'Ding' "System upgrade complete... Now rebooting..."

When Ragna heard the notification, he immediately stood up. "No need to worry, I'm alright. Let's just go back to sleep." Before Elise or Reki could respond, Ragna already closed his eyes and pretended to fall asleep.

The two girls who by now understood a bit of Ragna's personality didn't continue to ask questions. They believe when Ragna is ready, he himself will open up to them.

Ragna felt the two girls going back to sleep. 'Ok their asleep, now I can concentrate in thinking... That dream must be something the system made me see. Their were a bunch of differences from the dream and my actual memory that stood out. My mom died a few years after giving birth to me, but in the dream my Dad was the one who hit her and made her stumble to her death. Also in the dream dad was much more attentive of me, than my real dad... The dream also made it look like I was poor, or someone from a middle class family, but that's not right my Dad was a rich motherf*cker that never paid attention to me.

The only thing that was the same in the dream and in my memory, was the bullies and how I started being an otaku. Also the homeschooling was correct, but it was done on a different level. The one in my dream made it seem like I only finished high school, but I actually have a college diploma. That stupid Dad of mine would never allow his only son to be a dropout shut-in.

What was the purpose of that dream, why did the system... No even if it wasn't the system what was the purpose of manipulating my memory of the past? The dream... It seem like it wanted me to hate the bullies even more, also it wanted me to think I was the one who killed my mother, and finally to hate or fear my shitty Dad.

The bully scene in my dream was truly exaggerated, I was never physically hurt, I was just the receiver of bad rumors and no one talked to me. I was never kicked, and spitted upon no one would dare do that because of my father. The death of my mother in the dream was it to make me feel responsible for her death? My mother died due to lung cancer when I was eight, she died as she lived, with a sad smile on her face.

My mother would never blame me for her death, and I was but a kid so I really couldn't do anything. I never did blame myself for my mother's death, but I do miss her warmth.

Then the scene with my father, in the dream he was always there but he was still a shitty father. Still at least my real shitty Dad, made millions and wanted nothing from me, aside for me to be happy. My Dad who was never home, but gave me everything. My dad who built his company from the ground up, for the sake of his wife and child.

He was the reason mom had a sad smile all the time. She knew he was doing everything for me and mom, she felt like she was his shackles. I guess when mom died, he poured everything on me, not once has he scolded me. Even when I stopped attending school because of the bullying. Even though I did nothing with my college diploma, and just stayed at home playing games. The shitty old man, that shitty dad not once did he come home to scold me. Ever since mom died he never came home, the only reason I could even remember his face was because of his stupid picture in my room.

What was the point of that dream, what's the system playing at?" While Ragna was racking his brain on what the system was planning, he heard the familiar notification sound in his head.

'Ding' "Reboot complete... Overpowered system 2.0 is now active." When Ragna heard the reboot was complete, his recent thoughts about the dream started to turn vague. Ragna couldn't remember what he was thinking about for the past few minutes. He couldn't even remember the contents of the dream he just had. The only thing left was the vague notion of wanting to grow stronger, without the help of the system.

"Yoh host, did you miss me?" Ragna was surprised to hear an upbeat guy voice.

'Are you the one speaking system?'

"Who else could it be but me, partner." When Ragna heard the system's response, Ragna felt something weird, but he just couldn't understand what he was currently feeling.

'Why are you talking like that? You sound like one of those best friend characters in some galge...'

"Oh that! it's part of the upgrade, I got a personality upgrade." When Ragna heard the words personality upgrade, he simply thought what a stupid upgrade.

'Is that all? I waited for 24 hours just so you can talk in an upbeat voice?' Ragna said a bit irritated.

"Whoah there partner, don't be such an uptight a**. Of course that's not all the upgrade did, there are two new functions as well. The first one is the skill comprehension function, this function allows you to quickly learn new abilities and skills by reading. No need to buy from me, As long as you read it you learn it; well this only applies to anything you read from this point on, so no old skills or abilities from you original world, sorry partner."

'Well even like that, it's quite a useful function. I better find a library of sorts and test this new function out. So what's the other function?'

"The next function is a fun one, you have unlocked the mission function. You'll be given a random mission, like this..." A sudden pop up was shown in Ragna's mind.

First mission: Find a random sect, and make them admit that their ants beneath your feet. *note you cannot kill any member of the sect you attack.

Mission rewards: Experience points (low or high depending on their level of reverence to you), 100,000 O.P points, One epic class weapon.

Duration: unlimited
