Night was the time that many fear, it was only cause there was demons that roamed under the cloak of night. Not only that but the blind beast become more aggressive as well, it was like they knew that the night was on there side. The night was their time.
Devastate made a sound toward Adder and his words, he didn't dislike him. If anything he deserved the attack from Adder, if it was not for him his father would still be alive.
Belle looked at Devastate in a look of concern, she could never hate Devastate only cause the behemoth done so much for her.
She could see that he was not evil, he was someone who was normal like everyone else. Mistakes could not be forgiven so easily but she did.
Adder walked away with Nina by his side, Devastate watched them leave. His injury on his neck was slowly recovering, and with Gambit's help it would heal in no time.
"Devastate...?", asked Belle looking up at him.
"What is it?", replied the behemoth as he looked at her curiously.
Belle couldn't help but stare at him silently before long she smiled shyly at him. "If I asked you to stay with me, would you?"
Devastate gave her a funny face, she always had a knack for saying things. It was like she didn't care sometimes. "Why are you asking me this?"
Belle smiled as she looked away in her embarrassment, before she could say anything did the both of them freeze up to Gambit's words. "Can you just say yes? Isn't it obvious she has the hots for ya?"
Belle covered her face to Gambit's words, Devastate on the other hand flushed hard and fast.
Gambit looked at the two of them in a bored way, though he had a smirk upon his lips as he looked at the two.
Love was blind to looks and size.
Gambit walked over to Belle as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "You better seal the deal or else someone will come up and take her away."
Devastate blinked and he frowned sourly, "Are you implying something?"
Belle looked at Gambit and then at Devastate in a confused manner. "..?"
Gambit smirked with his eyes closed, he was oblivious to his words. He opened his eyes as he looked after Nina, all the while he was unaware of the danger before him.
"Oh, I'm just trying to get you to understand that Belle is a real treat.", Gambit blinked when he heard a loud growl. His body stiffened as he looked up at Devastate who was glaring daggers.
"Whoa! Why are you getting all mad!?!", sharply replied Gambit as he removed his arms from Belle. "I don't like her in that way! Besides, how long will you make her wait!"
There was a way to talk to someone, but this was not how you go about it.
Grim watched as Devastate stomped on Gambit dully. He snorted and stalked away as he went to find another place to rest.
Belle looked at Gambit as he lay on the ground, he was unconscious before her. She looked up at Devastate who huffed in his jealousy. "I think he was trying to help..?"
Devastate blinked abruptly at her words, "What!"
Belle giggled softly at him before walking away, this reaction made Devastate follow her with narrowed eyes. "How was he trying to help? He was pretty much saying he had a crush on you!"
Harmony watched Devastate and Belle with amusement, while Lockjaw lay beside her as he slept.
Helm and Dingo were watching Scarface and Ruby talk, no doubt the both of them still found it funny to see them together.
Why, only cause Ruby would not allow Scarface to go out and hunt today. Something about him needing rest, even though the cut he got was fairly small.
This clan was clearly happy, everyone got along and that was all you wanted to see in a clan. Things were good but how long would that last?
Bloodmaw watched his clan from where he lay, he looked down at Lesion who lay at his side asleep. He worked hard in training today. Lesion also listened to his father, he asked questions as well clearly wanting to learn.
Bloodmaw looked at Swiftscale and Ebony who slept with Jr, and he knew that Jr didn't like that. The youngster does not approve of this as well.
Swiftscale told him what Jr had said, and Bloodmaw couldn't help but feel bad. No parent wants to see their children unhappy. Even if this has to happen, he can't help but feel the way that he does.
Bloodmaw looked at Grim and he made a sound toward him, Grim picked up on his leaders call and stalked over looking ready for what he was going to ask him.
"Grim, you don't mind in helping me train Lesion?", spoke Bloodmaw when Grim was close enough.
Grim looked at Lesion who was asleep, "I will do what you ask of me."
Bloodmaw looked at him with a small smile, "You are skilled in combat and I figured that if he learned from you then it will help him out."
Grim smirked as a chuckle erupted from his maw, "I will make him into a unstoppable warrior."
Bloodmaw smiled, he slowly looked at Jr as he said. "Do you think I am doing the right thing?"
Grim looked at him silently before saying, "I believe you know what you are doing."
Bloodmaw looked at him with a faint smile. "Really?"
Grim nodded as he settled down beside Bloodmaw and Lesion.
Bloodmaw watched as Grim smiled at Lesion and he couldn't help but smile. Grim was like a older brother to his kids, though he was tough around the edges he cared about them.
"Let's hope that things work out.", spoke Bloodmaw as he looked up at the moon.
The moon was large as it rested in the sky, the white glow it gave off completely enveloped the lands in its caress. It was quite breathtaking, if it wasn't for the blind making their calls each night it would be peaceful and serene.
Devastate frowned at Belle, "Do you like him?"
Belle laughed as she placed her petite hands on his large feet, "I like everyone."
Devastate snorted not happy about that response. "So you like everyone? Does that mean you like Baldur?"
Belle looked down as she said, "I can't fully hate everyone, but I..."
Devastate closed his eyes, he knew that Belle was some what sheltered. She was kind, sweet, and very open. She didn't have any kind of hate or malice within her soul. How could she exist in such a harsh and unforgiving world?
Some days he can't help but think that she was not real. But when she touches him and she cries for him, it was clear that she was real.
If he had not of saved her from Baldur, she would of died.
"I know. Forget I asked.", replied Devastate as he looked down at her.
Belle shook her head as she said, "I know, this world is not kind. I shouldn't be so trusting and I know that..."
Devastate frowned before closing his eyes, he was going to say something that he never thought he would. Of course he missed his family that he had lost, but that was then and this was now. "No matter what happens I will keep you safe. I don't want you to hurt or suffer so I will stay with you."
Belle looked up at him with a red face, she covered her face only cause she knew what he meant or she thought she knew. This was his confession in a odd sort of way. "S-so you...?"
Devastate looked at her as he nodded with a bit of a flustered expression, "Yeah..."
Belle smiled softly as she wiped her eyes with her hands, she was crying clearly but they were not sad tears but happy ones.
The behemoth had made a commitment to be with her to keep her safe, he was going to stand by her until the very end. Their relationship is without a doubt odd, but the both of them had genuine feelings.
"Let's rest okay?", spoke Devastate as he laid down with his eyes closed. He hoped he could sleep tonight.
Belle nodded as she walked over to him, she softly touched his large head as she said. "Thank you for being a part of my life."
Devastate grumbled in his embarrassment which made Belle giggle happily.
Living was a gift, by living you experience many different things.
Emotions. Love. Happiness. Friendship. Families.
All of these were different for everyone, but that feeling of genuine happiness was the same no matter how different it was.
That feeling of being complete was a wonderful feeling, and so many would fight to the end of the world to protect it.
Once time passes by, and the world fully changes then what would happen?
It was impossible to make everyone happy, but still were they ready for the change when Lesion and Jr become teens?
Dreadtooth was not going to stop until his daughter was married, Bloodmaw knew this but what he was worried about was about his children.
Lesion was happy with Dreadtooth's daughter Fiala, but Dreadtooth didn't seem all to happy with Lesion. What if this was a mistake?
Should he risk his kids even knowing it will not work out?
As everyone slept, Bloodmaw kept thinking about it. Every single parent wants to see their child happy, they want them to succeed. If Lesion was to marry Fiala, what would Dreadtooth do to him?
Bloodmaw glanced at Lesion, his concern evident on his face.
He won't know anything until later, when the both of them were teens. Dreadtooth of course will come back again with Fiala, only cause Fiala got along so well with Lesion.
Or would Dreadtooth keep his daughter away from Lesion, after seeing they got along so well.
The more he thought about it, the more he became aware that this was a bad set up. Grim had spoke to him about believing in him and his decisions.
But even a leader can have his doubts.
Bloodmaw sighed looking down, the weight of the arrangement rests on him and only him. If he were to decide against it, Dreadtooth and his clan would no doubt retaliate against him for breaking up the pact.
Dreadtooth would overpower him and his clan before he even had a chance to think.
The only thing that he could do was to get Lesion prepared for anything. He would trust in his children and believe in them. If Lesion could some how impress Dreadtooth then it would work out.
If Dreadtooth is set in his ways believing that Lesion was not good enough well he would make the hardest decision and break the pact.
Jr would never marry Fiala only cause he spoke against the pact from the start, where as Lesion volunteered himself to be Fiala's spouse only cause he wanted to please Bloodmaw.
The more Bloodmaw watched his children, the more he saw them changing. They were going to be teens before he knew it, and that wedding was going to come up upon them fast.
Was he ready for it? That he didn't know.
As he watched his clan and the moon up above, all he could do was trust in his children as well as his clan. Things would work out, that he had to believe in.
The moon was high in the sky, every single person blind or conscious could see it resting high in the blackened sky. Smaug stood in the center of camp, he was still acting as leader until Sharpclaw could get back on his feet.
Sharpclaw had mentioned about being in a clan war, which was declared by a clan of rexes.
Smaug was going to stick around and take part in it for his own reasons. This clan was not struggling anymore, thanks to his presence everyone here was working hard.
Though he had little knowledge on what to do as leader, he felt stronger somehow. This whole time he has been seeing to everyone as well as teaching Cobalt about herbalism. She was eager to learn, though she kept staring at him for some reason.
Smaug could not help but tease her sometimes, and it was funny how she reacted when he did so. Heh, laughter aside he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had.
Something was going to happen, and it was going to happen really soon.
