Chapter 9 : The test

3 rd POV

On monday morning . Akira set off the campus on way to breakfast

"Hey,wait up ! "A voice said

"Phew ! i caught you "Nicholes said

"What's up " Nicholes said

"Sign up for the clubs is this week .I wanted to make sure you were on board for the sports team .Luther next door said no , but Daniel is in "Nicholes said

"What sport we are doing " Akira said

"Does it matter "Nicholes said

"It matters what I am playing .if it's too boring count me out "Akira said

"We can vote on that later ! First I have to get enough people to agree and find out what sort of team we can manage . Promise you will join "Nicholes asked me

"Can't promise that "Akira told him

"Be sure to consider it " Nicholes told akira

"And as long As we are both doing it , Eric will have to stop studying all the time to join us "Nicholes said

"No offense but studying isn't the only way to live life " Nicholes proposed the idea

he waves and jogs away .

Akira POV

Well so ,what I am going to do this week ?

Why not let's spam blue magic classes I like them very much .I have pretty much attended all lectures .So there is no need to attend them for a while .Let's master blue magic and attend them .

I studied blue magic from all the week .

<After the week >

Akira pov

I arrive at the gym to see a haphazard collections of booths and tables and clouds of underclassmen swirling around them .

Raven Darkstar from Class-B is with a group that appears to be the Drama Club . Someone else has a "Save The Dragons"banner.....

Save them from what ? Maybe from me .

Eric is already here ,standing by the wall looking around before joining the throng .

"Hey you guys " Nicholes came here

"Come on ,you have to put up your names on the form to make it official ! My signup's over there "Nicholes said

"Eh? "Eric said quite surprised

Nicholes grabs us both and drags us to over his station.

"Sign it ,Sign it " Nicholes pressured us .

"All right , already ,let go of our wrist ."Eric said pouting .

"Sorry "Nicholes said

"You guys sign it .I have to grab some more people "Nicholes said

He hurries away , Eric sighs and picks up the pen .

I wait for Eric to write his name on the form ,then I sign beneath that .

"I am going to look around and see what other clubs are there .Okay ?"Eric told us

"Yeah ,I guess I should too "I told him

I wonder if magical universities care what club you were in magical school .Is there a magical Honour society ?

Let's write a letter to mom

Dear Mom

I Have only gotten one letter from you so far .What is happening back home ?

I Have met so many people here and most of them are nice but it's not the same

Not like I care about it

My roommates and I have started a sports club .We have had our first meeting today and played some pickyp soccer .So don't worry . I am getting plenty of exercise.

Maybe you get crazy and possessive over me again .But I won't kiss you again If you Keep in your room again .

I will escape and come here again .

With a sigh , I seal up the envelope and put it on my desk , ready to send

It hasn't even been a month yet but I can't help feeling homesick .I just have to take each day as it comes

<Outside>

I decide to go for a walk outside the campus .

As I am wandering around the buildings ,I notice a tall figure tossing a ball up in the air and catching it .

As I got closer , I realise that I'm wrong .SHe is not throwing and catching it .SHe is not touching at all .

With a flick of her wrist , she sends it flying upward where it eventually reverses course and comes back down again to be caught when she manages to line up the tip of her wand with the falling sphere .

"What are you doing ?" I asked her

"control exercise " Isabella replied to me with a slight blush seeing me

The trouser shop did its miracles .She afraid to look at me in the eye .Maybe I should take others there too once in a while

"Is it hard ? " I said asking about the exercise

"It's a matter of keeping your focus , keeping your rhythm ,and not using too much force or it will get away "Isabella said .

"If you want to show off .You do this with an egg .Makes it more obvious when you miss "She said

"Do you want to do with the egg so that you could impress me ?"I asked her and showed the obvious

"A-AH . But it's n-not l-like I d-did when you s-show up here "She said .

I got the answer I wanted . YAYAY . Akira supremacy .

"Can I try with the ball ?"I asked her with using my puppy eyes technique

"If y-you really want to ...Catch! " SHe said

He flicks the ball high up into the air ,then steps out of the way .

I try to summon up some kind of energy to push up against the ball .But nothing happens .Thhe ball hits the ground and bounces away .

"Oops " I said

"Hey,don't worry .you're only a freshman .This is upper-class stuff . You are not supposed to be able to do it " Isabella said .

That's true Isabella is a senior .Not only that she is also the class president .he is probably really good at magic.But still I want to learn that

"You are better off practising spells that are meant for your level . Espcially right now ,if you know what I mean " Isabella told me

"Huh? " I said in confusion

But I want to learn right now and what she meant by it

"You will find out " She said

She probably meant exams or some trails I guess .

She winks , then goes to pick up her bell

Practise . I suppose I should get back to my dorm and think about what I am going to do next week .

<Dorm >

Nicholes yawns and stretches .

"That's for another week to grind "Nicholes said

"Wait! " Eric said

"Huh?What? " Nicholes said

"Well."Eric said

"The first big exam is today right ?" Eric said

"sure " Nicholes replied without any hesitation

"Who is giving the exam ?What are we supposed to know ?When does it happen ? " Eric asked

"no idea ." Nicholes said without any care .

I know it's wrong coming from me but how does he don't care about the exams and still gain good marks for it . He even doesn't care about class merits or anything at all .Its like he comes for the sole purpose of Learning magic

He might not say it loud but I get the feeling .Maybe I should push forward the conversation

"Aren't you supposed to know these things? Your family -"I asked him before he cut me off

Nicholes waves a hand dismisselvy with a dark face

"I DON't want talk about them "He said

Maybe he has some issues with his family . I don't want to pursue anymore on his family for now .

"Secrets! All kinds of secrets .Isabella says if she tells me what's on the tests then the tests wouldn't be fair " Nicholes told me

Not if you try to take her to a certain shop though .

"Well ...It would be wrong for her to tell you the answer .That's cheating and Isabella would never do that "Eric said

"What kinds of tests are they ?DO we have to write essays or fight duels ?"I asked him

"Look All I know about it is that it's about casting spells that's it " Nicholes said

We left the conversation as we are not getting anywhere

<Night . Dorm night >

I wake up in the middle of night and I can't remember why

"Oh ! Go further "Someone is talking in his sleep

"Oh Akira ..."

"Dip in the "

Is Nicholes having a dream about me .Wait that's Eric voice calling me out

"Dip it in the sugerpot.. "eric said

I probably don't want to know what's this about

<Morning dorm room

"oops "Eric said

"Whaat " I said

Because We have been sitting here quietly working .I would almost forgotten the fact the fact was eric is in the room with me .It takes my brain a moment to catch up with what I just heard .

"I Was using Blue Magic to try and move a penny .but I don't know where it's gone " Eric said

"I disappeared accidently when I was trying my magic on it .Now I don't know where it is " Eric said in disappointment

"That's why you don't use the magic you don't have any affinity . Use the magic You are good with it "I said to eric

I used my magic and somehow managed to get eric's coin .With searching .Well I guess I am proficient in blue magic .

"I am so jealous of you . I wanted to use blue magic but I suck at it "He said

"Then try other magic you are good at it "I Proposed the idea

"Well , You can't change the you are born with it "I said

"It's important that one should love themselves for who they rather than being someone who they are not "I advised him

"There are somethings in the world we wouldn't change ourselves even if the world ended "I said determined

"T-Thank you , I don't know why you said .But that gives me a lot of relied " Eric said with joyful while blushing little with embrassement

I Guess he is pleased by my speech

Well akira is great at speeches and pleasing people .Never doubt him
