Graduation Match - 27

(Gojo's POV)

There wasn't much going on, nothing noteworthy at all. Just working hard day and night in my own room with Dark Magician Girl.

But for the past seven days and nights, I was nowhere to be found outside. Hell, I wasn't even picking up my phone.

Well, until recently, after I had to spend a day or two, maybe even five, catching up on some serious sleep. After all, I am still human, and as a human, I still need rest. Even Gojo Satoru sleeps.

~

I woke up to the sound of the bed creaking heavily and the warmth of sunlight bathing me.

"Goooooood morning~" Dark Magician Girl chirped, glowing with satisfaction, plopping right beside me, her arms wrapped around my shoulders.

"Morning… Your libido is fucking high." I squinted my eyes as I nudged her off me and dragged myself out of bed, still struggling to get up.

How many hours of sleep did I get this time? 2.. 3?

"Hey!" Dark Magician Girl defended herself, feeling a bit called out.

I smirked, "It's not like I'm complaining, you know."

"…Hold on a minute! Originally, I wasn't that interested in sex; you're the one who turned me like this!" She exclaimed, realizing and placing the blame on me.

"Yeah, yeah, love you too." I replied, immediately dropping the topic as I put on the blindfold.

"Love me too? That's it?" She pouted playfully.

I chuckled, "Well, it's a good start for the morning."

Dark Magician Girl leaned in closer, her eyes drawn towards my thing, "So, any plans for today, or do you want to hide that morning wood inside me again?"

"Well, I actually need to check my phone." I said, realizing the need to attend to whatever messages might be waiting.

How long has it been since I last checked my phone?

Reaching out to grab my phone and sitting down on the bed, browsing on the mini device with Dark Magician Girl lying beside me, pouting.

Upon reading the news and finding out Chumley left the Duel Academy to work at Industrial Illusion with Pegasus to make Duel Monster cards, now that was a fucking surprised.

'That's... an amazing career in this type of world. On top of that, it's way better than being a duelist, in my opinion. I mean, there are so many damn fodders in this school. I know for a fact the majority of them ain't going pro.' I sincerely thought.

What else did I miss?

Scrolling up to find what I have missed on the group chat. Nothing important, nothing important. Exam study group; Don't care. Missed a duel between Chumley and Crowler; Don't care. A request from Alexis for one-on-one study; Damn, not important. A challenge from Atticus with his new Red-Eyes; ooh scary~; Don't care.

Missed a private meeting with the chancellor and faculty meeting; Why is this even here?

"Not a lot of important things besides Chumley leaving the academy." I voiced out as I was quickly scrolling as I read everything.

"Really?" Dark Magician Girl propped her chin on my shoulder to read the message on the phone.

"Yeah, nothing important," I replied.

"Isn't today the promotion exam?" She asked.

"How'd you even remember that? I don't have to take it though." I laughed.

As I started to check my DMs, I noticed a week-old DM from Zane that asked if I'd be down to be his opponent for a 'grand graduation match.' Oh, forget about the promotion exam. I missed his challenge! Seeing how I didn't reply, he left a message saying he challenged Jaden, and today is the graduation match!

Yeesh. I would have taken it up on that.

"Oh well." I shrugged.

"Huh. No fucking way! Kagemaru is still alive after all that?" I whistled as I read the news from the Chancellor.

"REALLY?!" Dark Magician Girl's mouth dropped open a little upon hearing that unbelievable news. Those attacks were from a really pissed off Egyptian god.

"Oh, there we go. Third-degree burns all over his body. Life expectancy is 1 year. Current condition: nightmares every night, and seizures. Damn, it could have been worse, but this is a 'children's trading card game world." I muttered.

"You keep saying 'children's trading card games,' but what is that?" Dark Magician Girl tilted her head as she asked me that question.

"Don't worry about it." I kept my mouth shut and scrolled for more information, eventually tabbing out to check daily news articles.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty much out of the loop on where the world is heading now. My knowledge only goes up to the first season of GX, and even then, I only have a small portion of knowledge.

"Huh… I thought the dark side of the dimension hadn't happened yet. Fuck!" I muttered as I stumbled upon a recap of old news, comparing the potential world-ending event five years ago to the one we had two weeks ago.

Aww, and also there goes my chances of time traveling. I was really interested in that arc, but to think it already happened five—six years ago.

Looking and scouring the news carefully I found that only the Millennium Puzzle disappeared, but the remaining Millennium Items are still present in this world. Kaiba is still holding his company to continue excavating the remains. On top of that Kaiba holds the concept of an 8th Millennium Item, the Quantum Cube, used by Aigami for dimensional-travel purposes.

'Does Kaiba want to have another rematch? Is that why he is continuing the excavation? Did he lose to the Pharaoh when he traveled to the afterlife?' I have so many questions now.

I closed my phone, flopped onto the bed, and closed my eyes, only to have them open again after feeling Dark Magician Girl straddling on top of me, wearing a smug smile. (not that it matters since I'm blindfolded)

In her mind, after seeing Gojo closing his phone and flopping into the bed she thought, 'This means we can continue!' while licking her lips.

Fuck—

Today is the graduation match.

The Graduation Match serves as a grand finale to the academic year, allowing the top duelists to compete against another in an honored duel. It is a symbol of their achievements and growth during their time at the academy. Of course this doesn't mean jack shit to our main character.

As Zane is the #1 duelist in Duel Academy, with 1000 points, holding the highest score in the school, he is honored to be the headliner of Duel Academy and given the rights to challenge anyone on Duel Academy Island in the 'prestigious Graduation Match'.

And Zane had chosen Jaden as his opponent for his graduation match.

"Come on, where is he? He said he was coming." Alexis impatiently looked at the entrance from the back.

"Ohhhh Alexis, who are you waiting for impatiently? Is it your crush, Gojo?" Atticus teased, only to be promptly smacked in the face by her right after.

"But seriously though! Zane and Jaden dueling it out in the last throw down of the year. Man, who could have asked for a better match?" Atticus spoke out, rubbing his cheek.

"More like a mismatch." Bastion retorted as he took out his notebook.

"According to my figures and statistics, Zane is really the favorite to win." He added.

"Wow, I would have never figured that out." Alexis sarcastically remarked.

Eventually, a figure slowly approached behind them and sat next to Alexis.

"Sorry, I'm late," I tiredly said, leaning back and slumping on my seat.

"OHHH, just in time Satoru." Atticus exclaimed happily as he moved, sitting behind him now.

As Jaden and Zane can be seen walking out together side by side, reaching their respective spots on the dueling podium.

"Don't call me that." I shivered hearing that name.

"Brother-in-law." Atticus mischievously said.

"Oi." Alexis blushed as she growled, visibly shaking.
