CHAPTER EIGHTY

The Phillips left, but took with them, Jamie, who strongly believes that she has connections with them.

The sound of arguing outside, distracted me. I left Jamie inside, pulling out my gun.

Upon opening the door I saw Jerome pushing one of my other men up against his truck.

Cameron abruptly pulled up behind Jerome's truck, as I walked briskly towards Jerome and the guy, he had against his truck. Rushing up, I dragged Jerome off the man.

"What the f**k is going on here?" I bellowed. Everyone starts speaking at the same time.

"Get to the side of the building" I instructed everyone, looking towards the cabin ensuring that my wife isn't looking on, before following the men to the side.

Agrivated, because now, I have to not only secure my family and my men but I have to babysit a bunch of f****** children.

Everyone was waiting for me, "someone care to tell me what the f*** is going on here?" I shout, not having the patience to deal with insignificant problems right now,

Cameron stood, legs apart and fists tightened, staring angrily at Jerome and two of his men, waiting for someone to speak first.

Running his hands through his head in frustration, Jerome looks around and then at me. "I f***** up," he says slapping the palm of his hands against his cheeks.

"That doesn't answer my question! What the f*** happened?" I spoke harshly to Jerome staring at the men.

"I almost got everyone killed!" he cried in frustration. "I'm sorry man I'm so f****** sorry! The choices I made today almost got us all killed." Jerome says, his shoulders, sagging slightly as he starts releasing his anger.

I notice Cameron is still standing rigid full of anger. "Go get something to drink and sort yourselves out" I suggested to Jerome and the guys, walking away, nodding for Cameron to follow me.

Taking one deep breeh, Cameron, opens his fists and starts flexing his fingers. "Have something to eat and I'll see you in a bit" Cameron orders, before following me, muttering, "tell Justin to get his f****** ass back her ASAP!"

Before I could open the backdoor, it was yanked open and Jamie was standing looking at me with her hand on the door knob.

What now?

Ignoring me, Jamie turns to Cam, "come have something to eat," Jamie invites him in. "I know that your breakfast was cut short because of my hot headed brother" she smiles, apologetically.

Nodding his head, "don't mind if I do, ma'am" Cam smiles, tipping his baseball cap.

Wow, she can be a lady when it suits her. I chuckle at the thought.

Cam moves past me to get inside the door, Jamie, held open for him, but pulls it back in, before I could enter.

Titling my head, observing her pouted lips, "do I need a password to enter?" I asked with a smirk.

Pretending to think about my question, Jamie shakes her head, "uh, no. I don't think so." she responds looking behind me, before her gorgeous grays returned to me. "All I want is the truth." she says simply.

Frowning, "isn't that what I have been trying to do for the last two days?" I looked at her in surprise, wondering what it is that I am suppose to be keeping from her now.

"What was the argument with the guys about, just now?" Jamie seems to be anxiously awaiting my response.

Irritated, "if I was allowed inside, I would have mention it but apparently, I am still a visitor in my wife's home..." I trail off impatiently, showing her we were still standing on her backdoor.

Her cheeks flushed as she looks down in embarrassment, "I'm sorry" she mutters, turning to walk away, but I pulled her back. "I can walk" she hesitates, her eyes on the brink of tears.

I could never be angry at this girl, I realized, looking down where she constantly, has one hand cradling her belly, protectively. Leaning across, I kissed her, releasing her hand, I cupped her cheeks in my palm as deepened the kiss with Jamie's encouragement.

It feels so good to hold Jamie standing in my arms, her head on my breast, without heels. I hugged her tightly.

"Is this going to be a regular thing?" Jerome says, looking at Jamie and I in disgust, as he waits for u us to move so that he could enter the kitchen.

I turned to look at him, seeing anger still etched in his dark brown eyes, that's glaring at me with a challenge.

Refusing to do this in front of Jamie, I held Jamie and move to allow him to pass, but he didn't move.

Sensing the tension, Jamie frowns at Jerome, "Jer? Is everything okay?" she reaches for him in concern.

Narrowing his eys, Jerome, glances between his sister and I, cold icy stance, disappearing as he must have realize that I didn't mention anything to his sister. Now the ball is in his court.

Shaking his head, "no I'm good", he leans down and kisses her on the head, nods at me, then leaving us, staring after him. He stops in front of Cam and they spoke quietly for a two minutes before going up to his room.

Cam nods and I walked into the kitchen with Jamie walking beside me. This is perfect!

Mrs. Stan, gives Jamie an disapproaving look before addressing me, "would you like something to eat?" she offers. "I'm good" I told her, pulling out a chair for Jamie, before taking two beers from the refrigerator.

I sat down in from of Cam, "speak!" I place a beer infront of him. Jamie had a disgusted pout but I ignored her.

"The guys have have a problem with Jerome" Cam started, with his eyes on the chicken he was cutting.

Apparently he was taking too long to continue, "and?" Jamie prompts him quietly, worry clearly evident. I place a hand on her thigh.

Chuckling, Cam raised his eyes to see the both of us waiting, impatiently,.
