Captured

Nagato never felt such vulnerability. His entire body had been drained of power, strained from the accidental use of Tesseract. Slowly, his eyelids slid away.

A place unfamiliar to him spread through the horizon. Darkness enveloped every corner of the vacancy, for the Tesseract was the only thing excluding light.

Instead of exploring the place further, however, Nagato stumbled onto the ground. He could barely stand on his two feet, much less use his powers. It would at least take him a day to recover.

"This power may be incredible, but it's too straining on the body." Nagato inspected the Tesseract. "If I use it regularly, my body will undergo permanent damage."

Nagato sighed, putting the Tesseract down onto the ground. His best option was to keep the Tesseract secured until finding the remaining parts of its power.

Nagato then stood up, pushing himself past the limits of his body. He truly had no more chakra, and it took a much longer time to recuperate in this world. Still, he summoned the King of Hell.

It rose from beneath the gloom, barely appearing in its full form. Nagato fell to his knees, breathing heavily. Dark bags formed underneath his eyes, but he didn't lose consciousness.

"Guard it." Nagato threw the Tesseract into its mouth, and it closed rapidly. Then, not getting any of Nagato's chakra, slid back into the seclusion.

Immediately, Nagato felt as if a boulder fell off his shoulders. The presence of the Tesseract diminished completely - it was now in another realm.

"I have to rest." Nagato leaned against the wall, feeling its coldness. Now that he looked around more intently, the place was truly atypical. Stones of different forms, which were inhabited by peculiar creatures, spread through the longevity of his vision.

'Perhaps I am in a cave.' Nagato thought, seeing one beast violently trying to nibble on him. He snapped the creature's neck in half, then continued to rest.

"Sir, are you sure you heard someone?" A man dressed in yellowish armor asked, frowning as he stepped over another notch. "I mean, there are hundreds of soldiers outside the building. How could anyone sneak in?"

"Nova Corps has ordered us to guard this place and I will tolerate no one slacking off." The companion, who was apparently of a higher rank, glared around with killing intent. "Remember, Ronan is out there trying to annihilate our race. The least we could do right now is to do our job properly. Who knows... maybe he needs the treasures hidden here."

The other man sighed. This place might have a bunch of natural supplies, but it was definitely nothing of interest to Ronan. Some soldiers here just need to calm- what's that?

"Sir, wait." The man stopped in his tracks, gesturing to stay quiet. Then he pointed south, forcing the other man to place his hands on the gun. A few meters away from them, a red-haired youth slept against the boulder.

His whole attire was ripped apart, yet he appeared unharmed. The most peculiar thing, however, was the number of dead beasts lying beside him. Everything was embraced in their blood.

"Informing all the battalions, we have detected an abnormality." The soldiers reacted instantly, signaling the remaining teams to assemble through an outlandish device.

They then grabbed their weapons, silently walking out from behind the crag. Neither of them made any sound as they approached the sleeping teen. "Sir, do we wake him up?" The man whispered, stopping at a safe range.

The commander thought for a moment, then nodded. He removed the handcuffs from his belt and began to gradually walk towards Nagato. Before waking up this man, securing him was mandatory.

"Can't even rest for a few minutes." Nagato sighed, suddenly opening his eyes. The soldiers almost stepped away at the sight of his bizarre eyes but remained in their positions.

"Don't move or we are going to open fire!" The commander shouted, pointing his weapon straight towards Nagato's forehead. They were at uncomfortably close distance to each other, so the soldier took a few steps backward.

"I am not moving, calm down," Nagato answered and the soldier visibly relaxed at his gentle voice. Their mistake. As soon as he finished his words, Nagato rushed towards the soldiers at once.

The soldier in front didn't manage to ignite his weapon in time before Nagato punched him in the face. Taking the moment of confusion, Nagato grabbed the man's waist and blocked the incoming energy bolts from another officer.

Nagato then threw the commander away and slid towards the remaining enemy. He took out the black rod from underneath his sleeve and sliced his head off entirely. A moment later, a thud echoed in the distance.

"Ah... ahh..." Nagato breathed heavily, supporting himself with the black rod. He barely had enough rest, yet the enemies appeared already. Nagato couldn't even understand where he currently was, for he still couldn't use any of his powers.

"I have to leave." Nagato walked into the obscurity of the cave, leaving soldiers' bodies for the beasts. He had to disappear before all the warriors gathered here. However, he was a hunch too late.

The noise of soldiers bumping with their armor echoed through the hollow and Nagato straightened his back. He saw multiple figures with shiny armor approaching rapidly.

"Damn it." Nagato glanced around, regarding the place for any escape routes. Unsuccessfully so. His fatigued gaze then returned on the hundreds of soldiers who were already standing before him, their weapons pointed forth.

They grimaced at the sight of their fallen brethren but kept their heads cool. If not ordered, they wouldn't kill anyone. "Drop your weapon and surrender." A person with the most elegant equipment took a step forth, subsiding everyone's fury.

'Damn.' Nagato frowned slightly, still not having enough chakra to use any of his powers. He wouldn't be able to deal with hundreds of armed soldiers right now... it was better to surrender for now.

"I understand." Nagato penetrated the pole into the ground, raising his hands upwards. Multiple soldiers immediately rushed at him, slamming him against the ground. Instead of flinching at the pain, Nagato utterly closed his eyes.

They can do whatever they want now, but when Nagato recovers his chakra... they will all die.
