Why Wait? Go Enjoy it Now!

Riding up to the twenty-fifth floor, Lu Wen led the way, bringing Wang Li towards a room in the back. It was a corner room so two of the four walls were all glass, revealing a great view of the other city.

It was also large, larger enough to fit over a hundred people, and certainly had enough space for his equipment.

He walked around, studying the room.

Lu Wen smiled as he watched his friend go around.

"Not bad right?" he said.

Wang Li replied but his mind was focused on the room.

"Yeah, yeah, not bad at all. Did they tell you where I can set up or do I get some leeway?" he asked.

"As long as it's not by the glass, you are fine. The room has two large vents so be mindful of that. But, anything else goes."

"Good, good."

He turned back to looked at Lu Wen and pointed at him.

"Come on, let's go get a dolly and move everything but the food."

The pair grabbed the largest dolly possible before going back down to the basement parking lot. Going to the back of Wang Li's truck, he opened it up and felt a cold puff of air come against him.

"What? Are you serious? You put everything in the refrigeration unit?"

Lu Wen even felt the cold air from where he stood.

"What? You got a problem? Maybe don't tell me the day before. Besides, it's fine, it's not like I haven't seen this done before. The gas and charcoal is in the driver's seat but bring the dolly up, Let's move the grill and all of that first."

"O-oh alright, fine. I'll help you out."

"What? You have no choice but to help. Now come on, here's the first bit."

And slowly, they began to load everything up except for the food which stayed inside the truck.

"This is so heavy! You really couldn't get anything lighter or more portable even?" Lu Wen asked.

Wang Li scoffed at him.

"Do you know how much of a difference that would make on the flavor? Besides, I moved all of this into the truck by myself. I don't expect you to come and help me pack up so I might as well have you take it out", he said.

Lu Wen had a sour face but didn't retort, fully knowing that he was in the wrong.

"Fine, fine, at least, it's one trip."

Above them, on the 16th floor, Liu Yang was busy typing away on her computer. That pile of work on her desk had dwindled bit by bit, as she continued to work.

Everyone else had begun to leave as was Ms. Han and Jiang Chen, both of whom stopped by her cubicle.

"Liu Yang? Are you still working?"

The Department Head looked at her in surprise and concern to which Jiang Chen even spoke up.

"I understand that you are looking to prove yourself but self-care is important. Pace yourself, Ms. Liu, or you may end up burning yourself out."

Liu Yang looked at him in surprise after his kind remark before switching to Ms. Han, giving them both a smile.

"Don't worry! Since it is the day before the annual meeting and I won't be by my desk, I thought I'd do a little bit more today. I don't stay late often so it's fine but thank you."

Ms. Han raised a brow before shaking her head with a small smile.

"Alright then, but don't stay too late. The meeting will be starting at 10 AM in the morning and I'd rather you not come tired or sleeping", she warned.

"Will do!"

Liu Yang nodded and waved goodbye to her two superiors before going back to work.

Typing away in the silence, she continued to look through the documents and files on her desk, dealing with them one by one. Every now and then she would stop and stretch, taking a few minutes to rest her eyes.

She didn't stop until the sun had set and the clock struck seven, two hours past her time to leave.

It was also at that time that Wang Li and Lu Wen finished moving their things.

Having fully set everything up in the room, the pair of friends, sat on the floor while breathing heavily. Evidently, both of them were tired from this, Lu Wen especially, who ended up lying on the floor completely.

"Hah, who would've thought that it would be so difficult moving all that. It was just one trip. Why did it take so long?" he said.

Wang Li looked at him.

"Why do you think? The guy who needed a break every time we moved one thing onto the dolly. It also didn't help that the elevator was still a tight fit."

"Yeah, ahahaha, I still can't believe we nearly got stuck between the walls and the grill. Good thing I noticed or else getting out of the elevator would've been hard."

Lu Wen laughed, having thought about the situation they could've ended up in.

"Speaking of, that dolly... whose going to return it?"

The pair looked at each other before they both pointed and shook their heads.

"You."

"No, you."

But Wang Li wasn't going to be playing that sort of game with his friend.

"You put the dolly away and we'll have a bit of dinner right now."

His friend's eyes, immediately lit up as he heard those words.

Lu Wen stood up and looked at Wang Li seriously.

"You better not be lying", he warned.

Wang Li chuckled.

"When have I ever lied to you? Go, go, I'll get the grill started and when you come back, there'll be some good food waiting for you. Besides, I bought a little extra with me, just in case", he explained.

"Alright, but there better be some good stuff on there or I'm bringing back the dolly!"

"Just go, dumbass."

As his friend went off to return the dolly, Wang Li took another minute to lay down before standing up to start his grill. With the flip of a few switches, the vents in the room turned on as he began to light up the coals for the grill and turn the stove on.

Meanwhile, Lu Wen made his way down to the lobby with the dolly next to him. He whistled happily as the elevators opened and he walked out.

At the same time, the doors to another elevator opened as Liu Yang stepped out and headed towards the main doors of the lobby.

It didn't take long for the pair to cross each other and when they did, Lu Wen was the first to recognize her.

"Hey, you're from Wang Li's stall, right? His friend? You work here, don't you?"

Her eyes widened in surprise as she took a step back, not expecting such a greeting. In an instant, she felt herself freeze and her mind go blank to which she could only smile and nod.

Lu Wen smiled as he walked up to her with the dolly by him.

"I know it must be very stressful for you these past few days, especially with that annual meeting tomorrow. Good news though, Wang Li finished setting up on the Sixteenth Floor and he's going to be cooking some dinner. There's no need to wait until tomorrow to enjoy it, just go now and eat. I'm sure he'll be happy to have some company other than me!"
