Chapter 68: Clan War

Perseus POV

"I know the prices of the people who will conquer the tower." mom said and stared at me in the eye "But in no way is declaring war on us gods a part of it."

"Oh? Do you think I can't?"

"I know you can, that's the scary part."

"I will only mess with the ones I hate, don't worry. I'll make sure to muster enough strength to fight a true god then."

I will end the Mirage Legion, that's my goal, and once I settle everything else, I will climb this tower without a worry in the world and when that happens, I will reveal myself as 'The Weaver of Calamity' and openly using my true powers.

I will master my powers by then, that's something I have to do if I want to conquer this tower, as strong as I am now, if I don't master my powers, as much as my pride won't allow me to say it, I will not be able to conquer this tower.

"I have a question, mom. Why does the gods seek entertainment from us mortals using the tower? Why is it a requirement for us to join that you caused dungeon breaks? Aren't there better ways to entertain yourselves?"

There's gotta be ulterior motives for creating this tower with rules and laws in it, it can't just be for the sole reason of entertainment.

"That is for you to find out...my son." she answered

This woman, I swear, just tell me now godammit. What's the point of me waiting years or chapters till I find that out?! Please tell me!

"Hopefully the 110th floor isn't some stupid floor where you have to fight a clone of yourself which some cliché shit where the greatest enemy is yourself, so you have to win against yourself to complete the tower."

3rd person POV

<It seems like we might need to make an emergency revamp of the 110th floor, he knows too much.> Amaterasu thought "By the way, I saw this eagle headed man, a beast folk, named Ezio visiting your new girlfriend."

Perseus' expression then got serious after his lax attitude from earlier.

"What the hell is he here?" he asked

"Don't worry, he left after he asked her a few questions." Amaterasu reassured him

<What the hell...I better ask him when I see him again." Perseus thought

The time of the clan war arrived, it is one of the biggest events in a while after the duel of Perseus and Brennan, everyone knew that this is a one sided battle as 2 of the top clans fighting will have an obvious one sided winner.

3 named, 4 veteran and 1 newbie on one side while the other have 2 on the list of the potential hundred 100 and the rest are famous well known successful raiders.

But the named are just much more powerful, the potential 100 are strong, but even a normal raider would know that those are just composed of well known raiders, the strongest ones are the named, if they aren't on that, those powerhouses are usually hidden.

On the stage where the battle will take place, there are 2 opposing medieval castles, one side is a white one while the opposite is a grey one, the raining gold are taking the grey one while their opponent took the opposite one.

There was then an exchange of hostages where Cordelia went to the opposing side while 'The Raining Gold' receive an orc in return.

Cordelia POV

I was led to this treasure chamber that is in this downstairs' basement right behind this throne room where they let their 2 members who are in the potential hundred stand guard, 1 on top of the staircase and 2 guarding in front of the treasure chamber.

The layout of the entrapped room and the castle should be the same, the moment I got into the room, the tower magically warped me in the air and I got chained to the ceiling.

The floor is filled and over flowed with lave and fire golems, there are flying shadow spirits that darkened my surroundings and protecting me, the only place where I can have a foot hold is a small pad of a large tile at the door that is too far away from me.

If I manage to get out of these chains somehow, the spirits would attack me, I also need to get past them and the fire golems who would shoot fireballs at me once I get out of these chains, even if I landed in front of the door, it only open inwards, it has no handles, so they have to either be pushed from the outside or I have to forcibly destroy it after I get past all these golems to be confronted by the guards outside.

I may be a naiad, a type of a water nature spirit, but I am not immune to fire, just some resistance to it.

You might be wondering, shouldn't Zach, Decker and Diana be the one to beat the guards outside and help rescue me...well, read the past few chapters, they are just going to make this worse, somehow, I need a way to get out of here myself.

My dad and brother taught me what to do if I'm chained or something, but I don't want to get out of them yet because it's obvious that these golems in the room would attack me when I do.

I still remember what the bastard said before the prisoner exchange or whatever.

"You got your dad's training, you'll get past the chains, as for the golems and spirits in the room, good luck." he said

"You know, I'm starting to feel less attracted to you the more we know each other."

"Yeah, don't worry, I'm not that desperate for a woman, I'm a demigod who has a blood of a vampire, I can retain my youth till my death if I want to. I will find someone, if no girls want me, I'll just marry a guy or something, I'm truly not that desperate."

"I hate you, my dad trusted you to protect me, not to endanger me."

"Don't worry, you'll definitely be more safe in that entrapped room, trust me."
