Started out pretty alright. Decent beginning of a relationship between the MC and Leah (bitter shapeshifter girl in the original Twilight movies/books), and I could see it becoming a cute and natural relationship...then the author got indecisive. Out of nowhere Rosalie is suddenly revealed to be the MC's mate. That's fine, I guess, potential for a similarly cute and comforting relationship with a lonely Vamp and then Leah and the MC can have a more sibling-like friendship. Then the author puts up a poll or something to decide who the protagonist ends up being paired with...and Leah wins. So a single Rosalie was added to the story for literally no reason and is relegated to a desperate stalker, pretty much. I'm not reading a story where the author lacks basic foresight on where they want their plot to go. It just doesn't say good things about the fanfics future. Not to mention the MC's main motivations are 1) getting high and 2) eating. He literally has no other hobbies or whatever. So, odd decisions by an indecisive author who seems to keep flipflopping back and forth between Rosalie and Leah (on who gets with the MC) and a boring protagonist...all together it doesn't make for a compelling story. I'd honestly recommend a re-write.
Not every magic system. It's only recently that magic in certain forms of media (mainly anime) gives the user the ability to enhance their body's physical performance and even then its rarely permanent. Like Reinforcement in the Fate series, which is temporary physical enhancement. Traditional magic doesn't give you the option for a stronger body - just look at Harry Potter or DnD. You don't see Wizards or Sorcerers in those universes showcasing superhuman strength unless it's a racial trait and never with magic.
Criminally underrated Chainsaw Man fanfic.Characters are great, you care about them, they interact in natural ways you don't often see on Webnovel, they actually grow as the story progresses--they're just good, well-written characters. Especially the MC. His growth as a character is amazing.Story Progression could do with some work. The relationship between the MC and his love interest is rushed at first, which was hella confusing because it came out of nowhere, but it does become more natural as the story progresses.Writing quality is great. Probably not perfect but I didn't see anything when reading through it and neither did any mistakes break my immersion (so there's no easy to spot mistakes).More than anything, this feels like it could actually take place in Chainsaw Man. It's not a one dimensional power fantasy where the MC drools over Makima or Power or Himeno and just breezes through life. It's difficult to properly explain but it's just dark enough to be taken seriously while still injecting comedy to keep things a little light just like the original Chainsaw Man series.
Ah, yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining it to me 👍
Mommy...sorry...mommy--Ahem, anyway, I'm pretty sure this is who the Author is talking about.
So, he's a typical manlet Japanese MC. That's a shame.
I don't know bro, if you genuinely love someone, is it mandatory to beat them half to death? Abandon them and go have a kid with a bug lady? Nolan definitely makes up for his bad decisions but he still made them. Not exactly something Mark can forget easily.
To normal Humans? Absolutely. But when we're talking about bullet proof aliens with super strength and the ability to punch holes in continents? No. Ki weapons are good--great, actually--but that's because they're *Ki* weapons. Ki Weapons basically ignore durability if you have enough Ki pumped into them. Normal weapons don't have the same luxury.
I won't lie: I cried with joy halfway through the first chapter. Such a great story. I genuinely can't fault the story in anyway whatsoever. It's the perfect representation of the deep and complex nature of Orks. I just...I can't. I'm crying and smiling while writing this review. I was once a fervent supporter of the Imperium and the glory of the Emperor but this novel showed me the light. The unending and brilliant light of the WAAAAAGHHHHHHH!
Only a few chapters out right now but so far it's been great. Good grammar, especially when compared to 99% of the other stories you see around here, and the character seems interesting so far. Not too sure how much I like that he doesn't have any of Hagrid's memories or even a little of his personality but that's a personal preference so I won't comment on that too much. I don't think I've seen many Hagrid-HP fanfics. Maybe one other one? But not nearly enough. Half-Giants are basically the perfect race in HP. Physically superhuman, resistant to magic AND capable of magic too. Either way this story's got a fun and original idea, and I hope the author keeps writing and continuing the story! Black Alice who'd absorbed the magic of Wonder Woman and mimicked her power. Black Canary gave her a nose bleed from physical attacks, if I remember correctly. For reference, Black Alice is a magical leech and can absorb a limitless amount of magic from superpowered beings with it and this allows her similar powers to whoever she took the magic from.
New light novel with a classic and overly long title: "I Thought My Teacher Was A Good Guy But He's Actually The Demon King!"
