The High Council 2

Daemon followed his brother and the other two towards the end of the room where he saw large curtains. Reiner gracefully swept the curtains a little for the others to enter, which they did. Daemon along with them entered through the curtains, where he saw many chairs. He wasn't surprised as Reiner had already told him about the observing space. The space is for other important personals who isn't participating in the meeting to wait and observe. Since whatever important decisions are made here, it will directly affect the kingdom in either bad or good ways, so these personals are here to witness them. Not just humans, other races peoples were also present in other parts of the room, behind the curtains. The curtains are used as a barricade, as the representatives can make decision without any pressure from any sides.

Daemon was slowly settling down on the chair when he heard the Pegasus lord's voice.

"The Orcs of Gladiel kingdom."

He was shocked. He even thought he must have misheard it but seeing his brother's and the others, he was sure what he heard Is true. It's not because of the savage nature of the orcs, its because nobody in the alliance thought they would seek help from other races. They refused the first time when they were asked to join forces telling they were of warrior races and would never seek out help from other races. Though they were savages they never actually attacked other races in fact they never had any relation with the other races, be it fury or peace.

"What! Why?" Howled the dwarven king.

"Because they requested to join the alliance." The Pegasus lord calmly said without any facial change.

"You never asked us about our opinion on the matter." Said the elven king.

"You are free to express your opinion, whether to reject or to welcome them to the alliance. I would welcome them since we could use all of the help we can get for the war. If you won't accept them, I could send them away. But beware that their help will only be useful. Not to mention they are a clan of warriors." Pegasus lord spoke serenely.

The kings turned towards their advisors for a quick meeting. The tension in the atmosphere grew heavy again. coldness was building up. Amidst the tension, King conrad gathered all of the attention of the room by saying.

"I would welcome them whole heartedly."

Which was met with confused looks from everyone present. Normally he is someone who is nit-picky about anything but for him to agree with something huge matter like this, everyone even the Pegasus lord was looking puzzled at him.

"Can you explain why you think it would be a good idea to welcome the Orcs.?" Asked the elven king with the same confusion everyone has.

Expecting such a question King Conrad answered;

"Well, the orcs are just like the lord said a 'warrior race.' And not to mention they are highly populated too. if we were to welcome them to the alliance then our strength would increase drastically against the Braharis. Not to mention they hold the east side of the continent, which could be used as a strategic point in the coming war." King Conrad said with such a confidence that everyone thought he had drunk some intelligence booster potion which doesn't really exist.

"Though the orcs had rejected our offer earlier it was within our expectation that they would eventually seek us, but never thought it would happen this fast." Said the elven king.

"We are okay with that too. Their strength could be highly useful in the war." The dwarven king chimed in.

"Admit it, you just want to trade your weapons to the orcs since they are of warrior races, they would surely need weapons." The elven king spoke directly to the dwarven king annoying the later.

"Think what you want, I'm not going to play that game with you, Helgawyn. I meant what I said. Their strength will only be useful for us." Snorted the small king.

"Since all of you agree with the matter allow me to welcome them." The lord waved his hands to one of his personals, he quickly went outside.

Daemon was getting really excited. He never thought he would get to see many different species than he had anticipated.

After a minute or so the same voice of the announcement was heard on the room.

"Now entering, the orcs of Gladiel kingdom."

Out of the door came four large muscular orcs. Like in the stories they were green. With small tusk protruding from their mouth like a tooth but curving outwardly. The one who seemed to be like the orc chief had a large red scar across his face. They all had long black hairs. Each one of their steps sent tremors through the room. Even from across the room Daemon could feel tremors through his feet. Needless to say, his excitement went skyrocketed. He was grinning wildly, eyes fixed on the orcs. He could feel their power. If the other races were calm and gracious this race was wild and ferocious. He could feel the amount of mana that was emanating from them. Even though the orcs are suppressing it, the mana still leaked. The quality was amazing.

The orc chief is definitely too strong. Daemon thought while grinning.

Marakin looked at the annoying kid and thought he was going crazy. Reiner shook his head looking at his younger brother who was excitedly looking at the orc chief. He knew his brother admired strong people, before his 'fall,' Daemon's one of the crazy ideas was to fight strong people. Now that he has seen the ferocious aura of the orcs, Reiner couldn't help but think that his brother's crazy ideas are coming back. Which was a good thing considering he is coming back to his old self.

The crown prince was thinking about what is he grinning for. Though he also thought Daemon was crazy he couldn't help but worry about his father. Since he knows his father is weak, he wasn't sure if his father could withstand the orcs aura. But was relieved that the dukes and advisors were with him.

The orcs slowly and strongly walked towards the round table. When the orc chief came near the empty chair he abruptly stopped. He wasn't sure if he could sit. The Pegasus lord gestured him to sit sensing the turmoil in the orc chief's mind. With the lord's confirmation he sat on the chair.

An awkward silence filled the room making everyone very uncomfortable but soon the silence was broken by the orc chief himself.

"I'm Drohk, son of Throhk of the great Gladiel kingdom. I'm here to represent my kingdom in the alliance." The orc chief said in confidence and commanding voice of an orc which befitting him.

Silence still prevailed on the room. everyone was looking at the chief, which made him uncomfortable but without showing it outside he again spoke;

"I'm here to join forces with the alliance for the upcoming war. We have rejected your offer once, thinking we, the orcs, a proud clan of warriors should never join forces with other races for any type of war. I was naive at that time; thought we could hold off against any of them without anyone's help but I was wrong. Their power seems to be greater than any we have seen. I'm here to make any amends for rejecting your offer earlier but if you allow us to join forces with you, we will surely will be helpful in the war." He said it with such serious tone that everyone was left speechless. Everyone thought orcs were some bunches of barbarians who doesn't speak and only wildly charge at anyone, but seeing someone from that same clan spoke like a true ruler, they all were left speechless.

The Pegasus lord had a thin smile on him since he had already talked with the orcs and he wasn't surprised that much.

"All of them have already accepted your request. You don't have to worry about anything regarding your clan's acceptance to the alliance and we are sure you will be helpful to the war just like everyone here." The lord spoke calmly.

"Now that everyone has settled in let us talk about the important matter first."
