This is really mature, it probably is just him manipulating her but the part where he said that they’re individuals is very true. We may do stuff for our loved ones, but ultimately the greatest good can only come if you did it for yourself. You may want to study harder, take care of yourself to look better, or excercises to be healthier for another person, but the motivation to do those things in life should mostly come from you, it’s never good to dedicate your life entirely because of someone else.
