Lord Eternum's Task Part 2

He landed as thunder storms had appeared over the Great Desert, no rain, only thunder, "I can't fly with this storm," His wings folded and hid themselves in his back, "Time to walk then," He began walking onto the sand that lay from there to the end of his vision. There were no roads, no paths for anyone in the Great Desert. As he walked, several bolts hit the ground near him and with a flash of light, a figure appeared, "What on earth?"

"Walk with me, my son," The figure said as a path formed under his feet, "You have done a lot, a large part of my task," Vidian walked next to Lord Eternum's figure, "You know what awaits you."

"Yes, I do, Lord Eternum, I have been preparing myself for this, the gods of this world have helped me plan what I could do."

"You cannot plan for this."

"I was guessing that," Vidian sighed, "But I have to fight, and there is nothing I can do now."

"Of course there is."

"No, Lord Eternum, I had that choice when you originally offered the task, this world deserves more than a quitter, and man that backs down when he is more than halfway there."

"I believe I chose well then."

"Did you make me like this? Give me this destiny?"

"My son, you see, I do not give destinies to the souls Naturania creates, I am not that type of creator, I only allow life to happen by giving it time, I am the base of life but not the director of life."

"There are so many things mortals get wrong about the gods above."

"I know, we all know, maybe it is because we cannot affect the world below directly, we do not interact with the people on earth."

"Wait, but, in Solarianus?"

"That was not my deed, but Lord Sionar, I tasked him with that."

"Oh," He looked forwards, "And the creatures of the Great Desert? What will they do? Will they attack me?" Lord Eternum chuckled, "What?"

"Lady Temprania has that covered," He said as he walked with Vidian, "I must tell you something, Vidian, like Lord Inventaariy, the gods above have been watching you for a while, we have been observing how you act and frankly, I believe that you are more than fit for this."

"It might seem irrelevant, but why not give Lord Draktha the role of absolute evil as Lady Celenstia is the absolute good?"

"Before I created them, I was good but I could not be bad as well, so I had to create that creature, and have it embody evil, and allow me to create the rest of the world you know."

"But, does that mean that you couldn't give him that role?"

"Yes, it does, Vidian."

"I assume you will once the beast is dead."

"Yes, I will, of course, once the beast is dead."

"Thank you for everything, Lord Eternum."

"You did seem to enjoy some of your works and also the cities you went to."

"I guess you could say that, but now I am here."

"This is my work, the Work of Time, the task I gave you encased all the works and now this one, this is the final step of your journey."

"I accept your work, Lord Eternum, I will complete it, what happens if I fail?"

"The world as you know it will end, and the beast will kill everyone and everything," Lord Eternum spoke coldly, "You cannot fail this wok."

"Then I will not, but I doubt that I will succeed flawlessly."

"I don't except you too, but I will not punish you if you fail."

"Can I ask Lord Zenith and Lady Diana a favor?"

"Go ahead."

"I am going to talk to the beings of this world, and I would like for both the moon and the sun to be up, as a signal, and if I succeed, have the dawn break over the lands and if not, may dusk cover the lands."

"Well, that will be your choice, I shall leave you, you are getting closer than you think," A blot hit the floor and his vanished. He created the orb that Lord Morrius had given him and pressed it to his throat.

"People of the Eternal Domain, I am Vidian of the Great Desert," He began, "I might not know you, but I know some of you, I will be finishing my quest today, I will not be around for much longer, but I will give my last instants to our world," He paused and looked ahead, "Gather with your gods, gather with the people you care about, as the fate of our world lays in my hands, I will be facing the Death of the World, the moon and the sun will be raised as I fight, but there is no need to panic for this, I will not fail our world, dawn will break when I defeat the beast, dusk will fall if I fail, but this will be the last time I will be a human, I am giving my life for this world, but I am not the hero of this world, the heroes are the ones you see as heroes, I do not need to be remembered nor worshiped, I only ask that you live your lives the way you want to, I shall now end my speech here, I will make it right for our world," He stopped talking and the orb left his throat and vanished. His wings spread on his back as the moon and the sun appeared in the sky and the thunderclouds over the desert dissipated.
