CHAPTER SEVENTY TWO

JAMIE'S POV

Logan and Cameron took me to the hospital for the ultrasound and an x-ray on my spine which I had to be convinced was safe, before I allowed it.

Thankfully Dr. Morris gave me a clean bill of health inspite of the risks involved. If I am not careful I could have a miscarriage. I believe that Dr. Morris's bluntness was to ensure that I keep myself and my baby safe. He did however inform my husband that if there's another episode like last night, he will put me on permanent bed rest for the duration of the pregnancy.

That's a sacrifice I am willing to make, but it's scary, even with the support of everyone around.

Cameron sat with me in the car as we awaited Logan at the hospital. I was hungry but I'm not going to bother this new person who seem to be very close to the Daniel's family.

Logan return to the vehicle beaming with a folded wheelchair, winking at me as he caught me staring at his sexy smile. Cameron sitting in the drivers seat, open the back door for Logan to store the chair, before he comes around to join me.

"Thank God for the doctors report, but Jamie your pregnancy is a risky one and I need you and our daughter to be safe" Logan whispers to me, kissing my head and my cheek, hugging me to him, as Cameron drove out of the hospital.

"I promise when you are angry with me to stay and fight you and not wander outside to breeze off." I said.

Drawing away to look down at me, "me angry with you?" he responded with an incredulous gasp.

Remembering that Logan returned to the cabin to start world war three with me, "why were you so angry?" I asked, noticing him struggle, to remain unmoved by my question.

Looking ahead unto the road, "I forgot." he sounded, unconvincing.

Shrugging out of his arms, "I don't believe you, so spill." I demanded glaring at his now cold and impassive face.

Last night he was raging and now he's pretending that it was nothing.

Getting upset again,. "I might be incapacitated because of my pregnancy but I am not stupid. How can you forgot something that you were ready to kill me for last night." I scolded him. I could see his jaw clench as he fought to control his emotions, without looking at me.

Through clenched teeth, "I could never kill you but I would most certainly kill for you" he whispered dangerously.

I stare at the man sitting beside me, a stranger, my husband, wondering why he is so angry and how did I contribute to it. If he won't tell me, then how am I expected to correct whatever I did.

"Okay if you forgot that, then tell me what occurred last night after I returned to the cabin?" I probed, adding, "that is if you remember." I goaded him, needing, wanting a reaction from him, because I need some truths and if I can't get it being nice, then I'm going to be a first class bitch.

I felt the car slowing down before I realize that Cameron, was already stopping on the shoulder of the street. He opened the door and stepped out leaving Logan and I alone.

Logan turned angrily to face me, "never challenge me again." he growled.

Not intimated by his threat or the way his dark blue eyes stared impassively at me.

"Then stop treating me like a f***ing porcelain doll!" I clench my fist ready to take him on, regardless of the consequences.

He narrowed his eyes at me angrily, "this conversation is over." Logan said, reaching for the control to roll down the window for his driver.

"No!" I shouted, pulling his hands away from the control. Logan turns to stare at me in surprise. "This conversation hasn't even started yet." I declared, positioning myself for him to challenge my statement.

Logan looked out the window then back at me. "Not now Jamie. Trust me, you don't want to do this now." Logan warns me again.

I look at this stranger in disbelief, shaking my head, frustrated. I guess I will have get my information elsewhere.

I leaned over him rolling the window down, "I'm ready." I tell Cameron, who stood with his back facing us. Yet he heard my firm request and walked back to the vehicle.

"Drop me at the office." he instructed his driver, without looking at me, he started sending a text message on his phone.

So this is how it's going to be, all because he refuses to be honest with me. I feel a sense of sadness starting to creep in and I am actually starting to give into it because when I do, I am capable of locking off the people around me and now that will include the stranger sitting beside me.

We were already heading to the cabin so Cameron had to turn around, making the drive back to the cabin longer for me, because I am hungry and I need to pee.

I look out the window clenching my thighs and my fist, thinking about what I could eat now if I had my way. I refuse ask the driver because he would report back to Logan and right now the less Logan knows, the better it will be.

Cameron pulled up in front of Logan's office, but I choose to ignore him as he had been doing for the past fifteen minutes because his phone occupied his time.

I felt a kiss on my head and a side hug, but I refuse to acknowledge him. After a few seconds he released me and exited the vehicle slamming the door behind him. I didn't turn to see him off, even though I am already missing him.

"Whatever is going on, you are his first priority." Cameron said as a text came on my phone.
