The Return 2

The humans returned to their kingdom without any trouble. Since, the overall defence of the kingdom will be taken care by the palace and the boarder defence will be taken care by the corresponding duchy, everyone dispersed immediately. The two dukes greeted the royals and left the palace by their limos, which they came with.

Inside duke Reinheart's limo, Daemon was visibly yawning. sleepiness was relentlessly poking him. He fought the urge to sleep and forced himself to say;

"I decided to join the academy."

It came as a shock for the other two.

"Is that so?" asked the duke.

"Yeah, I want to get strong."

"I see. I'll get your admission ready."

"Thank you, father."

"Classes start in a month. You've a month to get in to shape before entering the academy." Reiner calmly said.

"Hm… a month is enough to recall all of the combat techniques."

"You've to work harder for that."

"I'll work harder for that." Daemon clenched his fist in resolution.

Seeing it both Reiner and duke Reinheart smiled with satisfaction.

'Finally.' Reiner thought.

"Call me when we arrive at home." With that Daemon drifted into sleep.

Daemon was woken up by Reiner when they neared their castle.

"Have we arrived?" He asked while yawning.

"Yes. Wake up or I'll let Daerys inside the car."

Daemon's sleepiness suddenly just washed away when he heard about his little sister's name. she was a force to reckon with. The sheer amount of energy she contains in her little body was immeasurable. Not to mention he is her favourite person. The affection she shows him would have resulted in him breaking multiple bones if not for the fact that he was older and more stronger than her.

'I should get stronger, since she is also growing spontaneously. Once she catches up to me, I would probably be dead.' He thought in horror.

It was already evening. He saw the darkening of the sky. When the car neared the castle, he can see his family on the entrance waiting to welcome them. He was happy to see them.

When the car came to a stop, he stepped out of it. He was immediately overwhelmed, when Daerys literally jumped on his arm.

"How was it? Did you had fun? Did you meet the princess?" He was bombarded by multiple questions from the little kid.

"Calm down." He tried to appease her down which clearly wasn't working.

Sigh "Yes I had fun. And I think I've met both of the princess." He nonchalantly said.

"Both of the princess? You mean the Pegasus princess too?" This time it was Amon.

Seeing Amon's curiosity Daemon smiled slyly.

"Yes, the Pegasus princess herself. Her name is Dahlia. She and I are friends." Daemon arrogantly boasted.

"Pfff… ha ha ha…" Amon laughed clutching his stomach. "You and her are what? Ha ha ha…."

"Why are you laughing, we even danced together." Daemon was getting annoyed.

"What… you are still on it." Amon was still clutching his stomach because of the laughter. He wasn't able to understand how Daemon who never actually lies could lie about something trivial like this. He thought it was because of Daemon's pride that he was forced to tell a lie so that he could appeal in front of him. But the Daemon he knew never was like.

"It's true. I was there." Just then when Amon was contemplating possible reasons for Daemon's lie, like a thunder clap Reiner spoke the truth.

"W-what!?" He was in clear disbelief. "What did you just say brother?" he asked again thinking he must've misheard it. but to his disbelief he heard the same answer.

"I was there when they danced." He said again.

The rest of the family was watching the exchange with amusement.

"You mean… they danced? Together?" He couldn't believe what he heard. Daemon wasn't particularly super into girls, though he fooled around in his younger days, Amon thought the kid wasn't a Romeo like him. But for him to actually pull something like this, he was genuinely amused.

"Oh… How was she?" He asked recovering from the shock.

"The very best. The sweetest and presumably the most beautiful I've seen." Daemon exaggeratedly told.

All of a sudden, he saw through his peripheral vision that a little hand coming extremely fast to his stomach. Even though he saw it coming he wasn't fast enough to block it. To his terror the little fist connected perfectly with his stomach, sending him couple of metres tumbling on the ground.

The pain wasn't too much, he was glad she pulled back the punch.

"Who was the most beautiful lady?" The little devil cracked her knuckles, the cracking sound seems like death toll for him.

"It was just an exaggeration. Of course, you're the most beautiful one my beloved sister." He squeezed the voice not because he wanted but because of necessity.

"As long as my brother remembers." Her demeaner changing 180 suddenly.

'Shit. I should definitely get stronger.'

"Daerys, they just came back. Give him some space." The duchess said mellowly.

"Oh. Sorry brother." With that she didn't approach him.

'Thank you, mother.' He gave her a thumps up in his heart.

Recovering he asked "Where is Aegor?"

He didn't saw his youngest brother anywhere. Though they weren't close like with Reiner and Amon, he was still his little brother. Aegor's twin sister was here. That was not normal. Normally wherever Aegor is Aurelia was also there. It was not everyday where you see both of them separated. Oh, and Aurelia is also cold and distant with him for reasons he didn't even understand. But since both of them were his family, he does sometimes make effort to get close.

"He is out for something related to academy." Duchess answered.

"Oh. Hey Aurelia."

"Was Draciyan present there?" Aurelia coldly asked.

"Uh… no. He wasn't." He solemnly replied.

"I see." With that she turned on her heels to walk away.

"What the hell did I even do to her, for her to act like that way?" Daemon contemplated.

"Oh. You don't know?" Amon chimed in.

"Know what? Have I done something to piss her off?" Daemon confusedly asked.

"Well, the girl is head over heels for Draciyan Dragonborn. She thought they could have chance since Marielle was betrothed with you. But you blew it off and her chance with it. Ever since that she was cold to everyone." Amon helplessly explained.

"The hell. For a boy?" Dameon was in disbelief after hearing it. is this love or something? He couldn't understand it.

"Drop it. Mum has made delicious meals. Go and freshen up before coming for dinner." Amon grabbed Daemon's shoulder and walked.

"Ah, you must be in hurry to know about the princess." Daemon slyly asked.

"Of course, as my brother you're obliged to say the details." Amon slyly replied.

"Very well brother I'll explain you the beauty and the graces I've seen in the high council."

The duchess just shook her head seeing the brotherly interaction.
