I saw a video where someone mentioned that beating a doormat after 8 am is illegal in London, with a penalty of up to £1,000 or 14 days in jail.
So I did a bit of research, (maybe just a single google search) and found the following on Legislation.gov.uk;
Town Police Clauses Act 1847 Section 28,
"Every person who in any street, to the obstruction, annoyance, or danger of the residents or passengers, commits any of the following offences, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding [F1level 3 on the standard scale] for each offence, or, in the discretion of the justice before whom he is convicted, may be committed to prison, there to remain for a period not exceeding fourteen days, [F2 . . . F3; (that is to say,)]
[...]
F24Every person who beats or shakes any carpet, rug, or mat (except door mats, beaten or shaken before the hour of eight in the morning)"
So the actually law had an exemption for shaking doormats before 8 am.
From a legal perspective, you could definitely report your neighbors for shaking a carpet, rug, or mat. Huh....
In summary, you could probably be fined on any occasion based on all the random things listed within law books.
