I have an idea it's evil but it would go hard. When Seji fights Doma he fails to protect kanea which would entail her dieing in his arms telling him she loves him. Enter blackout stage where the fight scene is skipped from his pov and it's cuts to a frozen wasteland of wherever they fought and the only thing left untouched by the ice is kaneas body and Seji. cut next chapter then we see the fight from a crows or someone else pov. All in all this would entail seji losing trust in himself to protect his loved ones so he would maybe distance himself from mitsuri to "protect" her. I thought of more details but I didn't want to make this comment to long Im a dm I like traumatizing people
