CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE

I stayed on the line with Mr. Daniels, while Jer stared down at me, his worry lines confirming his concern for our sister, the one he was upset with a few moments ago.

I am also anxious about Logan's reaction when he realizes I went behind his back to call my sister and beingon the phone with his grandfather.

"You are not worried about your husband moving on, but are concerned about a sister who hates you." Mr. Daniels was saying but I heard the question in his words.

I cannot give him reason to doubt my running away.

"Logan moving on means he won't be looking for me or my baby and as much as it hurts, it's a decision I made when I left." I responded to Mr. Daniels, hoping it's the answer he wanted.

"Really?" Mr. Daniels asks and I fearfully sense doubt at his question.

"I told Jess the last time I called that I would call her when I get somewhere livable, so please let her know I called and I will try again another time." I explained, leaving a departing message with him for Jess.

"Do you think Logan is looking for you?" He asks instead and I know this is a question I can honestly answer.

"You said he has moved on so he has no need to look for me." I retorted softly, my eyes locked on the doorway.

Chuckling, "oh, but you have his baby." Mr. Daniels reminded me.

Laughing dryly, "I am sure Angela will help him out there, so again, there will be no need for him to search for me." I continued trying to sound nervous about him, insinuating, that Logan would be looking for me.

Realizing I need to make my lies believable, "you can finally have what you want, me out of his life and him with the person you want him to be with." I said quickly, my voice breaking up. I just hope it sounds as if I am panicking.

"Oh but I don't have what I want, yet" Mr. Daniels said, sparking my interest.

"And what is that?" I asked and this time I was genuinely nervous.

"Your baby" Mr. Daniels, retorts calmly.

"What? But why?" I asked confused now.

"This is the child that will bring Logan to his knees and do my bidding, one hundred percent" Mr. Daniels chuckles dryly.

Taking deep breath.

Why is he telling me this?

"You have to find me first" I said slowly, suddenly feeling as if I am on the run and on the run with my baby, who Mr. Daniels intend to use against Logan.

"Oh, just a heads up! I will find you" Mr. Daniels says with a determination, that is actually scary.

"Please," I pleaded and this time I am pretending.

"You don't have to worry, your sister will take very good care of the child, plus Logan will be very hands on," he continues to disclose his plans for my child, but why.

"Logan will never find me and I will never give my baby to him." I faked a determination, I didn't know I had.

Chuckling, "you won't have a choice, if you're dead" his evil laughter ringing out in my ears.

Without listening further, I pressed the off button, but still looked around for Whiz or Jer to make sure it was off, but found my angry husband staring back at me and he definitely didn't appear to be drunk.

Pressing a finger to his lips, he takes the phone from my hand and walks around the table shutting the system off totally.

"It was shut off?" I asked quickly.

Glaring at me, "that is the least of your worries," he retorted, emphasizing his anger, but I didn't do anything wrong and I did find out about his penthouse and the persons there could possibly be at risk.

I turned around to look for Jer, "he left" Logan says coming around the table to face me.

Folding my arms I lifted my chin showing my determination to win whatever fight he want to pick with me.

"Why the f**k would you call him?" Logan asked angrily staring down at me.

Glaring back at him, "first of all, I am not your witness on a stand and secondly, I called for Jess not him." I explained, still determined, not to be intermidated by him.

"F**k Jaie, what will I do with you?" Logan mummers, stooping in front of the chair I was sitting on.

"Love me forever?" I joked.

Chuckling, "got that covered" Logan reminds me, raising his eyebrows with his sexy smirk.

"You walked?" Logan asks looking around, although he's suppose to know, if I'm not sitting on it, it isn't here.

Nodding, I moved to stand up, but I shifted when Logan tired to lift me bridal style.

"I'm fine" I smiled, wrapping my arms and blanket around him.

Staring down at me, his expression unreadable, "should I be worried about anything grandfather said?" He asks and I nod, moving out of his arms and walked out the room with our hands entwined.

"I'm sorry" I said as I saw Whiz standing with a guy, I normally see around, but whose name I don't know.

With his eyes on Logan, Whiz laughs, "oh, I'm not the one in trouble" he laughs, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

Jer!

Turning around to Logan, "it isn't Jer's fault" I said quickly, "I kinda threatened him and bullied him." I explained. "It's all on me, I promise." I said softly.

Adjusting the blanket around me, Logan wraps an arm around my shoulder, "check and make sure there were no trace and send me a feedback of the conversation." Logan instructed Whiz and I stopped and frowned at them.

"The conversations are recorded?" I asked, my voice slightly raised in surprise.

Whiz looks at Logan, then at me, "guess no one's in trouble now," he chuckles walking back into, what I would call his office.
