Chapter 18

Augustus frowned and tried to push her hand away, but he failed after several attempts. When he saw that she was talking nonsense from the fever, his heart softened. He then sat by the bed and accompanied her, letting her leaned on his arm.

After sitting for more than half an hour, Lisa again started to tremble. He saw this didn't work. So he patted Lisa's cheek, whispering, "Lisa, you're having a high fever. I'll take you to the hospital. Get up quickly."

However, Lisa turned a deaf ear to it. Instead, she suddenly hugged Augustus and kept shouting. "Don't.. Don't go... Don't leave me.."

Augustus got frustrated and finally held her in his arms tightly and comforted her. "I'm here, I won't leave you ever. I promise. Lisa."

The room was quiet, Augustus who was holding Lisa tightly in his arms, lowered his head and looked at this woman who suddenly appeared like a child in front of him.

At this moment, her eyebrows were tightly knitted, and her entire body was still trembling. Gone was a woman, who was cold and stubborn.

After a while, Augustus slowly stretched out his arms and then hugged her back. He whispered in low voice, "Lisa be my side, forever." He then kissed her forehead.

He didn't know if she could hear him or not. But he felt as her arms closed a bit more and his embraced tightened a little.

He stretched out his hand and covered himself and her with a thick blanket. She needed to sweat at the moment, and only sweat could relieved her from her fever.

He put her face against his neck, and could feel the burning heat on his neck. At this moment, he didn't know whether it was right or wrong for him to do so, but he had to do it.

He hugged her tightly, put his head on her shoulder, and then closed his eyes without thinking about anything.

At four "o" clock in the afternoon. Lisa finally sweated all over her body, and then her fever subsided.

Augustus's clothes were almost soaked. When her fever subsided, he quickly lifted the quilt and got out of the bed.

At this time, Lisa didn't stop him from leaving, she was sleeping soundly. He got out of the room and went down in the kitchen to drink water.

Ms. Davis saw him coming and said, "Master, last night Madam Carlos called many times asking for you."

Augustus nodded, "hmm"

"Lunch is ready. Should I serve you?" Ms. Davis asked politely.

"No..! Prepare the dinner and then leave." Augustus said coldly and walked away.

"But master, you haven't eaten anything since morning. Should I make fruit salad for you.?" Ms. Davis still tried to persuade him to eat.

"No, need Ms. Davis." He refused politely.

He took big gulps of cold water and then said, "I'm going to take shower." He then left.

Augustus again took cold shower and dressed in neatly pajamas. Since Lisa came here, this is his second cold shower. No matter how much he tried she always succeeded in seducing him even when she is unconscious. "Damn it." Augustus cursed annoyingly and went straight to his study.

Lisa felt dry in her throat and stretched her hand for water but couldn't find it. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was in the same room as last time. She looked around and saw that it was already dark outside.

She frowned and got up from the bed. She didn't feel dizzy at all this time. She went down, it was dark and quiet. She saw a light coming from the kitchen, she walked in that direction to get some water.

Just when she took her first step a voice came from behind her, scaring her, "You're awake."

She put a hand on her chest and turned around. Her throat was so dry, she couldn't shout at all. Augustus saw her scared face and turned to switch on the lights.

Under the bright light, Augustus looked her up and down. Her face was pale and her hairs were a mess. She looked terrible in his sweaty pajamas.

"How you're feeling now.?" Augustus asked.

Lisa licked her dry lips and said in a whisper "Water"

Augustus went straight to kitchen and brought her a glass of water. She gulped it down in one attempt. She was really thirsty, indeed.

Augustus took the glass asking, "Want more.?"

Lisa shook her head, then Augustus handed her a bag of clothes. "Go change and come for dinner."

Lisa took the bag and went upstairs to change. Augustus looked at her back with desire in his heart.

Lisa walked in the bathroom and opened the bag. There was a sleeveless floral dress and a cropped black leggings with a bra and underpants.

She looked at the clothes shockingly. It was all bought from an expensive store. When she was married to Tom, she used to buy those brands only on sale. On sale also, it was pretty expensive.

She took a shower and felt extremely fresh. After dressing up, she looked in the mirror, the clothes fitted her body perfectly. She then dried her hair and went down. Augustus was on the kitchen warming the dishes. He looked so ordinary yet handsome doing those house chores.

Augustus saw Lisa coming from the corner of his eyes. "Everything's fine.? You took so long.." he asked with concern.

Lisa hesitated and then pointed at her hairs. "My hair... it takes time to get dry."

Augustus looked at her hair. Her hairs are straight, Gemini brown in colour, looking soft and silky. It's waist length long. He then looked at her, he can see her beautiful bare hands, in her sleeveless dress and her clean and beautiful legs in cropped leggings with bare foot. She looked very young and innocent.

He had always seen her in professional suits. He has never seen her in casual clothes. It was both promising and enchanting for his eyes.

Lisa felt nervous from his stare and asked holding her dress, "Is there something wrong.?"

Augustus cleared his throat and said, "You.. you look nice.."

She blushed and said, "Thank you, need help.?" She tried to change the topic.

Augustus nodded and said, "Can you put those dishes on the table.?"

"Sure." Lisa said with a smile and put those dishes on the table.

Soon, the table was filled with dishes, chicken soup, steak, rice, fried vegetables and homemade bread buns. By looking at dishes. Lisa's stomach growled in hunger. After all, she ate last night with her brother to celebrate her birthday, which now totally turned into a nightmare.

She shook her head to forget all the bad things that had happened in last few hours.

"Why you're still standing? Come on let's eat." Augustus said walking past by her and pulled a chair for her to sit. She sat on the chair and then Augustus, and they started eating.

Lisa was so hungry, she ate with full of mouth just like a child. The food was delicious and she adored it.

While eating, Augustus handed her a napkin. She looked at him puzzled, her mouth full of bread. He indicated towards her lap. She looked down and there were bread crumbs all over her dress. She felt embarrassed, she put napkin on her lap and lowered her head to continue eating.

Augustus twitched his lips into a smile. Seeing her eating like this, he let out a sigh of relief. He was so worried because of her hot temperature, he didn't even eat anything since morning. Now it has subsided, now he can be at peace. Thank God..

Lisa looked at Augustus from corner of her eyes, he was eating so quietly and elegantly, without making any sound. He looked so much handsome, just like a noble prince. She couldn't take her eyes off, then she saw a red mark on his neck and frowned.

She heard last night, he was with Giovanna. Did he really left her because of her? But why would he do that? She was so confused, and couldn't help but asking, "You're neck.? She pointed at his neck.

Augustus looked down and chuckled, "Last night, a woman tried to rape me."

Lisa choked hearing his words.

Augustus handed her a glass of water and patted her at the back. Lisa didn't feel comfortable by his touch but he didn't notice at all.

After swallowing the food, Lisa opened her mouth to say something but Augustus interrupted her by saying in a commanding tone, "Eat, Manners" he then glared at her with cold eyes.

Lisa felt annoyed and said in a taunting tone, "If I remember correctly, you were not following manner at the lunch w...."

Before she could finish, Augustus put his finger on her lips. Her lips trembled from his cold finger. She stares at him shockingly. Augustus removed his finger and continued eating. Lisa also did the same.

After eating, Lisa cleaned the table and put the dishes in dishwasher. Augustus tried to stop her, but she didn't listen. After all, she is at his home she should do something for him too.

Lisa went to living room, Augustus was already sitting on a sofa watching tv. When he heard the footsteps, he lowered the volume of tv and gestured Lisa to sit beside him.
