Mechanics
Hidden game mechanics are often really annoying. The worst of them all being hidden countdowns. Even knowing the secrets on what extends that timer and what shortens it, there are numerous players out there who just can't be bothered. Even simple tasks such as getting enough sleep, not doing drugs, not drinking that c0ke and so on and so forth. Even just steering off the main quest and occasionally training will at least add you a few years.
