Chapter-23

After glancing at the dozen or so kids inside the cage, William once again started looking around the room trying to find something that might pique his interest.

'Hmm rusted chains hanging from the ceiling, small holes on the wall and a disgusting scent coming from who knows where.....sigh seems preety normal.....', Unfortunately he was disappointed as there was nothing much out of the ordinary in this cellar.

'....I mean the underground cellars of my soma familia were way more classic and cooler than this....tsk this guy has no style'

*tap*tap*

While William was wondering to himself, small footsteps made their way towards him, but as if he sensed that the person was of no threat, William decided to ignore it.

After standing right behind William, the person stopped and called out in a quivering voice.

"D-don't be s-scared"

Extending her skinny hand, the little girl patted William's shoulder as she tried to say in a soothing voice.

"D-don't worry t-the guards will definitely c-come and save us."

It was hard to say who she was trying to console William or herself with that shaking voice.

"Worry not if we are together then we can definitely get out of here", Her eyes glowed with a tiny light, probing that she was different from the other kids, she has not given up like the others atleast not yet.

"So---"

Suddenly William turned around and stared right at the little girl who was about the same height as him.

Staring seriously at the girl with brown hair and her face covered in dirt, William said.

"You stink."

[New Moon City, Entrance no.2]

"Next one",The same guard A who let William pass before shouted at the next in line to come up.

"Hm you may go in",Taking the fee, the guard A quickly send the couple inside as he signalled for the next in line to come up.

"Hey look over there", Guard B said as he pointed at a the senior officer quickly rushing towards their post.

"Did we messed up or something?", Guard B asked in a slightly anxious voice as he saw that the boss was undoubtedly coming towards them.

"I don't know", Although Guard A said that in a calm voice, on the inside he was also feeling slightly anxious.

Just as both of them were making thein own assumptions, their boss arrived and said in a hurried voice.

"Have any of you seen this kid enter the gate", Without waiting for them, the captain quickly showed them the photo of William which was sketched not long ago.

"This..."

The picture was well drawn and a child as beautiful as William was hard to miss in the first place that is why it didn't even take a second for Guard A to connect the dots.

"What, do you know something?", Showing aside Guard B, the captain grabbed Guard A by his shoulders.

"That.....", With an expression that said he didn't know wheather to laugh or cry, Guard A recited what happened before.

After listening to the guards report, the captain quickly send a message to the higher ups and in no time everyone was informed of the matter.

"Search the entire entertainment district!!!",Xiao Tiannan shouted as soon as he heard the news.

"But patriarch it was already going beyond our power to search the city like that and if we were to so openly turn the entertainment district upside down then the royal family might take action-----"

"Forget about those fools, the royal family will fall sonner or later for now you just need to find the kid using whatever means necessary, kill anyone who interferes", the old man said in a cold voice.

"Yes patriarch", Listening to the old man's strict voice, the guard turned around.

"Wait"

But just as he was about to leave, the old man called out.

"I'll also come with you....."

"Yes.....",Seeing the patriarch personally taking action made the guard re-evaluate the situation to a whole new level.

"Can you get away from me?", William asked as he looked at the little girl who has snuck into the extra large size shirt he was wearing.

"B-but there is room enough for both of us...", Perhaps due to malnutrition or wearing less clothing, the girl's body temperature was dangerously low, that is why when she touched William and noticed how warm his body felt, she didn't even think twice before sneaking into his oversized shirt and leaning on his shoulder.

"Well.... whatever", Seeing the girl shivering in cold, he decided to let it go.

"It's a nice smell....", The girl muttered in a small voice as she openly started sniffing William.

"Okay that's a no, I know you are a kid but there are some things a boy and a girl aren't suppose to do.", Using his right hand, William seperated her from him.

"What do you mean?", The girl asked as she blinked her eyes.

*Sigh*

Seeing the little kid once again lean on his shoulder, he decided to ignore her.

'But she wasn't wrong there...', William thought as he remembered some peculiarities which he has noticed about himself since he was born.

First, As the girl said for some reason there is a nice smell always coming from him, oh and it differs from person to person supposedly everyone experience the smell which they like the most coming from him.

Second, For some reason William has a calming aura about him, for example whenevevr he came near a crying baby, it will stop crying, an angry animal would no longer be aggresive and so on.

Third....

'I don't know if it is true or not but I think I am becoming more and more beautiful as I grow up...', The corners of William's mouth twitched as he thought upto this point.

'Well father should have noticed that I am not at home anymore...hm wonder when they'll come and find me.'

It sounded stupid but William actually had a plan by staying cooped up here, In the small cellar.

When William went out of house, his intention was to return before morning but due to getting los*cough* due to some unforeseen circumstances he missed the timming and if he were to go back now then he will have to come up with a crappy explanation which is a pain.

'It is so much easier to just wait and act like a victim, oh and I asked the system and it told me that no one can see my cultivation level unless I want them to.'

"W-who are you!!!!!"

*Aarhhh*

Suddenly ear piercing cries came out of the room in which the fat man disappeared.

'Are they here?', William thought as he stared at the door with bright eyes.

On the other hand the other kids including the girl clutching onto William grew tense after hearing the blood curling sounds, some of them even started crying.

William frowned a little as he felt the little girl shaking too much in fear, and so he extended his hand and calmly patted her head which made the her feel calmer.

*BAM*

The wooden door broke open as a fat figure covered in blood was send flying through the room, crashing on the wall showing no sign of further movement.

But William's eyes were focused on something else entirely.

*Tap*

A snow white leg stepped through the broken door with graceful movement as a figure in white entered the small room.

Looking at the children shaking in fear inside the cage, Chu Yuechan said with a warm smile on her face.

"It is alright now, no one will hurt you anymore"

Between the gazes filled with relief, confusion and tiredness, what Chu Yuechan didn't know was that there was also a pair of crystal clear eyes looking at her with a new found interest.
