The Lordling And The Princess

After her announcement about the sudden training, Madelyn, without even waiting for her students to comprehend what she just said, left the hall, her violet hair rhythmically swaying with her pace.

"Oh, looks like you're right but what are we supposed to do?"

Draciyan along with his elite members suddenly started to leave the class and like in queue the other students also started to walk behind them.

"Well let's go to the training hall, shall we?" Daemon stood from his seat and spoke.

The training hall was outside their building. Like other buildings in the campus, it was huge. It was double as the size of the wing S dormitory. It was understandable as the number of students in this academy is large and multiple sessions of training are on the curriculum.

Inside the training hall was… mostly empty. It was fairly a long and large hall. The floor was made of soft yet sturdy material and on the walls multiple weapons hung. There were all kinds of swords and other weapons you can imagine.

Professor Madelyn clapped her hands once again to garner all of the curious eyes present on the hall. When the seemingly endless murmurs and whispers lowered, she opened he mouth;

"You're free to do anything here except for of course, killing, unsanctioned duels."

"Then what the hell are we supposed to do?"

"If we can't even challenge others, what are we supposed to do here?"

There was all kind of commotion going on and as the students weren't able to comprehend what was going on. They thought since it was class time and not their individual training time, which they do after classes, they could actually fight against other students.

"All the duels can only be sanctioned after your rankings. So, for that long you'll be training here one on one or however you like," Madelyn's crisp and melodious sound rang through the hall. She clapped her hands twice. The training hall slightly shook and various training equipment's, mannequins and targets started to appear from the walls and floors of the hall.

"What the!?"

"Where did that come from?"

There were various outcries of students. Exclamations, amusement and excitement were written on the students face. This was only for the other students though. Daemon and the students from the great families have already experienced this type of luxuries, so they weren't that excited about it.

"Shut up peasants!" A high voice rang through the hall. It was Lycus Connal, the second son of duke of Connal duchy. Daemon's blood boiled seeing him, how can he not, Lycus was one of the bullies from Daemon's younger days. One of the people who genuinely made him cry but what made him truly sad is the fact his sister and brother are with him, even though they know about him being bullied. He took a deep breath seeing him. Calmed his nerves and watched the red-haired beetle bickering.

"What! you haven't even seen a training hall like this?" His voice gradually increasing as the hall grew silent.

"Not everyone is sons and daughters of dukes, Lycus," A black haired girl with same-coloured eyes answered him "Some of us are from the lower realm and 'No,' we haven't seen anything like this." She continued.

Lycus smiled a creepy smile. Dameon's blood began to boil again seeing the creepy dude's creepy smile.

"Is all of you lordlings have that creepy smile?" Neril asked contorting his face like he have seen something very ugly.

"Nah, that's his signature creepy smile. I think he was like since his birth."

Neril didn't know if he was joking or not. He decided to drop the subject altogether and refocused on the event.

"Then why are you wasting your time here. Don't you know this academy is the most precious academy in the whole human realm, and it is not for peasants like you to tarnish its prestigious name." He flicked his hair like some old actor from old movies. Showing his elegance or something…

"Well, Lycus, if that was the case then they wouldn't had accepted us in the first place."

"Well, that is true. What can I say, the management surely needed to change. If they are allowing peasants and trashes," Lycus looked at Dameon and smiled "to tarnish the academies name, then they must surely have to change, what do you think Draciyan. My words are correct, right?"

"That's enough!" And before Draciyan Dragonborn could open his mouth to reply, Madelyn's shout echoed throughout the hall. "I don't know what type of illusions you're feeding yourself, Lycus, this academy is not funded by the royals nor the duchies, it is funded by the people. So that means this academy is for everyone around the human realm; peasants or lordlings- they are equal here," Her loud voice reverberating through the now silent hall. "Now why don't you all just go practice yourself."

Daemon was fuming. He had a creepy smile on his face like the one Neril had seen on Lycus. Neril truly now believes the lordlings are creepy. He has also seen the mocking smile Lycus has given Daemon and he also knows about the bad blood between them.

"Daemon, this is not the time for doing anything. You are not as powerful as him right now, you can—"

"What are you talking about, Neril." Daemon was looking at Neril like some kind of lunatic talking about something entirely different.

"Wha-what? I thought you were going to do something to him?" He stuttered seeing Dameon's impassive face like the one who just now was creepingly smiling was not him at all.

'Fuck! All of them are lunatics. How the hell did I even thought about being with these types of lunatics.'

"What are you talking about, Neril. I don't have any plans to attack anyone here. I'm here to study and not to stir up troubles or anything. Come friend, lets practise to our content." With that Dameon slowly walked towards one of the corners where weapons were hanging.

"Rig-right, lets practise."

'Shit! Truly a maniac.' He wasn't sure what Daemon would stir up, but seeing his menacing smile he was sure something would happen very soon. With confusion in his mind, he slowly walked towards the lordling.

All of this was watched by someone who had snow white hair and crystal blue eyes. She had been curious about him since a long time. When she heard he was also visiting the High Council, her curiousness doubled. There was something about that boy that made her very uncomfortable but in a curious way.

"Estella, what are you looking at?" A sweet voice entered through her ears. It was Dameon's, the boy in questions sister, Aurelia. Though she was friends with her, she didn't ask her about him. He was like a forbidden enigma among their group. It was understandable, since Marielle Dragonborn was also betrothed to him and later cancelling it, he wasn't brought up in the conversation. The only one who actually talked about him was Lycus, for trash talking about him, which of course wasn't a pleasant thing to here.

"I have someone to meet, I'll join you guys later."

"O-okay, don't be late."

"Yeah, sure." With that she slowly made her way to the crimson eyed boy.
