"That's my specialty. How's the future between you and Bara's marriage?"
"Live it like flowing water. Just surrender to where the water will bring Dila and Bara's marriage."
"If Fatih comes back what would you do?"
Dila was stunned to hear Naura's question. A very difficult question to answer and Dila had no answer to Naura's question.
"Hmmm." Dila seemed to think.
For some reason, it was very difficult for her to answer Naura's question on this matter. Her heart still hurt and sore when she remembered Fatih.
"I don't know. How is he now? We haven't communicated in eight years. Does he miss me as much as I miss him?" asked Dila with tears in her eyes.
Dila hugged Naura. The girl rested her head on Naura's shoulder. Right now only crying that can make her relieved.
"Don't cry anymore. You are the smartest at acting. In front of people, you look strong but inside you are fragile. Know that you're a strong and resilient woman," said Naura while stroking Dila's back.
"I don't know. Why do I just cry? Doesn't Fatih miss me?" Dila repeated her question.
"I don't know. I am not a psychic who can predict," said Naura, chuckling.
"If only mama Lauren pass on her knowledge to me before she passed away, maybe I can read your future, bro."
"That could be," said Dila, chuckling.
"At least I can make you smile."
"Thank you."
"Thanks for what?"
"For everything. For being friend, best friend, and sister to me."
"That's the importance of family. Whatever the problem, we must tell each other. Let the burden in your heart go away."
Dila's smartphone rang loudly. The beautiful girl immediately picked up a video call from her friend Mira who lived in Perth, Australia. Mira had lived in Perth since she married her husband.
Mira's husband was an Australian citizen. After getting married, Mira and her husband moved to Perth, leaving her family and friends behind.
"Dila. Congratulations on your marriage. I'm sorry as a friend I'm unable to return to Padang," Mira said excitedly with her two children.
"Say hay to Aunty Dila," said Mira, while glancing at her two children.
A pair of blonde-haired children waved at Dila. Mira's two children were very similar to Mark, Mira's husband. There was not the slightest resemblance to Mira.
"Happy wedding aunty. I wish you happiness," said Aidan the eldest.
"Happy wedding aunty Dila. I miss you. When will you come here?" asked Alana with a sad face.
"Baby thank you. I miss you too Alana and Aidan," Dila replied excitedly.
Dila loved Mira's two children. Every year Mira will return to Padang for a month to let go of her homesickness. Aidan and Alana were always brought. No wonder the two kids were close to Dila.
"Hi, Naura. How are you?" said Mira kindly, she glanced at Naura who was standing beside Dila.
"Good, Mir. How about you?" Said Naura, no less friendly.
"As you can see," Mira said while glancing at her body.
"A mom of these two is very beautiful," said Naura.
"Ah, thanks." Mira blushed.
"Dila.Sorry gue ndak tibo pas acara baralek lu doh.Kado gue agiah pas pulang ka Padang se dih," Mira said in Minang language. (Dila. I'm sorry I didn't come to your wedding. I'll give you a gift when I return to Padang).
"Aman Mir. Kalo lambek kadonyo berarti gadang isinyo ndak?" asked Dila teasing Mira.
(Okay Mir. If the gift is late, it means the contents are big).
"Kalamak kau se kalau ngecek.Ongkos pulang ka Padang kecek kau murah? Kau tarimo selah apo kado den," Mira said a little irritatedly.
(It's good to say. Do you think the cost of returning to Padang is cheap? You can accept whatever my gift is).
"Kau kayo mah.Tu kado den harus maha lah." (You are rich. My gift must be expensive).
"Whatever," Mira grumbled irritably. "I'll hang up. Congratulations to the newlyweds. You owe me a story of why you got married so suddenly. In three months I will go to Padang with your two nephews."
"Alright, boss," said Dila while disconnecting the video call.
"If you guys chat there must be a small argument," said Naura with a chuckle.
"We've always been like that. Often fight but love each other."
💋💋💋
M Country,
A young man yawned at the pile of books he had just translated. The 33-year-old young man was exhausted from all-night translating Arabic books into Indonesian.
The man was handsome, tan-skinned, and charismatic. His charm melted the women who saw him.
For years, this handsome man had been a translator of both Arabic and English books. As a man, he can be said to be perfect, handsome, respectful, polite, and his intelligence was above average.
He made quite a bit of income as a book translator. Apart from that he also owned an Indonesian cuisine restaurant.
If Indonesian citizens missed Indonesian cuisine, they can visit the restaurant.
The Indonesian menu at Fatih's restaurant was quite complete. Padang, Sundanese and Makassar cuisines. The restaurant was never empty. Not only Indonesian students who ate there, there were also local residents.
"Fatih wake up." The man's roommate woke him up.
"Pray at dawn first. Later you will miss it."
The man was still asleep. Last night he had only slept at three in the morning. He had only slept for two hours before dawn. After the dawn prayer the man did not sleep but he would get ready to go to teach. Even though he took S3, the pious man also became a lecturer at a private campus in City K.
"Fatih wake up you," said his friend, whispering.
There was no answer. The man was still asleep. His friend had an idea to tease Fatih.
"Fatih wake up. Dila is here," he screamed, waking Fatih from his sleep.
"Where's Dila?" Fatih asked while glancing left and right.
Fatih rubbed his eyes. Black eye bags were a sign of lack of sleep. Fatih did a double profession as a student and lecturer.
"If someone says Dila's name and you get up immediately."
"Zaki, you are working on me again," squeaked Fatih, a little annoyed. He repeatedly teased him.
"It's your own fault. I tried to wake you up properly, you won't budge. In turn, when I was mentioning Dila's name, you immediately get up. You're fool for love, that's what it is," Zaki joked, teasing Fatih.
"What? I'm not like that, Zaki."
"If it's not like that, prove it! You can wake up without any frills saying Dila's name. You should marry her so you won't dream of her every night. Which girl can wait for you. Not dating or fiancee but told the girls to wait for you to come back from here. If you proposed to her the status of you will be engaged, "said Zaki frankly.
"Quickly take ablution, it's going to dawn. Don't you want to pray together in the mosque? The congregation is waiting for you to become a priest and give a study."
Fatih immediately slid into the bathroom without listening to Zaki's chatter.
An hour later.....
Zaki and Fatih returned to their flat. During his stay in City K, Fatih chose to live in a flat because the rent was cheaper and the money sent to his parents in the country could be higher in nominal.
In the flat Fatih lived with four friends and all of them came from Indonesia. Fatih was from Padang, Zaki was from Brebes, Davin was from Medan and Reno was from Makassar.
They both studied at AZ University through a scholarship program in collaboration between Indonesian government with M. government
Fatih and Zaki were both pursuing doctoral degrees and they have a part-time job as lecturers.
Davin and Reno took their master's degree and were the juniors of Fatih and Zaki.
"Earlier a lot of women paid attention to you. Are you not interested in one of them?" asked Zaki to open the conversation while making breakfast toast for the two of them.
"I don't think so. I've never paid attention to women Ki. I keep my eyes. Zina is when we're looking at the opposite sex," said Fatih teasing Zaki.
"What are you. Then how about Dila?"
"It's a different story. Dila and I have known each other since we were little because my parents worked at Dila's house. We also went to school and spent our childhood together."
"Don't look for excuses. You hanged someone's child for eight years. Are you sure Dila will wait for you? Dila is a beautiful and well-established woman."
"That's why I'm here. I will relieve myself so that I deserve to be with Dila. She can be proud of me. I don't want Dila and her family to be insulted because of my poor past. That's why my goal here is not only for Dila. But also for my two younger siblings. Dila is a bonus for me. "
"Well, you're a fool for love but you don't admit it. I can see that Dila doesn't wear a hijab and works at a bank. A pious man like you should get a partner with a Kyai's child or a pious woman who covers her aurat. I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm just reminding you."
"Insya Allah, I will guide Dila slowly to cover her aurat when we are married. About working at the bank, I will ask Dila to stop and open a business. Pray for my good intentions to be plagued by Allah."
Zaki patted Fatih's shoulder many times. Fatih was a man who was very loyal and can keep his eyes of other women.
"Let's have breakfast first." Zaki invited Fatih to breakfast. He is sad to see Fatih who always misses Dila
Fatih immediately devoured the toast made by Zaki.
"When will Davin and Reno be back?"
"Maybe tomorrow morning."
