Chapter 18: A Normal Day Routine

"So, how is your observation of him?" The red haired Satan asks his wife, also his queen, in his peerage.

"He is indeed telling the truth. He possesses no magic and only uses mortal weapons and trinkets to defeat his enemies. However, he manages to bring three fallen angels into submission and now serves him with the compromise from your sister, Rias, that allows them to stay in Kuoh as long as they renounce their allegiance to Grigori." The silver haired maid said while remain professional even in Sirzech's private office.

"Your research on his background?" Sirzech corrected his posture to a straighter and more focused one.

"Nothing remarkable. He is an adopted son of Issei's grandmother who left to Europe at the age of 17 to study then work until age 28 where he returned to Japan after a failed investment for his company. He adopted a daughter at age 26 because he thinks that marriage is simply too expansive and a waste of time and effort. He decided to take a shortcut and adopt a daughter instead. He seems to be so protective of his daughter that he killed 4 people during his stay in the United Kingdom for trying to harm his daughter." Grayfia recited the report she compiled.

"But that didn't explain how he possessed all that futuristic tech that even Ajuka got interested in." Sirzech sighed as he massaged his head trying to unravel the mysterious person named Ray or Raymond D'Angelo.

Weirdly enough his name literally called Angel of Protection. It does follow up on a few themes of his power. Dense armor that covered his body and he does look more like a defender than an aggressor.

"What shall I do next, Sirzech-sama?" Grayfia asked

"Do nothing for now but allocate some of my money to help Rias with nurturing his new pawn, the Red Dragon Emperor and their training."

"Even if I still cannot trust Raymond. I at least am very thankful to him for making Rias-chan willing to train instead of focusing on getting stronger peerage members and granting the devil race the Boosted Gear wielder. If we can raise the wielder of Boosted Gear well, our Gremory clan and devil race will benefit from this greatly." Sirzech explained while his wife cum maid nodded to his statement.

"Haah, why do we have to do this kind of job… I expect him to turn us into his bed warmer or trophy to flaunt but why do we have to work in a damned convenience store!" Kalawarna complained to Raynare as they both wear a matching uniform of red and white stripes, arranging products on shelves.

"Be grateful that he gives us an easy and relaxing job rather than sending us on a mission that will definitely be branded as criminal like Kokabiel." Raynare replied flatly while arranging the last craton of canned drinks in the fridge.

Kalawarna shut up after hearing some truth in Raynare's words. At least they aren't a part of a crime like when they are taking Kokabiel's order.

"He did said that we are serving as free labor for him… we are slave ro him and he didn't need to pay any wages." Raynare added randomly before she moved to another part of the store and continued to arrange products on the shelves.

The silence continues for a few seconds before Kalawarna asks another question.

"What will Azazel do if he knows about us? I mean, we basically defied his order to simply observe and take Kokabiel's order to cause problems in Kuoh. Now both overseers know about our existence and our previous deed."

"Meh, now that we become a slave, we act like one. Let Ray handle those matters and I will just focus on following his order. Not like we can defy him at all when he can hijack our body at any moment. Though, the idea that he can force himself on me at any moment feels sexy for some reason." Raynare says with blush appearing on her face.

Kalawarna look at her friend with raised eyebrows. She knew that Raynare is a horny fallen angel but to feel turned on when someone has full control of your body? There is a boundary of how far you can push it as fetish. This is definitely too far gone.

"Whatever that floats your boat, I guess." Kalawarna replied to her friend that been too far gone.

"However I do notice that he isn't interested in mine or your body at all. I thought he is gay at first but after checking that his sexuality is normal, I start to think he is a Lolicon."

"I mean, look at Mittelt. He wouldn't even bother to invite us to his bed yet Mittelt is allowed to sleep with him. He even gives a lot more attention to Mittelt than us. He basically threw us to this shop to work while Mittelt, Ray and his daughter went to visit a theme park in Tokyo."

"Wait, they went to a theme park! And they left us here to do the job!" Raynare instantly runs to Kalawarna and shakes her for the answer.

"Yes, I went back after you left to take the key and I overheard them planning to visit the theme park."

Raynare then fell to the floor while crying out the injustice.

In the afternoon, Ray, Cheshire and Mittelt already returned from Tokyo using the bullet train. He suddenly got a phone call from Miki Hyoudou.

"Hello?"

"Ah, Ray-san, I want to inform you that my husband and I just won a sponsored holiday trip across the world. We plan to take a long vacation for this. I hope that you will help look after Issei for us while we are away."

"Oh, definitely." I replied while trying to navigate myself out of the train station with Cheshire and Mittelt on my side.

"Oh, thank you very much. We will definitely send back some souvenirs for you and Issei." Then the call ended.

I wonder if this is the way Rias Gremory came out with to send Issei's parents away to not get involved in the supernatural and devil stuff in Kuoh town.

Then I called a taxi to take us to the convenience store check out on Raynare and Kalawarna. I also ordered takeouts to the convenience store for everyone to have lunch.

Kalawarna and Raynare are jealous that I went on a 'date' with Mittelt and Cheshire. No matter how much I told them I was simply bringing Cheshire to enjoy while Mittelt just tagged in, they still held a grudge. They wouldn't openly show it but they would whisper behind my back.

Feeling a headache from dealing with the girls, I went out to smoke a cigarette to clear my mind. While minding my own business, a weird haired man wearing a suit stopped next to me and decided to smoke a cigarette too. The man has black hair but weirdly a golden bangs on the front.

"Hello"

"Hello…"

The man greeted me which I greeted back. It feels awkward for a moment before he asks a question.

"Are you the boss of this new convenience store? Few days ago this shop was still out for rent."

The question he asks is quite mundane. I guess he is one of the nearby residents who got interested in the store I am going to open soon.

"Yeah, I rented this place two days ago and I'm planning to open it tomorrow or the day after. My employees sure work fast." I said after remembering that almost half of the shelves were already stocked with items on display.

"Oh, right. You are lucky to get two beautiful girls working at your convenience store eh. They both look passable even as a model." The man said while fantasizing about Raynare and Kalawarna.

"So, which team are you? Boobs, ass or thighs?" The man didn't bother to hide his perversion which reminded me of Issei and asked about my preference.

"Hmn… can't really decide one but my current favourite is thighs with tights or thigh-high." I replied before finishing my cigarette and threw it in the special slot on the bin for cigarette butt.

"A man of culture indeed, something laid bare is bland. Then, something hidden but enticing enough will spice up the flavour."

The weird man then left after waving me goodbye. I shrugged and returned to get Cheshire and Mittelt before returning home.

Since I have nothing to do this evening, I decided to make beef stew. I went out to the supermarket to buy some missing ingredients.

At first, I wanted to leave Cheshire and Mittelt at home but both of them used puppy faces on me. Feeling thoroughly defeated by cute faces, I brought them along.

Strangely enough, Mittelt's old personality definitely changed but neither Kalawarna or Raynare voiced anything about it and acted as if everything was normal.

Then during the cooking process, I'm not an experienced cook but I can manage with a video explaining the steps. My implants are also useful outside of combat as I can use them to assist me cooking. Especially the calculation and timer part.

After 7 pm, the tired Raynare and Kalawarna returned and saw food already being served. They devour the food before taking a bath. The remainder of the night is spent watching tv or movies. No one is dissatisfied and everyone is content with their new lifestyle.

At 9 pm, I usually already went to bed to put Cheshire into sleep. Mittelt recently joined which I didn't mind. They both want me to accompany them to sleep. Mittelt is especially clingy and likes to hug my arm while Cheshire likes to climb up to my chest instead of sleeping on a fluffy bed. After Cheshire fell asleep, I spent the rest of the night until 4 am grinding Mission.

That is how I spend my normal days which I doubt will stay the same if I keep getting involved with the devil via Issei. I knew that one day, trouble will come my way and the incident like the nuke will repeat again. This time it's way stronger than a mere nuke, this is a world with god level people roam freely.

Because of that mindset, I keep trying to get stronger and stronger with the ways given for me.

Around 4 am, I returned from my routine grinding session. I return to my bedroom to see a pair of silver eyes glowing in the dark staring straight at me. The woman has long silver hair to pair with her eyes and is wearing a French maid outfit at the corner of my room.

"I didn't remember ordering any home cleaning services…" I ask the most logical question at the moment.

I look at Cheshire for a second and she is unharmed. She still sleeps soundly while huddling with Mittelt to seek warmth. The maid noticed my action and sighed to herself.

"Rest assure Raymond-sama, I didn't seek trouble here and only wanted to complete the task given by my king." The maid bowed slightly. "I'm a maid that serves the House of Gremory and the queen of Satan Lucifer's peerage. My name is Grayfia, pleased to make your acquaintance."

"I am ordered by my king to bring Raymond D'Angelo to Underworld to meet my king."

After hearing her affiliation, I feel a little relieved because she is someone that Rias knew. The people of House of Gremory should be indebted to me for introducing Issei to them. They would not outright try to harm me at least…

"Can we change the time? I was a little tired as you can see." I tried to show that my body is fatigued from the grinding session. Although, the real reason is my mind fatigue.

The Mission will rejuvenate my physical fatigue at the start of each battle but my mind will keep accumulating fatigue. Honestly speaking, I wanted to fall asleep right now and rest my tired mind. However, the maid wouldn't take 'no' as an answer.

The maid's eyes narrowed and repeated her words again but with more pressure. She is forcing me to accept. I would love to fight back but I would risk Cheshire being caught in the battle and the maid knew it and simply smirk at my disadvantage.

"Fine then, I will follow."

"Glad that you are willing to comply."

I order the fallen angels to wake up and take care of Cheshire for me while I'm gone. The operators is also summoned to protect Cheshire. I didn't bother keeping much of my power hidden since I will reveal them at some point in the near future. Only after satisfied with the protection Cheshire had then I left with Grayfia.

One day… one day I will make her pay for using Cheshire to threaten me. While I am still weak, I have to lower my head. When I am strong, I will have her head under my feet. Not like they can do anything to me after I jump to another world. She should be grateful that I still have something that I care about more than my own life(lives).
