Tried To Kill Father

"They tried to kill my father?" Maya burst into tears upon hearing her mother's trusted aide reveal what had happened back then.

"Yes, that's what I saw. They tried to kill him with an injection that I'm sure contained poison."

"Did you try to stop them?"

Ikbal nodded slowly, biting his lip. He knew his words would deeply hurt Mr. Winata's beautiful daughter.

"You don't need to be afraid. This is the truth. I know I can't make them pay immediately, but this makes me despise them even more."

"Yes, you must be careful with them. They are ruthless!"

Maya widened her smile and chuckled softly.

"You must be strong, May," whispered Yuki, still faithfully standing by her friend. "Don't dwell on it too much. You must also take care of your health!"

As they chatted in the small eatery, Mike suddenly walked quickly towards Maya, who was still leaning against the wall.

"Are you satisfied?!" Mike snapped, making Maya reluctantly sit up, even though she was already exhausted from the terrible news she had just learned.

"What do you want?!" Yuki immediately stepped in between Mike and Maya, who wasn't ready to be attacked.

"Miya fainted in the bathroom. Her body is still very weak and she shouldn't be stressed out!"

Seeing the strange look on Mike's face, Maya couldn't stop watching him. It felt like a year of dating this athletic man had led up to this moment, the first time she'd seen Mike so angry at her, even though she hadn't done anything to her twin sister.

"Why are you just standing there? You know you scared her this morning!" Mike shouted, his voice trembling with anger.

"Me? I scared her!" Maya shouted back, suddenly finding courage from somewhere. "I just greeted my twin, you're the one who scared her. Stop twisting the facts!"

"Stop denying it! You manipulative mind-twister!"

"What do you mean by manipulative? I didn't do anything. I haven't even spoken to her!"

"You're always defiant!" Mike shouted, raising his hand to slap Maya, who raised her chin defiantly, eyes wide, challenging Mike's roughness.

"Hey! Enough! Don't you dare touch her!" Ray shouted, walking quickly toward Mike and grabbing his hand to ensure he wouldn't touch Maya.

"Who are you?" Mike shouted back.

"Who are you? How dare you try to hurt her. You're a man, you should protect her or at least talk to her calmly before letting your anger get the best of you!"

"Ugh! You! Let go of my hand! You must be in cahoots with her!" Mike shouted, forcefully pulling his hand away from Ray's grip.

"Ray, let him be! I want to see what he will do to me. Hit me, Mike, go ahead. I want you to vent your anger on me so I have a reason to hate you even more!"

"You're challenging me!" Mike shouted, puffing out his chest until his face was just inches away from Maya's.

"Do it!"

"But, Miss!"

"Let him, Ray. Let him do whatever he wants."

Hearing Maya's gentle words, Mike softened. The love he once felt for this girl resurfaced, and he couldn't bear to look into Maya's beautiful dark brown eyes anymore.

Hah!

Mike screamed and turned away, unable to stay near Maya any longer, choosing to leave the eatery so no one would see the tears streaming down his pale cheeks.

"What's wrong with him?" Ray asked, a half-smile making his face look mischievous.

"I think he still has feelings for Miss Maya. That must be it; he still has feelings for you!" Ikbal repeated.

"Why do you say that, Ikbal? Maybe he's just like that because he knows he's lost to us," Ray whispered, still watching Mike run off like a madman.

"He still has feelings for Miss Maya. Otherwise, he would have beaten her up for supposedly messing things up. Messing up what?!" Ikbal shrugged dramatically, and Ray, amused by Mike's actions, chuckled.

"Are you sure he still has feelings for me?" Maya asked, blushing.

"He definitely still has feelings, Miss. I know it!"

"You sound so certain!" Yuki said, nudging Ikbal with her elbow.

"Yes, he still has feelings. I'm sure of it. Otherwise, he would have killed Miss Maya when you both went to Batu!"

"What!" Maya's eyes widened again at Ikbal's casual statement.

"Oh, you mean when we went to Batu, to Mr. Winata's secret house?" Ray recalled the events of a few days ago.

"Right! At that time, I knew Mike was following you. He was planning to ram the car you were driving, but instead, he braked so his bumper wouldn't touch your car!"

"I remember, there was a car following us, but when we got to the villa, Mike was already there!"

"Exactly, which means we can still use Mike to help you fight Inaya, Miss!" Ray said enthusiastically.

"Huh! You want me to what? Use Mike as a tool to fight Inaya?!"

Ray chuckled, patting Maya's tense shoulder. "Don't worry about the details. We just need to get closer to him."

Maya took a deep breath. She didn't expect Ray to be skilled at driving and handling situations.

"What's wrong?" Yuki asked, seeing the hesitation on her friend's face.

"Actually, I wouldn't mind if we end up facing Inaya with Mike. But I'm afraid if…"

"If what?" Yuki, Ikbal, and Ray asked simultaneously.

"I'm afraid I might fall for Mike again. It will be very hard for me because when I'm in love, I become stupid!"

"Oh my!" Yuki slapped her forehead.

"True! You do tend to lose yourself when you're with a guy you like. You become stupid, hard to talk to, and worst of all, easy to take advantage of!" Ray laughed.

"Ugh, why are you mocking me like this? You're so insolent. You're just a driver! Watch your mouth!" Maya's cheeks turned red as she covered her face with her hands.

Seeing Maya angry again, Ray didn't stop. He continued to laugh, making Maya even more embarrassed.

"Ray, stop it!" Maya shouted, gently hitting her driver, making Ikbal and Yuki even more delighted to tease her.

"Alright, enough!" Maya pleaded, and this time, Ray complied.

"Yes, we shouldn't laugh at her for too long. Now, let's think about how to approach Mike to fight Inaya!"

"Mmm!" Maya sighed deeply, closing her eyes. "I don't know, give me an idea!"

"How about this," Ikbal whispered, having come up with a brilliant idea for his mistress.
