Melinda was not so sure about whether she should trust him completely, so decided to remain objective with regards to Graham.
"I understand, but I've already promised my friends that we would do this together," she complained.
"You can all do it with me there as well, I promise not to spoil your fun?" Graham begged.
Melinda realized then that Graham was actually reaching out as a sign of wanting to belong. She had not expected this. It did make sense that he would be lonely after reportedly leaving his family behind in Canada, as Raul had explained to her last night. He did not really belong in the bird sanctuary either, because he did not have anyone to relate to there. He had volunteered to be a bird, while the rest of the birds there resented their state of being. He was not really on Percival's side either because he had his own agenda for power, so he was always inquisitive.
"Graham, you can come with us if you guide us from a distance," Melinda relented.
