In the ancient times the chinease emperors were worshipped, as they could map the moon and predict an eclipse. Knowing where one comes from doesn’t nessesarily exclude you from worship. Maybe it’s harder, but not impossible.

Gods are wise while also having some shining accomplishment. I’m a christain. My god made a race of people who have complete free will to do as they please. He crated the world and the whole universe from the dark matter in space to the dirt I step on. You don’t worship the devil despite him being old and powerful and potentially wise even. God is good and the devil is not. In this world you’d be a fool not to worship a god, unless that god wasn’t right or just. Humans are corrupt, none are without sin. Look at Arthur, he had a stable boy condemned for insulting him. That’s not godly, that’s arrogance. No passage of time can get rid of the arrogance of man.

I like it. It shows how flawed the character is. In the end it’s a cruel world with people cunning just like him. People who’ve fought more, and seen greater death. We don’t know how just like Arthur doesn’t know how

Understandable to feel that way as much as it is understandable for him to be numb. Lots of people lie to make themselves feel better but ultimately it’s hard to care about suffering you can’t see. People will go on; unchanging, until whatever it is that is wrong is dangling in their faces.
He wasn't sure if it was because he already had a mother on Earth or because he just never got a chance to know her, but his lack of emotion regarding her murder made him feel dirty.
