Talking About One's Day

"So, so? What did he say?"

Hua Lee and Rou Ming were at the edge of their seats, leaning on the table as they looked at Liu Yang with an intense stare. She looked at them back with a strange look.

"He asked if I wanted to start over, as friends..."

Suddenly, their looks of excitement and anticipation turned sour as disappointment found its way in. Seated together in a restaurant, the three friends were having dinner together during the weekend night. During this, Liu Yang revealed her conversation with Wang Li and her two friends were nothing but disappointed.

"Hah? Is that it? He just wanted to start as friends?"

"Tch, all that work we did for nothing."

They looked away from her whilst giving a sour look.

"What? There's nothing wrong with that? I agreed and we left it there."

Liu Yang raised her eyebrows at them, staring at them in surprise. However, her two friends merely scowled at her.

"Hmph, you even agreed? How long do you think it'll take before you two actually get together. We don't have too many years left on this planet and I'm beginning to think that we'll die before anything happens."

Hua Lee pouted angrily.

"What? There's no problem taking things slow! And what is this about all the work "we" did?"

Liu Yang looked at them both, furrowing her brows and frowning at them. Rou Ming spoke up then, taking a bit out of her dinner.

"Nothing, we just went to talk about you. In any case, how do you think it's going to work? You guys call yourselves friends but both of you work at such different times. It's not like either of you can just put down your work and hang out together."

"What does that have to do with this? I can just go to his stall and talk with him. It's not like we're doomed" Liu Yang snapped back.

"I don't know. It's starting to look like it", said Hua Lee.

She sighed, giving a pitiful look to her friend, sharing the same face as Rou Ming. Liu Yang looked at them with a look of betrayal.

"Wha- are you two just going to beat me down or support me? What happened to supporting each other?" she said.

"Alright, we're just playing around. We'll support you."

All of them chuckled and laughed, ending their session of banter.

"Say, what do you guys want to do after this?" Liu Yang asked

The other two thought about it, trying to come up with some suggestions.

"I don't know... Bubble tea? Dessert?"

"Let's go get ice cream, how about that?!"

But Liu Yang and Rou Ming looked at Hua Lee, who suggested the ice cream.

"We just ate all that food and you have space for ice cream?"

Rou Ming looked at her with an incredulous look but Hua Lee shrugged.

"You don't have space for ice cream?"

The other two shook their heads at her.

"It's because you work as a personal trainer. Working out so much, you probably have space for anything", they replied.

Hua Lee smirked at them.

"So? I'm in better shape than both of you. Neither of you even come to the gym with me!"

Rou Ming and Liu Yang looked at each other, showing defeat in front of this active friend of theirs.

"All right you win, let's go get ice cream then."

Hua Lee raised her hands up in victory as the trio left the restaurant, walking down the streets in the night. It wasn't incredibly late and there were still plenty of people around. It was the weekend after all.

Walking along the streets of a bustling city, each of them had a cone in their hands, with a different flavor.

But when a trio of women walks together, they're bound to get some attention.

"Hey, you three! Are you all busy tonight?"

Out from nowhere, was a group of four guys, fashionable dressed and definitely looking to hit on some women. It didn't take much to know what they were after and none of the three were having it.

"Yes, we're busy. We're going to go now. Thank you, goodbye!"

Rou Ming answered quickly, shutting them down, and moved along. But these men weren't going to give up so quickly.

"Come on! Don't you want to have some fun tonight?!"

"Yeah, we know a few clubs around here! You don't want to hang out for a bit? You know, get to know each other?"

One of them stepped forward, moving his hand towards Hua Lee's shoulder. But he couldn't even touch it as she grabbed him by the wrist tightly. So much so that she was crushing his wrist even.

"Ah, ow, ow."

He flinched in pain trying to back off but couldn't escape her iron grip.

"Leave us alone, would you?"

She scoffed at them and let go, throwing him back.

He lost his balance, falling on his butt before being pulled up by his friends. He glared at her and pointed.

"What kind of girl is so rough?! No wonder you're single!"

Pulling back his hand, he held his wrist, massaging it to relieve the pain. The other men stepped forward with their chests puffed out, trying to intimidate them. Just then, a small truck stopped behind them as the door opened.

From inside came a slightly tanned muscular man, wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans. He looked at the women and looking at the men. To Liu Yang's and the other's surprise, it was Wang Li that had come.

"Is something wrong?" he asked.

The first guy glared at him as well.

"Who are you? Get back into your truck and leave! This isn't your business. She hurt my wrist and I'm not leaving until she apologizes!" he shouted.

"Wha- Apologize?! I'm not going to apologize to you! You and your friends here just don't know when to give up!" Hua Lee pouted at them but already clenched her fists together.

"You bitch! I'll make you apologize!"

Wang Li looked and sighed, he turned around, looking around the passenger seat for something

"You said your wrists hurt right?" he asked.

Turning back, he held a pair of cleavers in his hands, looking at the four men with a smile. They stepped back out of fear, gulping down as their eyes switched between his face and the cleavers. Handling them with skill, Wang Li began to sharpen the blades on each other, producing a clear and very scary screeching sound.

"I do have a very simple and quick method to help with that. Just hold out the wrists that hurt.

Standing there with his cleavers, his smile and tone had a very sinister feel to them as he looked at them with a friendly expression.

The four men backed away in an instant, looking at him with fear.

'Yo-you, what do you plan to do?"

"Are you crazy?! We're out in public! You won't do it here, right?"

Wang Li just looked at them and walked forward with an innocent look.

"What do you mean? It'll be quick! I mean who's gonna notice here? It's night time and it looks like there's no one here. Perfect time to grab someone, isn't it?"

The four guys all walked back until they found their backs against the brush.

"So, you want to fix that wrist right?"
