Sun Dragon then descend safely, but he had already wasted enough time here.

He unsummoned the Ink Sun Dragon and jumped towards another falling platform, as big as a football field.

The impact of his landing caused the island to spin rapidly. Bian deactivated jade body, returning his strength back to normal and preserving his stamina.

With the aid of the Emperical Aura, he knew the positions of all twenty-four life essence. He went near the edge of the platform he was on, unearthing a yellow life essence from there.

"This reminds me of the golden growlers life essence." Bian took a moment reminiscing about his time in the first sanctuary.

He looked at the approaching clouds, feeling a little bit of acrophobia. He steeled his mind, as he estimated where the shelter would be.

With a twist and a turn. Bian threw the life essence towards the shelter. By knowing the exact location of the shelter, he could adjust his aim to avoid destroying it.

Bang!

Bian jumped towards another falling platform. He unearthed another life essence and threw it.

He did it again, and again, eventually sending all twenty-four life essence towards the shelter in under an hour.

"Its too bad I can't absorb these life essences myself." Bian lamented. With no life flow to simulate, he couldn't absorb those life essences.

He looked at the setting sun, reasoning it wouldn't be sensible to summon the Ink Sun Dragon as it would soon be night.

He briefly used all the power of his jade body to hurl himself towards the direction of the shelter. He could only see clouds, but the lock on abilities of vital point targeting was beyond terrifying.

He was in a free fall towards the shelter, the air resistance and atmospheric pressure couldn't cause him discomfort because of his strong physique.

'Once the sun rises, I can summon the Ink Sun Dragon to head towards the shelter safely.' Bian wasn't foolish as to assume he could survive a fall from this height.

If he used the full potential of jade body he could probably survive it, but Bian wasn't willing to test it out with his life.

...

Some days later, a seven hundred meter flying octopus flew towards a five kilometer walking shelter.

Bian sent the Ink Sun Dragon high into the sky away from view. He surveyed the shelter with interest. It was over two kilometers wide, and could house a hundred thousand of people.

Hope spirit, ever the helpful helper had gathered all the life essences that rained from the sky. Bian kept fifteen life essence for Man Tian.

Even though these life essence weren't complete, they still housed terrifying energy. Fifteen should be enough for a person to max out their super gene points.

Bian summoned the Strength Overlord. The minotaur understood him even before he voiced any instructions.

It ate the nine life essences like they were oversized sweets. Such a tiny jaw crushed them to pieces without much effort.

Unfortunately the life essence were not enough to make the Strength Overlord battle ready. Bian could only continue to feed it with water droplets.

Flap!!! Flap!!! Flap!!!

Several birds flew away from a certain part of the forest. The falling islands had finally descended.

"I need to search for my friends, but before that. Let's head towards your formal shelter."

"Is what you say true, about the other universe with peace." Hope Spirit asked for the umpteenth time.

Bian gave her an affirmative nod, she pestered him no more and led Varkal Shelter towards hope shelter.

Bian had told her about the universe outside the sanctuaries and promised a safe spot for her and her family members there.

He was partially at fault for opening a can of worms and felt responsible to settle the matter. Humans were also bound to suffer because of what Yi Dongnu did.

...

"What do we do now Master Dongmu? The leader of the wicked shelter Ma Ting is coming, he is a cruel royal spirit and surely wouldn't spare anyone." A general of Yi Dongmu's army said.

Yi Dongmu had managed to conquer both faith and love shelter. His actions gained the full ire of clover spirit who sent her strongest spirits and army towards them.

Ma Ting was a royal spirit just like Clover spirit, however he suffered a defeat in her hands and was forced to serve her.

He transferred the humiliation of his defeat to anyone wesker than him, which almost always included humans.

With a force of thousands, Ma Ting was determined to crush the humans thoroughly, giving them no chance to resist.

Yi dongmu regarded his general, he had the sacred-body to make weaker spirits submit. He ordered this general to gather a small elite team. If they really couldn't hold their positions, then they could only flee into the forest.

For someone like Yi Dongmu, running into the forest was a better option than going back to the sanctuary. The latter would mean giving up his access to power and evolution.

Charge!

Several humans and few spirits ran towards the approaching army. The earth trembled as different powers collided, setting off fireworks in the day time.

Yi Dongmu was like a ghost, disappearing around the battle field. Mutant creatures and spirits wouldn't even know how they died.

Pah!

A paw sent him flying, a white-striped sacred blood tiger attacked him.

"Its a sacred-blood creature!"

"Retreat"

The humans retreated to the stronghold while the spirits and creatures under their control acted as a distraction for them to get away.

Roar!

Several sacred-blood creatures roamed the battlefield, directly targeting the humans. Yi Dongmu himself had a nasty gash across his chest, losing blood rapidly while still facing the tiger.

"Where did it all go wrong?" He lamented, a slight falter shone in his eyes.

Suddenly an indigo light spread across the battlefield. Everyone stopped fighting for a brief moment, startled by the occurrence.

Vulture like creatures swooped down from the sky, decapitating the sacred-blood creatures in pursuit of the humans.

The sudden attack caught everyones attention. The sacred-blood creatures with only one or two gene locks opened couldn't even fight back against the Aerial Scavengers with six gene locks opened.

"What is this?" Ma Ting was uneased by the strange light. He sent out stronger creatures to deal with the Aerial Scavengers, and ordered the bulk of the army to move forward towards the stronghold.

Yi Dongmu watched as an Aerial Scavenger fought the White-stripped tiger. The tiger dodged the wind blades of the Scavenger but could not attack it, as it would fly back into the sky.

Seeing that both creatures were at a stale mate, Ti Dongmu fell back to the stronghold. He watched in slight terror as hundreds of creatures approached the shelter.

Though all these creatures weren't very strong, their numbers made them impossible to deal with.

Just as the humans were starting to lose hope, the ground began to tremble. Eight bus sized turtles stood in front of the shelter.

With a mighty roar, the earth beneath their feet surged, fortifying their bodies. The Rock Turtles became stalwart barricades, akin to small hills.

Hundreds of creatures couldn't get past their defense. Even top class mutant creatures couldn't bring down these bulwark creatures.

Awoo!

Six werewolf like warriors dashed out with ferocity. With a swipe of their claws, blood and sinew would flow like butter.

Swipe! Bite!! Stomp!!!

These six werewolves became the center of attention. One werewolf killed four creatures of different ranks with a single swipe, they were the butchers in this large meat shop.

Once the beasts occupying the Aerial Scavengers were dealt with, the vultures were free to rain down wind blades on the battlefield. Three Aerial Scavengers gathered and formed a tornado made of sharp wind which moved through the battlefield like a meat grinder.

It was a horrifying sight to behold. The wails of different beasts was defeaning, as blood rained down from the sky.

Watching over two hundred creatures die in under a minute, Ma Ting put on a gloomy expression. Those werewolves were top class sacred-blood creatures, which were responsible for tipping the balance in the enemy side.

His numbers had been reduced to mere cannon fodder because of the impenetrable Rock Turtles. The Aerial Scavengers were especially annoying, slaughtering wantonly in the battlefield.

"Sir those are Bloodfang Sentinels. They are ferocious creatures which are almost unbeatable among the sacred-blood class. I have seen a Bloodfang Sentinel with five gene locks opened kill a copper-tooth Jaguar with six gene locks." One of Ma Tings right hand men said.

"Retreat!" Ma Ting yelled. Normal Bloodfang Sentinels were already strong, but these were just absurd.

The White-stripped tiger he had sent to deal with that annoying pest was a sacred-blood creature with six gene locks opened. A Bloodfang Sentinel made a casual swipe and tore off its head in one fluid motion. These creatures had at least seven gene locks opened or even more.

If it was just one of them, he could have handled it, but six. Just because he could respawn doesn't mean he enjoys death.

He swifty decided to cut his losses and report back to Mistress Clover. After all, this was her battle and had little to do with him

"Who gave you permission to leave!" A voice thundered through the indigo sky. A jet of water pierced through the skull of Ma Ting's mount.

He fell in a disgraceful manner but quickly stood up, eyes burning in rage. He looked at the blood quill in the ground beside him, then at the figure which had appeared out of nowhere, standing unperturbed in the middle of the bloody battlefield.
