Sitting in her office, Scarlett lifted her head to smile at Jett across the table. A few weeks had passed and her new job as CEO was settling in nicely.

Tapping the paperwork on the desk, she said, "Well, we are in the black this quarter. These last few shows with Bella brought us over. Not much profit, but at least we're ahead. It's a good start. I don't know where the extra money has gone, but we'll figure it out."

"I knew you could do it, Scarlett. You've got this and I'll be right here by your side to help make this a success."

"Thanks, I own this all to you and Bella."

A knock came at the door and their father's secretary peeked her head in. "Miss Archer, your mothers on the phone, it's your father."

Standing, she rushed to grab the phone. "Hello, Mom, what's wrong?..."

Seeing the look of terror in his friend's eyes, Jett rushed to her side, just as she collapsed in his arms.
