Back At It Again

River sits on the sofa in the living room with the girl and the boy. The girl rattles, kindly offering canned food they have in the house. He politely eats the food, while looking at young lovers sitting beside each other across from him. He tries his best to hide his jealous expression.

"Aiden, my friend, so why don't you consider my offer one more time?" River puts his fork down on the plate.

"I'm not interested at all," The boy firmly answers.

"What offer?" The girl's eye gleamed with curiosity.

"I told Aiden that he should join my team to eradicate all these zombies, as our last hope for humanity," River explains thoroughly.

"There are still many humans besides us?" The girl exclaims in excitement.

"Yeah," River smiles, then continues "Not much, but enough to build a new era, though we don't have many girls around." He glances at the girl, checking her out from up to down.

"Don't look at her like that," The boy covers the girl's presence behind him.

"Like what?" Rivers snickers, enjoying The boy's reaction.

"It's not like I can close my eyes, every time I look at her, Right?" Rivers throws her question to the girl.

"Don't mind him, he's jealous all the time," The girl glares at the boy, telling him to behave through her eyes.

"Think about it, us three are immortal, so don't you think like 5 or 10 years are not a long time to help humanity compared to the life we should live? after that, we can go wherever we want since people might find out that we are not aging,"

The girl seems to be influenced about what River says, the boy, on the other hand, is not thrilled with that idea.

"You have a point, I probably feel bored too doing nothing in the woods anyway," The girl crosses her arms, agreeing with his judgment.

River gives the boy a victory smile, while the boy rolls his eyes.

Spring has been approaching ever since the girl and the boy decides to join River to kill the zombies. They certainly become smarter and stronger because apparently, River has a lot of knowledge on how to kill zombies. The boy gets training to become a sniper under River's wing. The girl learns how to make a bomb from him to kill zombies effectively.

River has his team that is located in a different part of the city. The girl and the boy have never been to the main headquarter, River says that they still need training from him to be able to join the government organization. He also tells them, that they should never speak about their immortality. Since there is a high chance that they will be a rat lab once again if people find out.

River though he has the scariest bloodlust for zombies, he has a nice personality. Very positive and goal-oriented person. He is sensitive and has a broad knowledge coming from his love for books. He is also one of the most respected people in the organization, and an inspiring captain for his team. Most of his time is spent making strategies and sharing knowledge with the team.

River is currently enjoying his coffee while staring at the girl and the boy practicing shooting from a high building where they reside. A young man shows up from the door that leads to the emergency stairs.

"Sir! I'm here to inform you of an important mission from the headquarters!"He formally salutes him, with his right hand raised sharply, palm faced down, and the right forefinger placed at the end of his eyebrow.

"You could've used the radio to inform me," River sighs.

"That can't be done sir, this mission has high complexity and is highly classified,"

"Right…then can you tell me the mission?" he smirks playfully.

The young man glances at the boy and the girl looking at him.

"Sir, but these people," He lowered his voice.

"Ahahaha…don't be so tense, you can whisper it to me," River leans his body toward the young man.

The young man tiptoes and whispers to his ear.

"God, that sounds serious," River sighs. "Now, you can go, I get it," He shoves the young man forcefully to the exit door. Then, he turns his head to the girl and the boy.

"We got some serious mission here, let's go!" He shouts enthusiastically.

The boy and the girl look at each other knowing that things are about to go down.
