ODETTE immediately dismounted from the man's motorcycle when she saw that they had led to a quiet part of the park.
Ethan watched her for a long time. He knew that she made a point to put a gap between them.
"Do you consider me your nemesis now?" He asked quietly.
"What kind of question is that? I barely know you," she retorted.
"You tell me since your reaction is an insulting one. That was extremely rude," he informed her. "I expect a more gracious welcome after saving you from your pursuer."
She shrugged, "I didn't ask for your help," she replied with a blank facade, returning his perusal.
"Touche," he grinned. "You're as ungrateful as my sister when I used to save her. You got the same impudent reaction."
"Your sister?"
"Surely you communicate with Angeline, now a Medici's wife?"
"Oh!" Then her cheeks burned under his penetrating gaze.
