Prologue

Life sucks.

That is the realization that Joseph Evergreen had when he found out he was now a wanted man.

He was sitting there in his lab, waiting for one of his experiments to finish absorbing mana when, all of the sudden, his name scraping device caught wind of his name being posted on the adventurer's listings for bounties. It was not pretty to say the least. Now, a normal man would be freaking out currently, possibly sweating from every pore in his body and panting from having his breath knocked out from the sheer shock of the realization.

But Joseph? He was just annoyed; annoyed and disappointed. After all, any normal man wouldn't have his name posted for a bounty of a whole superior grade technique, especially in these backwater regions.

'𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯' he reluctantly conceded to the need to live peacefully for his work to progress. At least he used an alias, the only people that knew his real name were either dead or thought he himself was.

This is Joseph Evergreen, one of the most wanted men to ever step foot in the continent.

But seriously, have you not heard about what he has done? Oh, I guess this is a bit sudden for you to be sent into his story from the midpoint. At least if you consider this the midpoint, considering he hasn't even lived a century yet…
