Volume 1, Chapter 1 - Worlds Collide

A scientist runs in the corridors of a certain facility located somewhere in America.

This scientist was involved in the making of a "Gate" or "Portal" to another world.

He runs as if he is being chased by a killer, but that is not the case.

"Where is General Son!"

The scientist yells this question several times until he reaches the control room.

"General Son, we must cease all experiments at once!"

The general to which he calls turns to him.

"Why is that, Dr. Hirako?"

"The world will be thrown into chaos unless we cease all experiments at once!"

Dr. Hirako says this in a fearful expression that gives the operators in the room goosebumps.

The General is not bothered by this.

"No. I don't think we will."

His eyes glow red for a split second.

Dr. Hirako notices this and looks down to try to question himself if what he saw was not his mind playing tricks.

"General Son. With all due respect. Do you not care about the people?"

General Son chuckles immediately when he hears this question.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA"

"I never once did. And I never will. Not in a thousand years of my lifetime."

Hearing this, the scientist looks up only to see a handgun pointed at his forehead.

"What did you mean by that General Son"

All this is happening in the control room.

An operator sitting next to the general speaks up.

"General Son, please reevaluate and put down your gun"

Of course, this was the operator's mistake.

[BANG]

General Son turned to the operator and shot them in the head instead.

"Now then Dr. Hirako, let us answer that question of yours shall we?"

 (Somewhere away from the control room in a huge room)

The room where all the experiments in relation to the "gate" was conducted.

There were multiple scientists jumpstarting a huge "Gate" like architecture that was as tall up to the ceiling which was a few stories high.

The scientists activate certain levers and buttons in order to activate the "Gate".

A moment later, the "Gate" has been activated and  releases an energy pulse that covers the entire facility causing a minor blackout.

 (Back to the control room)

In the control room, the General smiles maniacally at Dr. Hirako. 

"Ah. My brothers and Sisters are here."

His eyes glow a full red.

"Brothers and sisters?"

The fearful scientist questions this statement.

 (In the room with the "Gate")

A mysterious yet sinister looking humanoid walked out of the gate.

The figure was not much taller than the average human, but had features that humans didn't.

Skin as dark as red.

Wings that appeared to be burned.

A tail that had a diamond shaped tip at the end.

Armor that is the skin itself.

And a head that had horns like a bull.

And spoke a language not of this world they were in.

They were looking at a full fledged demon.

The scientist's present were in disbelief when this figure came out of the gate.

One excited scientist approached the demon and held his hand out.

"Hey there! Welcome to Earth."

"Careful Howard, we don't know if it's dangerous to come into contact with it. Let alone talk to it."

The cautiousness of the scientist's colleagues was the right approach.

The demon held out its hand to shake the scientist's hand.

"Of course, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance"

The scientist goes up in flames and is burned alive while his colleagues hear his cry in agony.

Not a second later, the scientists panic and try to escape the room.

"Ah yes. How long has it been since I've been able to enjoy this feeling?

Seconds later, the demon starts to set every scientist in the room on fire.

A second demon walks through the gate and examines the room.

"Hm. I see you enjoyed yourself."

"Am I not allowed to have fun, and also Carnarius, I thought you were busy guarding our home."

"Bael wanted me on this invasion, Astaroth"

"Hahahaha. Classic Baelzebub. Let's go find our comrade."

 (Back in the control room)

There is the General and Scientist.

They were watching everything from the operator room.

The General's appearance changed to that similar to the other demon's appearance which shocked Dr. Hirako.

"Just what are you?"

"That you will not know about since you will die anyway. But just for the fun of it, I guess your kind calls us Demons."

"Ah you can't tell it that Gusion"

Astaroth and Carnarius enter the control room.

"Ughh. I can't believe they sent you two first. I was watching from here."

"Well then, Gusion would you have liked Berith to come instead?"

Gusion got annoyed even more when the name, Berith, came up.

"It doesn't matter. The human will die anyway."

Astaroth and Carnarius show no signs of disapproval.

"Now then Dr. Hirako. Watch as we drive this world into chaos!"

Carnarius and Astaroth mutter an incantation.

A glyph of some kind appeared in response to their incantation being the size of the entire facility.

Before the scientist realized it, he was no longer alive to see the mass destruction that befell the world.

|It was the year 2015 when the world had been overtaken by demons in the span of 1 human year.

World Leaders around the world sent their soldiers to fend off the invaders.

But it would take 20 soldiers just to kill one demonspawn.

However after the portal opened, people born after awakened powers and special abilities. 

To some, these "gifts" were seen as a blessing by God. However, the governments didn't.

They saw them as weapons that could defeat the demons that invaded their world.

These people were eventually weaponized for war and were sent to fight the demons.

After a battle called, "The Great Conqueror War", the humans who had powers were given a name.

Manifester.

Manifesters manifested powers belonging to ancient beings.

Whether it be a god of mythology, a mythical creature, or a heroic champion from the past.

They would still be powerful enough to defeat a demonspawn.

If it weren't for the 72 Demon Monarchs, then battles would not have been as difficult.

A hundred years later, with the world population now being cut in half, 4 powers stood.

The United Allies.

The Republic Power.

The Union Empire.

And the Nation of the Congo.

During the 200 years of bloodshed, schools were built according to the Manifesters.

Each nation had a school that would train young manifesters to fight against the demons in their near future.|

 (In a house located in the United Allies)

Konpeki Seiryu's POV :

[Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep]

Ah yes.

I'm all too familiar with this annoying sound.

Well, it was a great way to wake up anyways.

Because today was the Orientation Day for the Academy of Inari.

But I'd best get ready for now if I don't want to be late.

After doing the morning routine, I'm met with a blue haired girl sitting on the dining table.

She's my sister of course.

I treasure her as if she was actually treasure.

That just means how much she means to me.

"Morning Sagiri."

"Morning onii-chan! How was your sleep?"

"It was god awful."

Of course it was, since nightmares appeared every night.

I said my goodbyes not long after eating the most important meal of the day and headed off to the academy.

Ah, I wonder if it's fine just not going to the academy.

But then again, I could be confined for doing so.

It has happened once before but that's a story for another time.

For whom I was met by, my best friend.

"Yo whats up Seiryu!"

Yagami Dai, as mentioned, is my best friend.

I was planning on walking to the academy alone but this will do just fine.

"Have you heard the rumors?"

"Hmm?"

"The rumors!"

"Ah the bloodsucker one right?"

"Yea yea!"

"What about it?"

Apparently there was a maniac going around killing people by sucking their blood.

Although no bite marks, it was stated to be the power of a Manifester.

We eventually made it to the academy where we were met by a wide array of students.

No one piqued my interest of course.

We entered the academy and went to the place where the orientation was being held where we eventually split our separate ways for the meantime.

Dai didn't tell me where he would go but it's none of my concern i believe.

Meanwhile I explored the campus getting to know the area a bit more in case something bad happens.

I unintentionally overheard some students talking.

"Hey did you hear?"

"What is it?"

"The student council president will hold a speech at orientation"

"Really? No way!"

Gossip.

Everyone's favorite hobby.

Rumors like this spread like a wildfire.

I wonder if people hundreds of years ago also gossiped about things like this.

I kept exploring and familiarizing myself with the area until I neared a space between a couple of buildings.

To be honest, I didn't like the first day of school until now.

There were a couple of students hanging out there.

I was going to move away thinking things were alright.

Although from what i was hearing it didn't sound like it.

There was a male and female student in this space.

"Hnnnnng stop please"

"What? I just wanna feel you up a bit"

The male student was sexually harassing the female student.

It was then the male student attempted to touch the crotch area of the female student.

I was not going to let this transpire as I dashed to the two and grabbed the arm of the male student stopping it in its tracks.

"You have a lot of balls to be interrupting this affair."

"I could say the same for you, except the affair part."

Yea, I could be royally fucked if I don't play my cards right.

If Dai were here with me, we could easily jump him.

I didn't want to get myself into this situation.

But I was in the wrong place at the right time.
