Chapter 8: the answer to the offer

"WAIT! I have an offer, why don't you work for us for a day! This is absolutely delightful! I promise we'll give you a good amount of mora!" She offered him, surprising him as he never expected to get hired this quickly

"Sure. but if it takes too long, I might reconsider" he agreed upon the offer, he had no reason not to as he liked cooking plus he'll get awarded for it, and they might get more positive reviews because of him, so its a win-win situation

"Not at all sir, i only want you to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for our guests for today! I promise it won't take that long!" She assured him. after all, the worst case scenario is that he might stay there for 3 hours for the whole day counting the amount of guests they've been having

"…alright, ill accept the deal, ill be ready in five minutes." He gave in, no longer seeing a reason to refuse any longer

"Great! Please wear a reasonable uniform.. oh! Also make sure to present yourself well, our head chef is quite judgeful of new employees. Good luck!" She warned him, and continued going down the hallway

'He's judgeful eh? I hope he's not like gordon ramsey…' he felt a shiver down his spine, though being a perfect chef, no chef EVER wants gordon ramsey to appear in their restaurant. If he doesn't like your cooking, then get ready for a barrage of insults. Thats why his pre-transmigration self watched Gordon Ramsey's videos on cooking, in order to double-check what he's doing wrong, and preparing himself if he ever came in a restaurant he was working at

Deciding to disregard that thought, he then went on to finish his breakfast, he didn't get to eat yet because of the maid. And judging by her reaction of his cooking, it has to be really good dish, he has to give himsef a pat on the back for that!

After he finished eating, he then realized he had no uniform to wear

'Crap… i cant wear anything else aside from a uniform or else i might embarrass my self..' he thought to himself, he never felt the need to get a uniform as he didn't expect wearing it this early, so he neglected the opportunity. but now that bit him back in the arse

After quickly coming to a decision, he decided to buy the uniform from the system, he wont spend his rolls on the clothes gacha right now as it's extremely rare chance to obtain it as there are many different clothes existing, and he didn't believe his luck would be great enough to get one

Just as he was about to close the system, he saw that theres new quests on the mission tab. Interested, he decided to open that tab to see what he got

As he closed the door, she then walked away with a proud expression on her face

'Great! I finally did something important for once!' She boasted to her self, appreciating the deed she has done

Believe it or not, despite the baiju guesthouse being a great place to stay at temporarily, it wasn't popular to the people of liyue harbor, which made it uncommon for people to randomly choose living here, as most will prefer living wangshuu in., the best amount of guest they get it is during the rite of descension

And because of that, they couldn't enough money to pay most of their employees properly, causing most to quit. The only ones left are the one who genuinely enjoyed working here

To have someone this talented decide to stay here temporarily, and cooking for them despite only for today, we'll surely get their motel to get a small amount of popularity to start getting mora and paying for employees will be essential to them

But back to the story, she went to the lobby and entered the kitchen area, causing her to get noticed by 2 chefs preparing the kitchen tools for breakfast

The first one was a adult man around the age of 20, he had rectangular-shaped face with brown hair, he was wearing a dark-blue chef apron, and underneath it was a regular white shirt and black pants, and a mildly interested facial expression towards her

This is Xue Zemin, a employee who is 3 years older than her, but the have the same experience in working as he joined a month earlier then her, he was always known as a kind fellow to his co-workers, and accepting the role of a chef when he first started this job

The second one was a man in his late 30s, he had an inverted triangle-shaped face with dark-grey colored hair, with a black long-sleeve shirt, red pants and red apron

this was Dai Shan, the head chef. He was one of the only ones who hadn't left despite not being paid enough, he has over 16 years of experience with cooking, unlike with xue zemin, only looked at her for a couple of seconds before going back to whatever he was doing

After a quick moment of preparing herself, she spoke out:

"Good morning Head chef and Xue zemin! I have an important topic to tell you!" She yelled with a hint of nervousness

"Ah, good morning to you too Xin Yi! Whats the de-" Xue zemin was speaking before being cut-off by the head chef

"No need to yell, whats the 'important' subject you have to talk about?" he said while having a slight expression of interest

Almost every 'important' thing she always says to them is ranting, scolding, and so on. She doesn't scold him much as Xue zemin as he is closer to her age then dai shan, but there some occasional scolding from her that he has to deal with

"Well you see… i suppose i got a valuable person to temporarily work with us" she stated nervously

The whole room went silent after the words left her mouth, you could almost hear an needle drop due to how silent it is

"Im sorry? Could you repeat that again?" Xue Zemin broke the silence in disbelief, not trusting any word she spat out of her mouth

"I dont need to repeat it! i mean what i said!" xin yi assured them, further shocking the others in the room

Dai shan sighed, "thats great to hear, but unfortunately we wont be able to pay him much due to-" he was about to continue before getting cut off by the former

"Dont worry, ill pay him with my balance. besides, his cooking may attract more customers to approach the guesthouse!" she mentioned, but both of the chefs ears perked up as they heard "cooking"

"Cooking? You mean hes also a chef?" Xue Zemin questioned her

"Yep! His cooking talent is extraordinary! I can tell that his dish was one of the best things i ever tasted" she said with praise, she would never forget the taste of the hashbrown from now on

"You hear that dai? We got ourselves a talented one!" The former said with in a positive mood, looking towards the older man that had a small smile plastered on his face

"Looks like we did indeed Xue, its been a long time since we got ourselves a decent one" the latter remarked

Xue Zemin wasn't alone when he first joined, there was two other chefs that also got hired. They were full of talent and were full with a great amount of potential. And 2 years later there was 4 more chefs who were also deemed to have a lot of potential, but they left a few months ago as they weren't getting paid enough. Instead working in a fancy restaurant or wangshuu in.

Hearing one joining was real great news, even if it was temporarily. Meeting a new face for the first time staying here wont hurt

As the kitchen door opened, it revealed a young man around the age of 15, wearing standard chef clothing, this was definitely the new worker xin yi mentioned. This was obviously xie shen, our protagonist of the story

Just as he was about to raise a hand to greet them, he was cut of by the oldest one

"The guy you were talking about was this brat?"
