CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT

Logan and I were the first to leave the table last night, as I kept fighting the sleepiness that was overtaking me.

Even though I tried hiding my yawns, Mrs. Stanley instructed Logan to take me inside because I was exhausted from spending all day outside anxiously awaiting their return.

Logan didn't seem surprise by this news but he eagerly agreed to take me back inside.

I offered for him to rejoin his family but he refused and took a warm bath with me, before joining me in bed.

Logan didn't speak much, other than ensuring I was comfortable before snuggling up with me.

I was awake long after Logan slept, thinking of worst case scenarios after my surgery and one of the things I knew is my child's wellbeing.

I will ask Judge Delaney to help me get a lawyer to draft up paperwork, ensuring my brother as legal guardian over my baby, if Logan breaks certain rules and if the woman he chooses later on, doesn't treat my child right.

I still have to discuss my phone conversation with judge Delaney with Logan but of course he was MIA all day and then we argued, once again.

Darn, I still have to update Logan about Judge Delaney's call and the mysterious movements around the Castle, my castle.

I started shaking him awake, "Logan wake up!" I whisper yelled, shaking him. When he won't budge, I shook him harder, "wake up," whisper yelled closer to his ear.

Lying down on his stomach, he turned around quickly, his hand hitting me in the process.

"What the hell Jamie?" He yelled when he saw me sitting beside him rubbing my shoulder, where he hit me, unintentionally.

Glaring at him as he tries to sit upright, "you didn't have to hit me, this hard" I whined, rubbing my shoulder.

"Next time you try waking me up, don't stay to close," he advised me, rubbing his still half opened eyes.

Frowning deeply, he stares at me, "are you okay?" He reaches out to touch my shoulder where he just hit me.

Nodding, "yes, I'm fine," I responded, his confused frowns deepens.

Shaking his head, confused now, "then why did you wake me, as if the earth is collapsing?" He asks, his palms sweeping over his face.

"Well I didn't realize I needed resurrection powers to wake you," I retorted, adjusting myself against the pillows, "but since you're awake, we could talk now," I added, with a smirk.

Leaning towards me, "I love you, you know that?" He asks and I nod, because I know he does and what he did for my brother also proves it.

Smiling, I nod, "and I love you, you know that don't you?" I asked repeating his sentiments.

Scratching his head, "I do wonder sometimes," he mumbles, with a smirk.

"Well now that love is in the air, let's discuss the problems," I started to say, when Logan tensed up.

"Problems?" He repeated and I nod.

"Yes, the problems or more like answers to my questions, or more precisely, Judge Delaney's concerns.

Masking all of his emotions, Logan nod slowly, waiting for me to continue, but to say I surprised at this hour, with this conversation is a definite.

"I'm listening," Logan says, encouraging me to continue.

From his demeanour, I know he's concerned about whatever I am about to ask and this time I hope he gives me honest answers, even if I am not allowed to relay the information to Judge Delaney.

"What's going on at my Castle?" I asked, keeping my eyes on him, but he seemed unfazed by my question, responding at first with a small smile.

"What do you want to know?" He responded, keeping his eyes on me for maybe , my reaction?

Huffing softly, "exactly what I asked" I retorted, wondering if he's trying to avoid the question of is he making up a plausible explanation?

"What's going on?" Logan repeats softly still pondering on my question.

"I'm doing maintenance on the building," raising his eyebrows as my eyes widen in disbelief.

Chuckling, "yes, I'm changing the plumbing for starters, plus I am refurbishing the bathroom and the kitchen, with modern essentials." Logan informed me and I realize he's not lying because the police can easily check on that, but he's hiding more.

"Why?" I asked instead.

Breathing deeply, "it's yours and I want you as my queen to live in a Castle." Logan simply explains.

Frowning, I sit upright, "aren't we building here?" I ask, being the one whose confused now.

Losing his smirk, Logan's entire countenance changed. His seriousness scares me and I hope my expression doesn't reveal my fear.

'This is our home away from home," Logan clarifies "but the Castle is going to be our main house of abode." His tone dismissing any further questions.

"King Daniels needs his Castle," I whispered, remembering mom's words and in spite of my reluctance, I also remember Mrs. Stanley's.

Logan didn't hide his surprise at my soft comment, but smiled softly.

"Ah, I can see that mom's been talking to you." He concluded by my response and anything I say will not add or take away from it, so for now and out of respect for Mrs. Stanley, I resigned myself into accepting Logan's decisions for the future. His future.

"Okay," I slid slowly under the sheets realizing this conversation is more than over. "Please call Judge Delany and give her a grand tour of your progress on the building." I advised him, turning on my side, my back facing him, as I prepare myself for another sleepless night.

"Jamie," Logan whispered, touching my shoulder, but I didn't answer, nor did I shrug him off when he came to hug me or cuddle me to sleep.

Logan was not in bed when I awoke, but my bedroom, smelt like a floral shop. Sitting up, I smiled happily at the white roses, the white orchids, the white lilies and the white carnations.
