CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWELVE

Logan's angry, I get that but instead of flaring up at me, why couldn't he just ask me a question?

If he thinks I'm afraid of him, he's got another thing coming but first, I need to get a message to Judge Delany to find out what happen, since all Logan did is yell senselessly and I'm not responsible for whatever that upset him, he's not going to be forgiven easily this time.

Grabbing my laptop, I place it in a bag and decided to use my chair because he must have warned everyone off me.

No one returned with breakfast so he's starving me or maybe he's waiting to see if I'm going to defy him by going downstairs.

Darn right, I'm going to defy him!

Using the lift that was service since his grandmother was last here, I ventured downstairs and met Gwen as I made my way to the sitting room.

With a wide smirk, she came to assist me to settling in, unto the daybed and organized the extension for my laptop, my very best friend at the moment.

"I'm hungry," I told her, "and if you were the one bringing my breakfast earlier, I am sorry." I added, her laughter confirming it was her.

"Oh Gwen, can I borrow your phone?" I asked as she was walking away.

Dipping into the skirt pocket she looks over her shoulder, "we've been banned from giving you a phone right now." She whispers nervously.

Logan still doesn't trust her, so I decided not to put her in a position that could create more problems for her.

"Okay, just ask Jer to visit me," I requested instead.

Smiling, she nods and leaves the room to get my brother and my breakfast.

I logged on my laptop and the news popped up and as is customary, I started reading headlines and got intrigued when I saw the headline, 'POLICE RAID MAFIA FAMILY AND RESCUE UNDERAGED GIRL'.

What the f**k!

I opened the report and started reading it, realizing Judge Delany sent the cops in, to take Jessica out!

I did this!

But why is Logan upset?

I read the article again and frowned when I saw the raid took place around eight thirty pm.

That's last night but I called her after nine last night.

This time doesn't add up!

And there's no name, so is this connected to Clyde Daniels.

I need to call Judge Delany but I don't have a f**king phone!

Mrs. Stanley came with a tray, a bowl filled with strawberries, a banana and a peeled orange plus a box of cereal and a bowl of milk, wearing a grim expression.

"Why is everyone upset with me?" I asked instead of thanking her for the breakfast.

Giving me a sad smile, she sat beside me and whispered.

"The little I overhead is that Logan got a call on your phone from a Judge saying that a raid was already made on Clyde Daniels and she's going to personally deal with Jessica's case." Mrs. Stanley whispered. I felt bad that they felt that by sharing things with me would be, them betraying Logan.

Nodding, "I did make a call to the judge but it wasn't suppose, to be a raid," I explained, continuing when I saw Mrs. Stanley's deep frown. "I called after dinner last night but the news report says it was around eight thirty," as I said it, I hope it's true because all I wanted was freeing Jessica from Clyde's clutches.

Aware that Logan won't be upset, unless he's getting a backlash, "and this affects Logan.... how?" I asked softly.

With her eyes on the doorway, "the entire compound is on lockdown because Logan had an altercation with Clyde yesterday, someone from his camp issued a threat to Logan and his family." Mrs. Stanley says lowering the tone of her voice even more.

Clutching my chest, aware that I'm in the wrong and I started something I hoped to avoid.

"I didn't call for a raid!" I insisted but the only way I could prove it, was making a call to Judge Delany.

"You're not allowed to lend me your phone either, are you?" Lowering my eyes, already expecting her to say yes.

Smiling she took out her phone and hand it over to me, "keep it hidden until I return," she chuckles and pats my leg, before exiting the sitting room.

There's the probability that she's in court but at least I gave it a shot, hoping I have the phone after twelve to try again.

Taking the cereal I started eating a small amount because I have no appetite but I forced it down for the baby's sake.

With my eyes on the door, I scrolled through the surveillance cameras for Logan's whereabouts but he was nowhere around.

Panicking, I held my chest hoping he hasn't ventured on the outside but afraid to call him since I messed up, yet again.

Where the hell is Jer and Gwen?

I shut down the security app and left the laptop charging to take a nap and jolted upright when the phone vibe behind my back.

I automatically answered it without checking the number and smiled when I heard Judge Delany's voice.

She was in her office returning missed calls and I thanked her but asked about the raid.

I breathe a sigh of relief when she said she hadn't sent a request or call anyone to pull Jessica out from Clyde Daniels and that a further check revealed that a Mrs. Phillips made the call out of concern when she saw Jessica being mishandled by Clyde Daniels and she confirms that she's known Jessica since she was a baby.

I froze in fear with that information and begged her to keep Mrs. Phillips name out of this mess explaining my relationship to her, before hanging up.

I don't want to share this news with Logan but I have to keep her safe!
