So Wikipedia definitely has a problem with vandalism. Anyone anywhere could just edit a page and or delete content at will. The way Wikipedia deals with it is by having bots banning IP ranges whenever they detect vandalism (as opposed to specific IPs). Although this would significantly reduce the amount of vandalism attempts and make it significantly harder for bots to attack Wikipedia, it also means that random people will be banned for something they didn't do.
