I don't have much to offer to help you improve, but I'm going to write my thoughts anyway. I actually like this story and will stick around to see where it leads me. That aside I'm no critic so take my opinion with a grain of salt. First of all, his ability — Dark souls. It's straight out from dark souls and I love that franchise so I'm really happy to see it. Rebirth after death is pretty interesting but I feel like you could have done more with it rather than just a gimmick MC has. There's so much potential left untouched here. The DS games heavily focused on worldbuilding and how the curse affected it inhabitants. It would be nice to see how it affected the MC. You could've fleshed out this ability, set boundaries and how it affects MC and his mental state, or the consequences of dying so much. Dying so much can't be to a person's sanity, so it would be interesting to see him struggle to hold onto his sanity, or his descent into madness while getting shafted by his cursed skills and the situation it put him in with the hero party. Opinions of some value aside, Here's my rant: Why tf is he getting chummy with his cheating ex? like I get it he's a good guy and all, and wants to reconnect with his old party, but still why are you trying to get him on with the cheater and her minor daughter. He's 42 fgs. And there's this bs about him attending school with their daughter?? Personally I'm a harem fan, but even I would say just go no-harem and marry Alicia. I loved their interaction and hope to see more. The recent chapters with the old party just makes me uncomfortable. Yeah, that's about it. I rarely write reviews but I did it here cuz I found it really interesting. If someone bothered to read through this shit then gimme some recs. See ya.
