CHAPTER THIRTEEN

LEAH'S POV

Logan didn't lose focus as he kept Mr. Antoine, arrested with an unreadable look in his eyes.

I turned to look at Jess only to find her staring at me with a triumphant smile, totally enjoying herself.

Nodding, "yes, yes," Mr. Antoine readily agreed, turning to me nervously, "again, I am sorry" he said before giving Jessica his attention. "Ms, Scott, I can't apologize enough for judging you wrongfully all this time" he said with remorse.

Smiling, "seeing you squirm is a good start" Jess retorted, I heard Logan's soft chuckles.

Standing up, Logan looks across at me with raised eyebrows.

Nodding, I stood up, "we're done for today, I'll see you in Family Court tomorrow" I told him, still angry.

Mr. Antoine stretched out his hand for me to shake, I looked down at his outstretched hand in disgust, turned and walked out taking Jessy with me.

"You didn't honestly expect her to shake your hand, right? My secretary will forward to you the details for tomorrow. I'll see you in court" I heard Logan say as Jess and I walked out the door.

Putting my hand on her shoulders turning her to face me, "Jess, today's another beginning, let these past three days be a learning experience for you. Don't allow anyone to ever back you in a corner again. You've overcome this obstacle and with your strength and my determination, you will overcome everything else" I say, giggling with her as we hugged each other.

She hugged me tightly, "now off you go" I told her sending her off to class.

She started to run to class, turning and ran back to give Logan, who was standing behind me a tight hug. "thank you so much for helping Jamie" she says, then adds, "and me".

He hugged her before she headed off to class.

" Thank you"I say turning to face Logan, "you're a God sent at this time and I will forever be grateful" I tell him sincerely.

Frowning, "this sounds like it's a goodbye" Logan observes.

Shaking my head, "no, you are going to be my boss as soon. as I sign the contract" I told him.

From the corner of his mouth , a smile started forming so I turned away from him and started walking towards the exit of the administration building.

With his longer strides, Logan quickly caught up with me, while I was still trying to figure him out.

Stopping I turned abruptly bumping into him, "whoa" he says holding my shoulders for balance.

Steadying myself, "just so you know I'm doing this on my terms and I choose my own models." I informed him as I backed away from being in close proximity with him.

Narrowing his eyes he looked at me, "we can deal with that at my office" he suggests, "I have to go to family court first, my secretary is already there" he says.

Do I want to go through with this? No, but I have too because I can't afford losing Jessy.

Nodding, I walked silently with him, to his car. He open the car door for me and like the lady that I am, I thanked him, as I slid into the front seat. "Thanks" I said quietly.

The short drive to the court house was comfortably silent, even though I felt Logan's eyes on me, I continued staring out the window thinking about how my life has change in the last four days and all because of the man sitting two feet away from me.

Logan drove into the parking area of the court house which was unknown to me because all the times I've been there I use the front entrance.

As we got off the lift on the third floor a gorgeous blond woman in her twenties wearing a dress two sizes smaller by the looks of it, emphasizing all of her curves , walked up to Logan with a dazzling smile. "You're here" she says happily.

" What do you have for me?" Logan responded, seemingly annoyed.

His response to her apparently took her of guard because her poise appearance changed instantly. "Uh.. I have made the petition for you. You and your client need to be in court for ten." she fills him in, only noticing me as I walked closer behind him.

"Ten works for you?" Logan turned asking me with a smile.

Smiling "yes, it will have to" I answer end nervously, smiling at him.

"Would there be anything else?" the woman whom Logan failed to introduce me to asked.

"No, that's it" he told her, before looking back to me. "You ready?" he asked softly. Nodding, happy to leave this building today but nervous about coming back tomorrow.

The blonde woman, interrupted us, "Logan, " she purred his name, drawing Hus attention back to her.

With raised eyebrows, he waited for her to continue.

"There are some documents to sign back at the office" she informs him.

"Okay"he said, agreeing with her. " I'm on my way there now" he responded, starting to walk away.

"You travelled here?" Logan ask her

Her dazzling smile reappeared, "yes" she nodded.

With a tight smile, "okay, I'm packed in the car park" he informed her, turning to walk as I also step in line with him.

"Am I going with you?" I leaned over whispering to Logan.

"You bet your sweet ass, you are. I'm not going into my vehicle alone with her" he cringes.

Chuckling, we stepped into the lift, with the woman whose name I still don't know, standing in front of Logan and I.

When we got to the carpark, the woman. address me for the first time, "you're going with us?" she ask me feigning politeness.

Smiling,"yes" I responded to her, just as politely, hearing a soft chuckle from Logan.

As we neared the car, she walked briskly in front of us. Instead of pressing the alarm, Logan walked in strides with me, ushering me towards the front seat.

"Thank you" I muttered, sliding into the seat, hearing the door slammed in.
