First of all, Yuna Nate isn't my Master. She was thirteen years old when I met her if I remember correctly. During Golden Week, shortly after my Master requested me and brought me to AAA, the Anonymous Assassin Association. At the time, the missy was still in training period but already on pilgrimage in some murder orders by the organization, doing an excellent job. Frighteningly well, actually. And barking this, as I joined the Elite by recommendation, right after putting my four paws in the Association, I simply cannot deny the current Youkai Slayer aroused my canine curiosity.

She was cold as a Nordic blizzard and simultaneously lovely as spring mornings.

Like if her charisma and beauty coated her voracity and strength and her strength and voracity coated her charisma and beauty.

She was a perfect example of yin yang.

Or perhaps a beautiful illustration of a tsundere.

Anyway, my first contact with Yuna, additionally to the visual, happened only two years later also during Golden Week. My master told me to do rounds in a warehouse in Kanagawa and to bring the missy along as an emergency resource. I tried to negotiate it. I didn't believe it required a brat below the Elite to accompany me in a simple survey, especially as an emergency resource. Unacceptable for a pack leader like me.

And then my master pronounced;

"This isn't a request, Ulim, it's part of your mission. Besides, the boss determined this and I see no issue. In fact, your beloved kouhai has something worthier than your keen primitive instinct."

"Tsc, those ice powers…"

"No, Ulim. The ice powers may be humongous, but they're just a role of that machine. What makes Yuna so special is her cleverness. She's a natural strategist."

"I can also come up with a good strategy, master."

"I know you can." He smiled. "But, Yuna doesn't just establish a project. She flows like water and predicts the opponent's preparation. Evidently, her scheme is not to let anyone plan anything. Except that it sounds a bit confusing, don't you think?"

At the end of the day the missy came along with me.

And the mission that was a mere patrol, converged into an assault operation.

Thanks to my speed of sound and my super sense of smell, locating and reaching the warehouse was simple. Up close, I was aware something was wrong inside just with a quick sniff. When telling Yuna regarding the strong presence of magic in the place, she made a goofy comment relative to the situation and then remained quiet. While I was drafting on how to barge into that place, her reasoning was way ahead. It's as if she anticipated my invasion logistics and computed what would happen next.

"Go ahead," She uttered.

Giving me total offensive freedom, I broke into the warehouse and in the next moment my body was wrapped up in an ice armor. It distracted me, ruining my surprise factor advantage, then both magicians hidden in the darkness revealed themselves, aiming their weapons at me and firing, pitiless. However, it happened to be part of Yuna's play. She figured, probably from what she mentioned about the amount of magic, the wizards wouldn't try to face us, but hide themselves mystically to catch us by surprise.

So, when she let me lead, used me as the guinea pig for her experiment. She covered my body with ice not only to protect me from projectiles, but also to surprise me and delay my reaction, making the magicians wonder if it'd be the right time to finish me off. Consequently, they fell into the cunning trap of what would become the Youkai slayer.

As they revealed their status and focused on me as the main target, a pair of ice sticks went through both magicians' skulls.

"What a bummer. They were only two douchebags." Yuna spoke, crouched in perfect balance in the round window above the warehouse doors. "At least you have the appearance of a puppy in that armor, Fleas Kingdom."

Although she said it gently, I didn't really feel comfortable with that cute nickname.

Yeah... anyway…

It's not regarding such a small mission I came to howl about.

The situation I'm gonna describe is something much bigger and really menacing; A mission that wasn't hers. An occasion she shouldn't have interfered, causing her to attract her karma in the shape of a weapon. An insanely powerful weapon, but karma nonetheless.

At first, the goal was simply to find a missing colleague kidnapped by his own father. Anyhow, what was a search evolved to a deeper investigation then a conflict and finally...

A dragon youkai.
