CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT

Instead of joining Justin and his team, I ended up going with dad to the location Justin planned to visit while Cam still worked on Angela at grandfather's former residence.

Turning to scowl at me once again, "here?" dad asks when the hotel, grandfather presently resides comes in view.

Chuckling, "do you need a more convincing alibi for our whereabouts when we're with him?" I snicker, looking around, "you just have to remember whose side you're on." I reminded dad.

All grandfather could assumed, is that Justin called in on Amy as he usually does and went over to the penthouse to check on her, only to find her gone and the apartment in a mess.

That's what we are starting with, even though we're still preparing ourselves incase grandfather creates his usual chaos.

"Are you aware that Douglar could be there?" Dad asks and I nod, because I am also prepared for him.

No one and I mean no one, threatens my wife and unborn child and gets away with it!

Grandfather is accustom to Robert and dad's other 'friends' so they were the only ones who went with us, along with Justin, whose family suddenly went missing.

On the way up dad turned to face me angrily, "let me do the talking," he scowls at me once again.

Holding my head in my hands, "not so loud," I moaned in agony.

Lifting his eyes to the elevator counter, "you have three minutes to sober up," he advises me and I nod, dutifully.

As the door opens, dad exits ahead of us, with Robert and his two other 'friends', leaving Justin and I to follow them.

Leaning closer to Justin, "let's tackle the bitch" I whispered, straightening myself when dad stopped and turned around to glare at me.

Shrugging, "What?" I retorted to his silent glare.

"Behave" he instructs me, then points to Justin, "both of you," he warns us.

Nodding, "yes sir" Justin agrees.

Having already brief dad in on how we plan to approach grandfather and our offer to find Angela Lawrence if she is indeed missing, I feel confident, that this mission, like every other, will be successful.

"Mr. Daniels" a security outside grandfather's suite nod to dad politely and glares at me.

What the f*ck now?

"They stay outside" The guard says to dad, pointing at his two other 'friends' and Justin.

Dad turns around to face us and I nod at Justin and the closed door,

"He's here to see my father with some personal business, concerning his family." Dad explains and the guard stares at Justin sceptically, before making his own decision and opens the door for the three of us to enter.

First mistake!

Robert's in charge until a problem arises, then Cam comes in.

Dad, walks ahead of us as usual with my eyes roaming the halls for a sign of my grandmother or my f**king sister-in-law.

There were men scattered around, but they didn't pay us any mind because it's dad. If I was walking in front, things would have been so very different.

Clearly, my grandfather has trust issues with me!

"Where's my grandmother?" I asked around, as I ventured into the sitting room area.

"In her bedroom" the guard says, "I'll inform her that you're here" he was saying when I waved him off.

"I can find my way" I said striding off, leaving dad and Justin to carry on.

Knocking once, I didn't wait for an invite and just entered grandmother's bedroom, blocking my eyes as I did as a kid.

"I hope you're decent" I chuckle, walking further inside the room.

"What the f*ck are you doing here?" grandfather's voice bellows and I'm convinced the entire building heard him.

Removing my hands from over my eyes, I covered my ears.

"Enough with the shouting," I whispered, "dad has been doing that all evening," I complained to my angry grandfather, turning to my grandmother, lying silently observing us.

"Why are you here at this ungodly hour of the morning?" Grandfather asked and I shrugged, massaging my temples, from the piercing pain, of alcohol.

Glaring angrily at him now, "ask your son, he's one who dragged me down here, to help f*cking you" I muttered, forcing a smile at my grandmother.

My expression soften for this woman who in spite of everything gave me the best that she could give me and always treated me great,

"Why?" Grandfather asks, sitting up straight, eyeing me curiously.

"He wants to help?" I retorted because I realize this is going to be question and answer session until he gets fed up of dealing with me and goes down to meet dad.

"Help with what?" Grandfather asks and I shook my head in frustration.

Lifting my hands in despair, "I don't know, you go find out." I bark at him angrily. "Didn't you call him concerning Angela Lawrence?" I asked slowly now.

Chuckling, "so you want to help find Angela?" Grandfather asks and I gasp.

Is this what he thinks.

Laughing loudly, "I couldn't care less if she burns in hell for eternity." I exclaimed, his smug expression disappearing instantly.

"How dare you!" Grandfather yell and I quickly turned to look at the doorway incase dad hears grandfather yelling

and blames me.

Chuckling dryly at him, "the heart wants what it wants, grandfather, you of all people knows that." I retorted, giving him a smug look.

Grandfather's eyes quickly darted across to grandmother, who was staring at him, with a bland expression.

Huffing, "answer him sweetheart, answer your grandson." Grandmother suggests to him, but of course he's going to blame me for my grandmother getting involved in this.

"I am looking into a theory, about Angela Lawrence's disappearance," I said to grandmother, hoping to work on her soft spot for me and the thing she hates most about my grandfather.

Taking the bait, "and what is that Einstein?" Grandfather mocks.

"Your mistress children, they broke into my, penthouse."
