His Wedding

"Remi, take this b__ch out of here," the bride whispered.

"It is you and your family members that are b___ches! Prostitue, Remi, give me my money!" Ada fired back, throwing a flower vase on the carpet.

"What is she talking about?"

"I don't know her, Kira. I've never seen this woman in my life,"

Ada gawked at the huge buildings as she alighted the taxi which pulled up in front of the hotel her flight seatmate had earlier recommended. Filled with joy, she paid the driver after taking out her luggages and wheeling them in with the help of the bellhops at the entrance.

She admired their politeness, it was unlike the usual Nigerian stereotype that white people were usually rude without manners.

Still looking around the place like she just walked into heaven, she successfully checked in and headed to her room whilst repeating the words the receptionist said in a bid to learn the Irish accent but she ended up laughing at herself.

To her, the hotel room looked like the rooms she had seen at Lagos but it was a few inches more advanced.

After taking a shower and dressing up in her pajamas, she picked up her diary and re-read Remi's location, she hugged the book with beams as she laid on the soft bed whilst fantasizing about seeing her fiancé again. They've been apart for five years and all through that period, she was his sole financial spine.

A day didn't go by without her sending a decent amount for his upkeep because to her, he was studying for the benefit of her and their unborn children.

Sadly, Ada could only complete a two year diploma program at a polytechnic back at home so when Remi got the scholarship regardless of the fact that it wasn't fully funded, she gave her all to ensuring that he graduated successfully.

Her parents were late, they had died in a car crash and left a small family business for Ada to run which she did efficiently and sent a huge part of her earnings to her lover in Ireland.

Now, she was here to surprise him with a visit because she had raised enough money to travel and stay around for a month or two. Based on her calculations, he would be graduating in a few weeks so, it would be perfect if she partook in the graduation ceremony.

Ada's thoughts came to a halt when she drifted off to the land of dreams.

The next day, she got dressed into the blue dress Remi had sent three years ago. "It still fits," she said with a smile as she turned around to see the back of the dress on the mirror. Unlike most popular celebrities, Ada didn't meet up to the Nigerian beauty standards, she was slender with a petite waist and inherited her only African feature - her even toned brown skin, a dazzling pair of golden brown eyes and small plump lips with a properly outlined cupid's bow. The engagement ring in her finger still looked brand-new due to proper maintenance.

Luckily, it was summer so she didn't get to experience the dreadful cold weather. After quietly and quickly devouring on her breakfast comprising of cappuccino and bread, she left.

"Your Highness, the queen wouldn't entertain such-"

"Timothy, she isn't here. It's been years since I got wild," William cajoled, finishing up with his tie but Timothy would hear nothing of his childish proposal.

They had visited Ireland for one solid purpose which was coming into an agreement for the benefit of the people at Westminster but Liam seemed to have added extra thoughts in his head.

He had always been with him since his birth and knew every single thing about the young prince, he even went with Liam during his college days in Canada and had to cover up all the messes the youth created.

Just when he had assumed that Liam had repented, he was dishing out crazy suggestions.

"You're engaged -"

"Ugh!" he muttered, rolling his eyes and wearing his well tailored suit.

"I never proposed to anyone, the last time I checked,"

"But she's been betrothed to you since birth, you have to accept-"

"Tim, let's just go. I'm not in the appropriate mood for this topic,"

Ada kept knocking hopelessly on the wooden door at Remi's dormitory but she got no response from anyone on the other side. Suddenly, she regretted paying a surprise visit at least, he wouldn't have gone out at such a crucial time.

"Excuse me please, good morning, ma." she greeted and the lady passing by halted to give her a listening ear.

"Good morning,"

"Umm…I'm looking for someone, he's a student, here,"

"Okay, what's his name?"

"Remi Olukayode,"

The lady paused for a few minutes, searching thoroughly in her head for the list of people she had met, "Oh,I remember him. He was my senior last year, he's not a student here actually,I mean not anymore. He graduated last year,"

"He what?"

"He graduated last year, his friend who currently stays here is presently at his wedding venue,"

"Wait…wait, which wedding venue? Is it Remi's or his friend?"

"Remi. I heard he's getting married to his girlfriend since year one, how do you know him?"

"Christ! I'm finished! I'm finished! Thank you very much eh but where is the venue?" Ada queried, running her hands through her braids.

"St. Peter's church," she replied.
