The Lordling And The Princess 2

"Hey that's cheating." Neril said gritting his teeth. He was plopped down on the ground or more precisely, he was pushed down by the sudden use of mana from his training partner, Daemon.

"What! You sobbing like a little girl now?" Daemon chuckled.

"I thought magic were not allowed in the training?" He stood up and patted his pants to shake of dust.

"Who said that? As far as my knowledge extends, there wasn't any rules like that or was there?" Daemon comically rested his hands on the chin and stood there like thinking about something.

"y-you!" Neril's was getting tomato red but decided to drop it since he knows talking to this lordling is time waste.

"See, you also don't remember any rules like that, right?" Dameon spoke seeing Neril wasn't speaking anything.

"Fine! If you want to use magic—" His word stopped as he saw the girl who was standing behind his friend. Her crystal blue eyes calmly watching their exchange.

"What! What are you looking at?" Daemon asked seeing his friend's stupefied expression. Neril slowly gestured his eyes behind him. Daemon slowly looked behind to see the princess standing there with her hands crossed.

"I was just waiting for you guys to finish your session." She politely said seeing both of their bewildered expression.

"Um… princess, how can we help you?"

"I just wanted to talk to you. If that's okay with you?"

"Well, I guess I'll be training over there." With that Neril literally ran towards the other end of the training hall.

Students were slowly starting to gaze up on them. The princess meeting the failed prodigy. They were sharpening their eyes and ears for getting anything from the duo. After all they also saw it was the princess who approached him first not the other way, so they thought it was due to something the failed prodigy has done.

"Students are watching us, if you don't want to garner unwanted rumours you better make it fast whatever you're here for."

"You care about what others think?"

"What! No, its not me. I'm talking about you getting unwanted rumours," He looked at the innocently smiling princess "Why are you here, Estella?"

"Oh, calling my name, are you?" She was amused.

"Well professor Madelyn just said everyone is equal, so what's the harm?" He boyishly smiled. He understood the princess was here for not only talking to him but to do something else. He didn't comprehend what it was but he decided to see where it will go.

"I see. Well, if that's make you comfortable then you can call my name."

"So, why are you here?"

"I heard you're an avid reader, Daemon. is that right?"

"Yes, I do read quite a lot. What about it?"

"Do you read ancient and historical books too?"

"Yes, I do."

"What do you know about the draconian language?"

Up to that point Daemon was watching her casually but his demeaner changed when she mentioned the draconian language. How could he not, he has been researching about it for the past six years. The whole reason he dropped from literally everything was because of this language, something he saw on his dreams.

In his dreams there was an old lady who talked to him but since the language was foreign to him, he never really understood it. He wasn't disheartened about it since he had eidetic memory, he could recall the dream pretty much easily but the problem was something she showed him at the end of his dream, that was the same thing that pushed him to his slump. It made him crawl in fear. Since then, he researched extensively for any knowledge about the language only to find it was the lost language of the dragons. He tried to learn the ancient draconic language but it was of no vail, as the language was long lost and the only one who really knows about it was the dragons themselves and they have been out of the pictures for more than many centuries.

"I don't know this 'draconian language' you're talking about, by its name, it seems the dragonborn would know about it." He played it safe since he wasn't sure about what her role in all of this.

His change in demeaner wasn't unnoticed by Estella, she knew something was up but since he wasn't ready to speak anything she didn't push it.

"I see—"

"What are you doing with him, princess." An annoying voice interrupted the princess. It was of course, the elite party and Lycus was looking at Daemon like he was some sort of vermin.

Since the commotion was loud, now more and more students started to gather to see the turmoil.

"Daemon, what did you do?" Aurelia went up to Dameon to question him. Seeing the gathering up, she thought her useless brother has done something.

"He didn't do anything; I was the one who approached him." Her question however was answered the princess herself.

"If you need anything you could have asked us, Estella, why did you approach him. He is pretty much useless since he was a shut down for the past six years." Loud laughter erupted from the crowd as they watched the sister herself belittling the brother.

"Yeah, that's right. Why did you approach him? Are you in need of a servant or butler?" The intensity of the laughter only grew as Lycus again opened his mouth.

Daemon was getting annoyed. He was sad because of what Aurelia said then he got annoyed seeing Lycus after that he got angry at the princess for dragging him down. His breath getting heavy.

"He will surely make a great servant for you. The failed prodigy of the Reinheart duchy as the princess servant." His hoarse laughter was intensified when the spectators too increased their volume.

"Well can't—"

"That's enough Lycus," His laughter was interrupted by the princess. "I'm here because I wanted to talk with him. It's not because I want him as a servant or anything. If I want a servant, I'll surely will send an official letter to your duchy for ordering you to be my servant. After all, like you said, you'll be useful as a servant to me than him." She annoyingly said.

"Princess, I was—"

"Give me your phone." He was once again interrupted by the princess as she gestured her hands towards Daemon.

He looked at her for a second and then sighed as he took his phone out of his dimensional ring before handing it to the princess.

She grabbed the phone and typed some numbers in it before handing it back to Daemon.

"That's my personal number. If you want to talk, then call me on it." The princess walked away after that. Audible gasps could be heard from the students. After all they just witnessed something gossip worthy. The princess exchanging her personal number with a duke's son. Their hearts were beating fast. Is this the start of a romance. They couldn't wait for the development to happen.

"Wh-why did she gave you her number?" this time it was Aegor who asked. He was surprised, even he only got her number after he asked many times and here is his useless brother, getting her number from the princess herself, without even asking. His heart was restless.

But alas, Daemon just scoffed at him before walking away.

"Hey, I ask—"

"Hey, isn't the show over. Go back to your training session." Professor Madelyn shouted. She was watching all of the commotion, but since it was the princess herself, she didn't interfere. She wanted to know what was the uptight and noble princess doing with the loose case like Daemon. She was surprised to see the development. Not to mention the princess herself voluntarily giving her number to him. Which was suspicious and amusing.

'Well, that was… amusing. What did you do Daemon, for the princess to give her number to you?' She mused herself as she watches the kids returning to whatever they were doing.
