Bones thought initially that he would have won the second bout with his Escalation 2 because of how much of a power spike he experiences when transitioning from his Ink Empowered state to the Ink Extended state, but he did not take into account how objectively strong Freya would become in her own Escalation 2 state.
Thinking back to the fight, it was simply a matter of Freya easily outclassing on nearly all of the aspects of combat, apart from skill, and Bones putting up a decent fight before her overwhelming power simply just...overwhelms him.
As the warm shower water gently taps on his hair and carries away the dirt he brought along with him after the defeat, Bones couldn't help but think back to how beautiful Freya looked in the midst of battle. She almost becomes a completely different person when she fights, as a constant smile of excitement lingers while her eyes glowed nothing but pure joy.
