[Origin]

Limitless desert. This is the name given to the place that was once known as United States of America. Actually it's not limited to United States but the whole world. After the great cleansing that occurred five hundred years ago the whole world changed. It goes just like any cliche world apocalypse plot. Different nations started to develop many new technologies. They ranged from convenient home appliances to the nation destroying super-weapons.

Every nation tried to create a weapon that was superior to that of others. No one wanted to lose this race. And you could guess what happened after that.

A great explosion occurred during the research of the ultimate weapon. Radiation from the explosion started to spread everywhere within the air. Soon the whole world was poisoned by the radiation. Trees started to decay, people started to die off and animals mutated. If that was the end of humans it would be quite a good end. But sadly people are far more resistant and could even survive the nuclear explosion.

After the initial explosion ninety percent of the world population died off. Other ten percent sadly survived. They became immune to the radiation and could even use the power of radiation to increase their own power. You may say that it's a good thing to happen. People didn't go extinct, they became stronger and they understood their own mistakes.

Sadly it wasn't like that. All the trees decayed and it was impossible to replicate them. Oxygen became obsolete but it was not a big problem as the radiation took its place. Radiation became a new oxygen for animals and humans. Many types of animals went extinct and those that survived were edible but the quantity was just too low. People could eat them but there was just too little to eat. Those who couldn't come up with solution to the food problem started to eat other humans. Cannibalism became quite popular but it ended soon. That's all because of the supernatural abilities that were developed after the explosion. All the ten percent of the human population received some kind of supernatural power. There were also some geniuses that received two powers and that's basically it. Human body could only contain up to two powers and anything more than that just going to kill the person. When someone ate the other individual they also received their supernatural power. And when you eat one more person you would die from that supernatural power.

The theory is that the supernatural power is actually a concentrated form of radiation. Our body just couldn't use up all that radiation to strengthen our bodies. All the excess radiation would then be concentrated in a particular body part and would create a supernatural power. People theorized that if the person kept strengthening their body using the radiation they could potentially have more than two supernatural powers. But for five hundred years no person have achieved that.

Animals were safe to eat as most of them didn't awaken a supernatural power. Only the one percent of animals received received one. It was also risky to eat the animals but it was far safer than eating a human which had hundred percent death rate. But this doesn't mean weak people were safe now. Some madmen once suggested to feed a person to the animal to see if the animal would receive a supernatural power. It did not receive one so that time the Madman suggested to start feeding people to the pigs or other edible animals. Now cannibalism was replaced by I don't even know what.

The Earth just became a big desert. Oceans were still there but they became the most concentrated place full of radiation. You could drink water from it but if you overdo it, it was the same as eating a human. If you overdo it you could die.

The concept of full stomach was completely forgotten by the people. Everyone became skinny and even the most influential and powerful people who ate everyday were just as hungry as any person.

After so much exposition you may ask who am I? I'm a native to this world. I never experienced the world before the explosion not me nor my father or grandfather. I know all of those stuff from the records that I collected throughout my life. If you think about it I'm just a dreamer and a fool. All my long life I studied the history of this world. When everyone was searching for the food I searched for knowledge of how we became like this.

Why would you learn history you may ask?

That's an easy question to answer. It's because I want to save everyone. This world is doomed and there is no way to save this world and the only way to achieve salvation is just to die. One of my supernatural powers is power to collect information and calculate it. I'm a walking library mixed with a calculator. Everything that I learn is forever imprinted in my memory and I could use those information effectively. When I learned about this supernatural power I knew why I was born. I was born to save everyone and rid them of their pains.

From the time I was twenty I started my adventure I went around the world collecting everything. Learning the history of the world to try and replicate that ultimate weapon that caused the spread of the radiation. My plan was quite simple. It was to replicate the ultimate weapon and make it stronger. Make it so strong that this time no one could survive this explosion. This time nothing or no one will survive this explosion and it would truly be the end of this world.

I spend hundred and ten years of my life for this sole goal. I betrayed many people and sinned too much but finally I achieved my goal. Before me stood that ultimate weapon. No it is far stronger than so called ultimate weapon. This is thousands of times stronger.

You may ask how did I create this ultimate weapon?

And the answer lies in my second supernatural ability which is creation. I could create anything out of thin air if I know it's composition. Actually it's not from air but from the radiation. Radiation changed the fundamental laws of this universe. Almost all the elements that weren't radioactive just became obsolete or were influenced by it. This further shows how scary that ultimate weapon was. Great example is Oxygen, it just disappeared and radioactive element took its place. All the elements whose number is greater than 83 were left untouched as they already were radioactive.

I looked at myself in the old broken mirror. I was now an old guy. I sacrificed all my life to achieve this goal and now I finally could be saved from this world. All my memories just flooded my mind, all the things I experienced and the hardships I overcame. With a content smile I went towards the ultimate weapon and activated it.

Finally I reached my ultimate goal and accomplished my duty that was to save the humans of their pains.
