"Well this sucks." Bian sighed in defeat. After waiting for two whole days, the Ink Sun Dragon beast soul grew to its original size of seven hundred meters.
Along with the move and attack commands he could give it, a new command appeared. The self destruct command.
Bian knew this self destruction would be more powerful than the normal blasts of the Ink Sun Dragon. It would probably wipe out all supasser level beings and could potentially kill weak demigods.
Then Bian unsummoned the seven hundred meter beast soul, just to summon back a small octopus plushie.
"I can't fully charge it then unsummon it. This might be an issue." Bian massaged his temples. The utility of the Ink Sun Dragon beast soul would have been perfect if it could retain the stored charge after it was unsummoned.
Summoning the beast soul again, Bian waited for it to absorb a lot of sunlight and grow to twenty meters. Then he jumped on the back and gave it the command to move upwards.
"When life doesn't give you wings. You ride on the back of a flying octopus." Bian rubbed his smooth chin as he spoke.
The Ink Sun Dragon continued growing, rising higher as it got bigger. After a few hours, the beast was eighty meters. The bigger it grew, the faster it absorbed sunlight to grow even bigger.
Last time it had taken two days to reach its original size because Bian had to wait through the night. With its rapid ascent, the Ink Sun Dragon flew above the clouds and absorbed even more sunlight than usual.
It took several hours of ascending for Bian to notice a floating dot in the distance. Moving on the Ink Sun Dragon wasn't slow, it was quite the opposite, yet Bian was sure it would take up to a week to reach the platform.
"This is unbearable, there has to be a faster way." Bian groaned. He commanded the beast to release small bursts of the dark beam to push it forwards.
The four most boring days of his life soon passed by. He didn't dare to sleep or practice while he was on the back of a flying beast, open to attacks from any direction.
At last, a floating island was before him. Bian paused for a moment to appreciate the sheer magnitude of this island.
"Ironic how I rode on the formal owner to get here." He mused as he disembarked from the Ink Sun Dragon and traversed the island.
There were dead trees as far as the eye could see. In the center of the island, a black sphere was present consuming light and matter like a black hole.
It didn't take Bian much time to find a spring randomly placed on the island. The spring was gushing out water, but some drops were clearly different from the rest.
Bian counted eleven glowing, transparent drops among the flow of water. They moved with the water around them, and were quite hard to keep track of.
He took out a bottle he had prepared beforehand and struggled to capture the special drops of water.
They seemed to come to life, passively avoiding his scoops. Bian paused for a moment to think about things.
There was no way the water drops were actually alive. The water around them would move their position when a ripple was sent through it.
The only to catch it would be to carry the entire pond or place the bottle in the rushing water and wait for the drops to flow in eventually.
Bian didn't fancy either options as the flow of the water was haphazard and difficult to predict.
"It might take a long time to get even one drop in. It might be easier to win eleven lotteries than to gather all eleven special drops." As Bian was saying, an idea struck him.
He could actually win eleven lotteries in a row with the Emeprical Will. Couldn't he do the same for the droplets.
He placed the bottle in a random position deep in the pond because the special drops never went close to the surface.
Unsure of what to do, he activated the Emperical Will and shut his eyes and all his senses.
'Will this even work?' Bian reasoned after waiting a couple of seconds. It was unrealistic to expect all eleven drops to rush into his bottle even with the Emperical Will.
He opened his eyes, taking out the bottle from the pond and thinking of a new plan.
"Wait, it actually worked?" Bian asked no one in particular. He looked at the bottle filled with eleven glowing drops and some normal water.
Although the Emperical Aura could also get him beast souls, the Emperical Will granted heaven defying luck it seemed.
He summoned the white serpent and placed the bottle in its limitless stomach before he unsummoned it. The snake might have been a super creature, but it was too precious to Bian for him to put it near any form of danger.
Having gotten what he came from he ventured deeper into the island, towards the black hole at the center of the island.
There were more trees here, which almost made Bian's heart skip a beat when he noticed they were all geno trees at the sacred-blood level or super level.
Slowly, he felt a change around his body. He was being attracted to the blackhole at the center. The amount of trees steadily decreased, but they were all super geno trees.
Feeling it would be a waste to leave the dying trees behind, Bian absorbed what little lifeforce these trees had left.
There were hundreds of trees scattered about the black hole. As he got even closer to it, the gravitational pull got a lot stronger.
Bian stepped on a very hard stone and paused his march. He cleared the dirt around the stone and couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"A super creatures life essence!" Bian gasped and unleashed the Emperical Aura, not minding if he drew some unwanted attention.
The indigo light of the Emperical Aura spread through the island in a second. The first thing Bian observed were life essences. He counted twenty-four life essences scattered through the island.
These life essence were not complete, they were slowly dissolving and flowing towards the black hole.
The indigo light penetrated the black hole revealing the singularity inside. It was a ten meter halberd, releasing an extremely heavy and domineering aura.
The sheer weight of the huge halberd distorted it's surroundings, creating a phenomenon akin to a black hole.
The halberd was attached to two trees which absorbed the energy of the several trees and life essence scattered through the island. These energies were fed to the halberd, slowly restoring the small cracks around it.
"Crazy, this is crazy. The Ink Sun Dragon killed so many super creatures and uprooted so many super geno trees to repair this halberd.
This obviously isn't a normal weapon. It should be some sort of geno core from the fourth sanctuary." Bian felt that was the only reasonable explanation.
He spent some time going around the island to absorb water droplets from the trees. No matter how poor they looked, these were still super geno trees.
Bian gained over a million life drops after absorbing from all the trees. He left the twenty-four life essence were they were, since the white serpent refused to swallow the essences.
Taking a deep breath, Bian became a Jade statue. Running the full Jade body was very taxing, but was worth the boost in power it gave.
He inched closer to the halberd, worried the white snake would die from the pressure. To his pleasant surprise though, the snake was unperturbed by the crushing gravity.
He moved closer to the massive ten meter halberd, admiring it's quality and sheer destructive potential.
'Those cracks...' Bian looked towards one of the two trees suppling the halberd with energy. He placed a life drop from his soul sea on it, hoping to repair the halberd quickly.
The tree rapidly sucked up the drop, it's life force didn't even get a chance to increase before it was siphoned to the halberd.
Seeing that the tree could take more, Bian supplied it with even more drops.
One, two, five, ten... a hundred... a thousand.
The drops came out like a sprinkle.
Ten thousand.
They came out like a small calm stream of water.
One hundred thousand.
They were gushing out as fast as Bian could provide.
The tree kept absorbing the drops, repairing the halberd at a speed visible to the naked eyes. Once the cracks had healed up, the halberd forcefully absorbed the life force of the two trees turning them to ash.
The ashed fell to the ground under the tyrannical pressure given off by the halberd. Bian could only describe the feeling as walking under a waterfall.
He looked at the now complete halberd, wondering how to use such a weapon.
With his jade body at full potential, Bian figured he would be as strong as a super creature. He held the shaft of the halberd, using all his might to move the weapon.
"Its.... not... budging!" Bian groaned in disbelief. He let go of the halberd and stepped back, giving the white snake a chance to do its thing.
The Ivory Serpent slithered up the pole of the halberd ignoring the tyrannical pressure around it. It opened its wide maw and swallowed the end of the halberd, moving its way to the blade.
It consumed the seven meter long shaft, the huge axe-like blade and the pike untop. It was like watching a TV show for Bian, the uncanny ability of the small snake to swallow huge objects.
Tremble! The ground shakes and quakes.
The halberd was gone, but so was it's gravitational effect. The force holding the island together in the sky was gone.
